Hyundai is offering the Venue Knight Edition with multiple petrol engines and transmission options, and has not limited it to the top-spec variant either.

The Venue Knight Edition ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13.48 lakh, commanding a premium of up to Rs 33,000 over the corresponding variants.

Exterior Visual Changes

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition

Changes on board the Knight Edition include a black finish on the grille, logo, roof rails, shark-fin antenna, ORVMs, skid plates, and alloy wheels. There are also brass inserts on the front and rear bumpers, front wheels, and roof rail. The front brake calipers are painted red and there’s the ‘Knight’ emblem on board. The S (O) variant doesn’t get alloys, but does sport black wheel covers.

It can be obtained in four single-tone shades – Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Gray, and Fiery Red – and one dual-tone shade: Fiery Red with Abyss Black.

Interior Visual Changes

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition

The dual-tone interior of the Venue is replaced by an all-black theme in the Knight edition. It also gets brass-coloured inserts all over the cabin, including the black seat upholstery with chrome accents. For a sportier and premium look inside, the pedals get a metal finish and it gets 3D designer mats.

New Features Too

Hyundai Venue N Line Review

The dual camera dashcam has been brought over from the Venue N Line, especially for the Knight Edition variants. The S(O) MT variant also gets an electrochromic IRVM, which is available from the SX variant.

The existing set of features on board the Venue include an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen system, wireless charger, up to six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera.

Powertrain Options

The Venue Knight Edition can be opted with the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1-litre turbo-petrol engines. The petrol engine is tuned for 83PS and 114Nm, and is paired with a 5-speed manual ‘box.

A surprising update for the Knight Edition is the inclusion of the 6-speed manual with the turbo-petrol engine, as opposed to the iMT (manual without clutch pedal) offered on the regular variants. The turbo-petrol engine develops 120PS and 172Nm and gets the option of a 7-speed DCT as well.

There’s also a 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine on offer with a manual transmission with the Venue, though not with the Knight Edition.

The regular Hyundai Venue rivals the likes of Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the Maruti Fronx. The only rival to the Knight Edition would be the Dark variants of the Tata Nexon as well as the Kia Sonet X-Line.

Infiniti is preparing to unveil its new design language with the QX Monograph concept at the 2023 Pebble Beach Automotive Week. This event marks a significant turning point for Infiniti as it represents a bold evolution in their approach to vehicle design.

The global debut of the Infiniti QX Monograph concept will showcase the future direction of the automaker’s styling language. The vehicle has robust proportions and striking design elements that give a glimpse of what’s to come. The evolution of Infiniti’s double-arched grille and the innovative “digital piano key” lighting have attracted particular attention.

The C5 Aircross now gets a new entry-level variant called Feel priced at Rs 36.91 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India)

Citroen C5 Aircross

  • Citroen C5 Aircross facelift was launched in single variant in September 2022.

Being the flagship product in its marque’s Indian lineup (also its debut model here), the Citroen C5 Aircross, has now regained an entry-level variant called the ‘Feel.’ The carmaker has also hiked the price of the SUV’s top-spec Shine variant. The pre-facelift version already got both these variants but the ‘Feel’ trim was discontinued with the introduction of the facelifted C5 Aircross last year.

Citroen C5 Aircross cabin

As far as the Shine variant of the C5 Aircross is concerned, the carmaker has equipped it with a 10-inch touchscreen system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and electrically adjustable driver seat. Porsche 718 Spyder RS

Porsche’s V10 monster, the Carrera GT, is known for its impressive sound. However, there is an interesting detail about this car that many people overlook.

While the engine provides an incredible auditory experience for bystanders, the driver inside the car doesn’t get the same intense sound. Ironically, the best experience is actually outside the vehicle.

On the other hand, the 718 Spyder RS is an exceptional car in many ways. It is the last petrol model on Porsche’s mid-engined platform and the only RS car that is not specifically designed for track use. It is also the first time since the Carrera GT that Weissach has created an open-air, purist’s car.

But what truly sets the Spyder RS apart is its animalistic nature. It is arguably the most beast-like car available for purchase, considering it doesn’t cost a fortune and can be driven on a daily basis. When the engine surpasses 8500rpm, the metallic roar emitted from the airboxes on the body’s hips is indescribable.

This car is related to the Cayman GT4 RS, but with some changes that make it more suitable for road driving. Both models share the same 493bhp 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six engine from the 911 GT3, but the Spyder RS is mated with a short-ratio PDK gearbox. Andreas Preuninger, the head of Porsche’s GT division, emphasized that the Spyder RS is a driver’s car, prioritizing the enjoyment of open-road driving over lap times.

Now, why doesn’t the Spyder RS come with a manual gearbox? According to Preuninger, there are two reasons. First, the six-speed manual gearbox used in the regular 718 Spyder has longer gear ratios that are not suitable for the higher revs of the RS. Second, the six-speed manual gearbox from the 911 GT3 is physically too long to fit in the mid-engined 718, as it is designed to flow forward from the flat six engine in the rear-engined 911.

Maruti Invicto Now Gets Rear Seatbelt Reminder As Standard

The Maruti Invicto Zeta+ trim now gets rear seatbelt reminder at a premium of Rs 3,000

Maruti Invicto

  • Maruti launched the Toyota Innova Hycross-derived Invicto in July 2023.

  • It is sold in two broad variants: Zeta+ and Alpha+.

  • Alpha+ already has this safety feature since the MPV’s launch.

  • No other changes have been made to the safety kit of the Zeta+ trim.

  • New prices of the MPV range from Rs 24.82 lakh to Rs 28.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Shortly after introducing the Toyota Innova Hycross-derived Maruti Invicto, India’s largest carmaker has now equipped its most premium MPV with rear seatbelt reminder even in its entry-level Zeta+ trim. This feature was already available on the range-topping Alpha+ variant since Invicto was launched.

Applicability And Price Revision

The latest safety tech addition is applicable to both second- and third-row seats of the Maruti MPV. Prices of the Zeta+ variants (available in both 7- and 8-seater) have hence gone up marginally by Rs 3,000.

Other Safety Equipment Onboard

Maruti Invicto electronic parking brake with auto-hold

Maruti has made no other changes to the Zeta+ trim’s safety net. It comes with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

That said, features such as a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and rear defogger are still reserved for the Alpha+ variant.

Hyundai Exter Top-spec AMT vs Hyundai i20 Sportz Turbo-Petrol DCT – Which One To Pick?

While the Exter gets the SUV look and more features, the i20 is bigger and more powerful

Hyundai Exter Vs i20

The recently launched Hyundai Exter is the carmaker’s smallest SUV on sale. It’s based on the Grand i10 Nios hatchback, but sports a rugged SUV-ish styling. It can be considered as an upgrade over the Nios, but with a price range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, it overlaps several variants of the i20 premium hatchback as well. It turns out, the top-spec petrol-automatic variant of the Exter is priced quite similarly to the mid-spec i20 Turbo-DCT from a segment above. For that budget, let’s see which one is the right choice for you:

The i20 Sportz DCT is costlier than the fully loaded Exter by just Rs 16,000. If you’re not specifically looking for an automatic option, you can also look at the i20 Asta (O) in its manual guise for Rs 8,000 less.

Furthermore, the Exter gets a 5-speed AMT, while the i20 goes with a more responsive dual-clutch automatic. Interestingly, even with the added performance, the i20 is about 1 kmpl more efficient.

Hyundai Exter

Those who want more mileage can even look at the Exter CNG, though it’s only offered with a manual transmission. The alternative fuel option is not offered with the i20.

The i20’s wheelbase is also longer by 130mm. In all terms, the i20 is a bigger and more accommodating car. But if you prefer a more upright seating position, either as driver or passenger, and more headroom in the back, you might still consider the Exter.

With the i20, you get bigger 16-inch wheels (steelies though), leatherette seats, and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay over the Exter.

Safety quotient is also better with the Exter, with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and a dual-camera dash cam.

Tata Safari Facelift Uncamouflaged Interior Spied

The cabin of the Tata Safari facelift gets an updated center console and a Tata Avinya-inspired 4-spoke steering wheel with a display in the centre

2024 Tata Safari spied

  • The 2024 Tata Safari’s touchscreen housing could also be revised as part of the new centre console.
  • The SUV will likely get ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a panoramic sunroof.

  • The 2024 Tata Safari may also get the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.

The Tata Safari facelift is being thoroughly put through its paces ahead of its expected launch in early 2024. While its updated interior had already been caught on camera earlier, the latest spy shots show it without any camouflage, providing a clear glimpse of the new center console and steering wheel design.

A Redesigned Center Console

The picture reveals significant updates to the centre console, including restyled centre AC vents and possibly a revised housing for the same 10.25-inch touchscreen unit. Below it is the new climate control setup, which is expected to come with haptic controls.

Another notable feature is the all-new 4-spoke steering wheel, inspired by Tata’s Avinya concept. It incorporates a display in the centre, which will possibly feature an illuminated Tata logo and additional driving information. As seen in previous spy images, it also gets a new drive mode selector, likely featuring a display similar to the one on the Tata Nexon EV Max. Behind that, a new gear selector is also visible.

Tata Safari cabin

The 2024 Tata Safari will carry over numerous features from its current version, including a digital driver’s display, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a wireless phone charger, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, and ventilated front and middle row seats (the latter available only with the 6-seater configuration).

The current Safari is already equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and auto emergency braking. With the facelift, there’s a possibility of the Safari receiving adaptive cruise control and six airbags as standard. Other safety features will likely be retained include electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and 360-degree camera.

Maruti Brezza Automatic Now More Fuel Efficient Than Manual Variants

The Maruti Brezza has undergone a feature reshuffle for the petrol-manual and CNG variants

Maruti Brezza

  • The current-generation Brezza initially came with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid technology.

  • However, the manual variants no longer feature mild-hybrid technology, resulting in a lower claimed fuel economy.

  • The Brezza now offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.38kmpl, compared to the automatic variants’ 19.80kmpl.

  • Maruti has also removed electronic stability control and hill hold assist from the CNG variants.

  • Rear seat belt reminders are now standard across all variants.

  • Prices remain unchanged, ranging from Rs 7.29 lakh to Rs 13.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Maruti Brezza has undergone a silent update that has resulted in the removal of some key features. The most significant change is the exclusion of mild-hybrid technology from the petrol-manual variants, which has led to a decrease in fuel economy.

Brezza Manual Is Now Less Fuel Efficient

Maruti Brezza

The Brezza was initially launched with a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid technology as standard. This technology included features such as idle start-stop, regenerative braking, and torque assist during acceleration. However, after removing this feature from the manual variants, their claimed fuel efficiency has dropped to 17.38kmpl, a decrease of 2.77kmpl from the previous figure of 20.15kmpl (LXI and VXI MT).

On the other hand, the automatic variants of the Maruti Brezza still feature mild-hybrid technology and maintain a fuel economy of 19.80kmpl. As a result, those opting for the more expensive 6-speed torque converter automatic option can enjoy better mileage compared to those choosing the 5-speed manual transmission. Regardless of the transmission, the powertrain produces 103PS and 137Nm of torque.

CNG Variants Updates

Maruti Brezza

The CNG variants of the Maruti Brezza were initially launched with the same features as the corresponding petrol-manual variants. However, the CNG variants now offer fewer safety features as electronic stability control and hill hold assist have been removed.

The Brezza CNG variants still include dual front airbags, rearview camera, rear wiper washer, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The top-spec petrol variants additionally offer up to six airbags, a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, and auto day/night IRVM.

New Standard Safety Feature Added

Maruti Brezza

In addition to the feature removals, Maruti has also introduced seat belt reminders for rear passengers as a standard feature in the Brezza SUV. There are no weight sensors for the rear seats, so regardless of whether there are passengers seated at the back, seat belts must be strapped on. This may cause inconvenience, as passengers will need to unbuckle and then put on their seat belts upon entering the car.
