Tesla’s Unconventional Steering Yoke Faces More Criticism

Tesla’s current steering yoke design has divided opinions among fans of the brand. While some appreciate its unique and novel appearance, others find it challenging to handle, particularly at low speeds. Even racing drivers who utilize Teslas are split on the issue, with a round-wheeled Model S Plaid dominating its class at the 2021 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, while another Model S Plaid achieved a record lap for production all-electric vehicles on Germany’s famous Nurburgring track using the steering yoke.

According to InsideEVs, Tesla is not yet ready to abandon its unconventional steering wheel. The company is reportedly working on an updated version that combines elements of both the yoke and a regular steering wheel, aiming to appeal more to the wider audience. A prototype resembling this description was spotted on the upcoming Cybertruck at Tesla’s Investor Day event.

This recent change is part of a series of continuous adjustments to pricing and options availability throughout the Tesla lineup. Additionally, there are high expectations for the redesign of the Model 3, which is a key vehicle for the brand.

The Top 10 Motorcycle Stunts in Movies

In the movie “Knight and Day” released in 2010, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz showcased their comedic skills in an action-packed summer blockbuster. In one exciting scene, the unlikely pair of spies find themselves riding a Ducati Hypermotard motorcycle, being chased through the streets of Seville, Spain. The scene also features footage shot during the annual Running of the Bulls in Cadiz.

It seems that having a motorcycle in his films has become a trademark for Tom Cruise. This fun and thrilling sequence in “Knight and Day” is reminiscent of the high-speed chase in “Tomorrow Never Dies,” where the passenger sits backwards on the fuel tank and shoots at the enemy. In “Knight and Day,” the motorcycle sequence ends with a perfectly timed stunt involving jumps, wheelies, and maneuvering between two trams, all while being surrounded by stampeding bulls in a bullring.

Although “Knight and Day” did not spawn any sequels, the standalone motorcycle chase scene remains an impressive and well-executed performance. Tom Cruise has already been involved in various action-packed projects, such as the ongoing “Mission: Impossible” franchise, and creating a sequel may have diluted his star power. Nevertheless, the motorcycle chase in “Knight and Day” stands out as an ambitious and skillful stunt, especially considering the added challenge of having a passenger on the bike.

The dual-tone interior of the Venue is replaced by an all-black theme in the Knight edition. It also gets brass-coloured inserts all over the cabin, including the black seat upholstery with chrome accents. For a sportier and premium look inside, the pedals get a metal finish and it gets 3D designer mats.

New Features Too

Hyundai Venue N Line Review

The dual camera dashcam has been brought over from the Venue N Line, especially for the Knight Edition variants. The S(O) MT variant also gets an electrochromic IRVM, which is available from the SX variant.

The existing set of features on board the Venue include an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen system, wireless charger, up to six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera.

Powertrain Options

The Venue Knight Edition can be opted with the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1-litre turbo-petrol engines. The petrol engine is tuned for 83PS and 114Nm, and is paired with a 5-speed manual ‘box.

A surprising update for the Knight Edition is the inclusion of the 6-speed manual with the turbo-petrol engine, as opposed to the iMT (manual without clutch pedal) offered on the regular variants. The turbo-petrol engine develops 120PS and 172Nm and gets the option of a 7-speed DCT as well.

There’s also a 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine on offer with a manual transmission with the Venue, though not with the Knight Edition.

Rivals

The regular Hyundai Venue rivals the likes of Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the Maruti Fronx. The only rival to the Knight Edition would be the Dark variants of the Tata Nexon as well as the Kia Sonet X-Line.

RIDE SHOP AZ GASGAS 380CC TWO-STROKE PROJECT RAW VIDEO

The White Knight, a 2023 GASGAS 380cc two-stroke build, was created by The Ride Shop AZ and Johnny Wiseman. It serves as a rival to the Dark Knight Projexct, which was built by The Ride Shop AZ several years ago. The engine of the White Knight is completely white, the fork tubes are red, and the entire build was done by an ex-factory mechanic who worked for Destry Abbott at one point. In this video, we delve into the details of the build, share our experience riding it on the track, and let you listen to the powerful sound of this 380cc two-stroke at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California.

In addition to the video where we break down the bike and provide detailed information, we wanted to give our dedicated viewers the opportunity to see it in its raw form. This video is stripped of talking, extra information, and focuses purely on the raw enjoyment of a 2-stroke engine.

First drive: 2023 Skoda Kodiaq prototype review

Even popular movie trilogies, like The Godfather and The Dark Knight, often lose steam by the third installment.

However, Skoda SUVs defy this trend. The Czech automaker released a successful three-part series, starting with the impressive Skoda Kodiaq, followed by the highly popular Skoda Karoq and Kamiq. Now, Skoda is returning to where it all began with a new Kodiaq set to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.

The second-generation large SUV will continue to share components with other Volkswagen Group models, including the new VW Tiguan, which we have already tested in prototype form. Pricing, trim levels, and equipment details will be confirmed later this year. The lineup will include a standard Kodiaq and a sportier SportLine version, with most models featuring seven seats. Additionally, a hotter Skoda Kodiaq vRS version is expected to join the range about a year later.

At launch, the new Kodiaq will offer two petrol and two diesel engine options. As 97% of Kodiaq buyers opted for the smooth-shifting DSG gearbox, all engines will come with it as standard.

The entry-level petrol variant is a 148bhp 1.5-liter engine featuring the latest Evo2 mild-hybrid technology. It is quieter and has smoother transitions to its fuel-saving two-cylinder mode. While not particularly spirited, its performance is adequate for everyday errands. Alternatively, there is a more powerful 201bhp 2.0-liter TSI petrol option available.

The entry-level diesel variant is a 148bhp 2.0-liter engine with strong low-end power, making it ideal for carrying a fully loaded Kodiaq. It may be a bit overkill for primarily city driving, but it excels on cross-country journeys.

The top-tier diesel variant is a 190bhp engine. Although it feels less lively and revs slower, it produces less diesel noise in the cabin. Furthermore, it is the only Kodiaq variant that comes with seven seats and four-wheel drive.

WHITE KNIGHT GAS GAS 380 PROJECT BY THE RIDE SHOP AZ: FULL VIDEO

The “White Knight” motorcycle, created by Jonny Weisman, the owner of The Ride Shop AZ, is a combination of a 2023 GAS GAS chassis and an early 2000s 380cc two-stroke engine. This project is a counterpart to the “Dark Knight” Project Weisman built a few years ago, which featured a KX500 engine in a newer generation KTM chassis. Jonny Weisman has previously worked as Destry Abbott’s mechanic in the off-road department at factory Kawasaki. In this video, we explore the details of the build, its performance on the track, and provide you with the opportunity to listen to the powerful sound of this 380cc two-stroke engine at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California.
