Chevrolet introduced the first-ever production mid-engine Corvette in July 2019. The 2020 C8 leveled up Chevy’s Stingray from its iconic stature to what many call the “American Supercar”. From its exotic appearance to its track-bred technology and enhanced performance, the eighth-generation already rolls off the line as a neck-breaker.
Only four years into production, with limited numbers released due to COVID delays, supply chain shortages, and exorbitant dealer markups, the C8 remains a more exclusive and less-seen car on the road; but that hasn’t made mid-engine Corvette owners settle for a stock version, and mods to appearance and performance have popped up on the internet since they first were in the hands of buyers. Here are eight of the most modified C8 Corvettes that we’ve seen on the web, in no particular order.

Standout Modification: C8 Tribute Honors the GOAT
Those that make the rounds at the Corvette meet, sanctioned shows and various clubs will most certainly come across the tribute ‘Vette. They aren’t extremely common, but they are out there. We’ve seen the Elvis Presley-inspired Corvette complete with a mural and dancing mini-Elvis, the Bruce Lee, also adorned with a mural and a spinning dragon, as well as the Marilyn Monroe ‘Vette that featured the iconic celeb’s portrait spread over and under the front hood.
So, if greatness is the inspiration for tribute Corvettes, we’d only have to expect a Michael Jordan C8 would come to life and here it is. This 2022 Chevy Corvette honors the Goat’s most notable revenue stream – the Air Jordan – the shoe that changed history for athletes, Nike, the consumer, and Michael Jordan, himself, who according to a Forbes accounting, by 2020 had earned north of $1.3 billion throughout his endorsement deal, originally signed in 1984. If you didn’t catch that, the dollar amount started with a B and was definitely worthy of a tribute.
The MJ ‘Vette featuring a wrap that imitates the legendary shoe comes from Redline Design out of Florida. It is dressed in a stitched leather-look upper in the familiar red, white, and black. The C8’s frunk intros the sneaker’s approximation with faux air vents on the replicated toe cap and even those that don’t hoop will be quick to recognize the silhouette of the infamous Jordan Jumpman, sprawled across the hood. The quintessential Swoosh starts near the high tail wing, extending past the boomerang to mid-door.
The vertical doors open to expose a color-matched, red and black interior and sills that feature Jordan’s distinctive elephant print in gray and black. Although His Airness sported multiple numbers in his playing career, his most emblematic – #23 – is displayed on the sides of the wing. Even more, details can be found on closer inspection and underline the fact that a wrap can be any ride’s total difference-maker if you believe, like Redline Design does – #PaintIsDead.

Standout Modification: 8th-Gen Mid-Engine Widens Body, Adds McLaren-esque Exhaust
This Chevy C8 came to life with an extensive list of changeouts that started with a widebody kit first seen at SEMA and a full body wrap in black brush. The extended girth was only the beginning, as the exotic feel ran much deeper with the backend mods. An engine-viewing window that is deleted from the factory design on the convertible C8 was fabbed into this topless version.
A McLaren-inspired exhaust fully transforms the C8 rear end as the tips exit was raised to flank each side of the rear plate, penetrating the body just under the tail lights and below the added high wing spoiler. A Forgiato performance wheel makeover puts the shoes on this Cinderella, while a VIAR Air Ride suspension slams the C8, and Lambo-style scissors doors with hinges by Vertical Doors, Inc. transform the side profile. The Corvette owner enlisted the work of West Coast Customs for the build and the result ended in a C8 that truly screams different.

In 2019, Alfa Romeo enthusiasts were disappointed to learn that the beloved 4C was being discontinued. This small sports car, which made its debut as a Coupe in 2013 and later as a Spider in 2015, was no longer in production worldwide. The Coupe had already bid farewell to the US market in 2018, leaving only the remaining 4Cs in dealer inventories as the last chance for potential buyers to own this Italian gem.
However, Alfa Romeo has undergone changes and is now a different company. It has become profitable once again and has set its sights on achieving a new sales record by the mid-decade. As part of its new ambitions, Alfa Romeo is now planning to introduce a new electric roadster, replacing the 4C, according to a comprehensive report by Autocar. This move is part of a broader strategy to electrify and revamp the brand’s lineup.
In 2019, Jeep expanded its lineup by introducing the Gladiator, a robust truck designed to complement the Wrangler in its off-road range. Earlier this year, the automaker unveiled an enhanced version of the SUV, and now, many of those enhancements will be featured in the 2024 Gladiator, which made its debut at this year’s North American International Auto Show.
One of the most notable changes to the exterior of the truck is its new seven-slot grille design. Similar to the Wrangler, the Gladiator now sports smaller slots, which Jeep claims will improve the truck’s cooling system. The grille features black slats with neutral gray bezels and a body-color surround. However, the Willys trim stands out with its black slots and bezels.
The AirPods 2 were launched back in 2019 and are considered the best cheap wireless earbuds for iPhone users. While the second-generation AirPods usually cost $129, they are currently available on Amazon for $99, which is a fantastic price. Although the AirPods 2 can be used with Android phones, many of their features are exclusive to the iPhone. These features include one-touch pairing, Siri voice commands, audio sharing, and the ability to view battery life.
The AirPods 2 have automatic in-ear detection, which allows them to pause playback when you remove them from your ears. They also have touch controls on the stems that let you play or pause music, play the next or previous track, or summon Siri. These controls can be customized on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, but not on an Android or Windows device. The AirPods 2 earbuds also feature a speech-detecting accelerometer that can automatically detect when you’re speaking and filter outside sound.
While the AirPods 2 do not have active noise cancellation (ANC), their semi-in-ear design makes them a comfortable choice for users who do not like ear tips. The earbuds offer five hours of battery life, while the case extends that to 24 hours. Charging the AirPods for 15 minutes provides three hours of listening time.
Apple has surprised many by backing a California bill that supports the right to repair. This is a significant shift in Apple’s previous stance on the issue. In 2019, an Apple lobbyist opposed similar plans in California, citing safety concerns. The lobbyist even demonstrated the potential dangers by pointing out the risk of accidentally puncturing the flammable Lithium-ion battery of an iPhone. As a result, the bill was withdrawn. Apple had also previously employed a lobbyist to block right to repair legislation in New York.
The lobbying efforts, led by a group called CompTIA, which represented Apple, Samsung, and Microsoft among others, argued that providing product documentation and proprietary diagnostic software would pose security risks. These companies advocated for customers to exclusively use authorized repair outlets, which tend to be expensive. Furthermore, Apple and other manufacturers compelled independent repair shops to join their “Apple Authorized Service Provider Program,” which also imposed financial burdens.
In the past, Apple faced criticism for making device repairs needlessly complex. The company’s practice of part matching, such as tying Face ID to the screen, faced backlash from right-to-repair activists. A 2017 report by Repair.Org accused Apple and similar companies of obstructing efforts to establish repair-friendly product design guidelines and incentives.
After the successful launch of the all-electric Taycan in 2019, there were concerns about the future of the Panamera. Many questioned whether Porsche would continue producing the ICE (internal combustion engine) model. However, Porsche has confirmed that they are committed to one final generation of the Panamera. While some initially believed it was just a facelift, Porsche assures us that it is indeed a true next-generation vehicle.
Recently, Autocar had the opportunity to test an early prototype of the 2024 Panamera and uncovered some preliminary technical details. The new model will feature a longer wheelbase and larger rear doors to enhance accessibility for passengers getting in and out of the back seats. The use of newly developed foam-filled steel elements has also increased the car’s stiffness, with additional rear bracing elements serving the same purpose.
The Livewire One, which is essentially the same as the Harley-Davidson Livewire released in 2019, has undergone a few changes. It no longer bears the bar and shield branding or the bold colors. Instead, it features a dark livery with an abundance of matte black on the frame and mechanical components, and a glossy finish on the “tank” and fairing. Despite being built by the leading manufacturer of American cruisers, this bike is more of a sport bike than a typical cruiser. It has a forward-leaning seating position and minimal seating for passengers. With its quick acceleration and ample power, it feels more like a sport bike than a cruiser. For braking, it relies on Brembo, with two discs in the front and one in the rear, and a mono shock supports the rear swingarm. Inverted forks complete the front suspension.
As an electric vehicle, the Livewire One offers instant and substantial torque. It has four riding modes: street, eco, rain, and sport. Sport mode provides the most aggressive torque curve and regenerative braking, while eco mode maximizes range by toning everything down. During the test ride, there were no opportunities to fully open the throttle, but even with small bursts of power, it was evident how quickly this bike could accelerate. It can be quite intimidating. In sport mode, the regenerative braking is significantly more aggressive, which would be great on a track but rather bothersome for everyday riding. Eco mode, on the other hand, is more suited for leisurely everyday driving and offers the highest efficiency.
The current-generation Ram 1500 debuted in 2019, so it’s time for a mid-cycle refresh. Recently, spy photographers in Detroit captured images of a camo-covered Ram on the streets, giving us our first glimpse of the upcoming update on Motor1.com.
While the camouflage hides most of the details, there are still some noteworthy changes to note. The design adjustments are expected to include smaller headlights alongside a slightly larger and tweaked grille. Ram has done a good job concealing the specifics, but the updated lights are clearly visible. Moving lower down, the bumper could feature larger corner vents equipped with driving lamps. At the back, the refreshed model may flaunt updated taillight designs, partially visible through the white mesh.
