Chevrolet introduced the first-ever production mid-engine Corvette in July 2019. The 2020 C8 leveled up Chevy’s Stingray from its iconic stature to what many call the “American Supercar”. From its exotic appearance to its track-bred technology and enhanced performance, the eighth-generation already rolls off the line as a neck-breaker.

Only four years into production, with limited numbers released due to COVID delays, supply chain shortages, and exorbitant dealer markups, the C8 remains a more exclusive and less-seen car on the road; but that hasn’t made mid-engine Corvette owners settle for a stock version, and mods to appearance and performance have popped up on the internet since they first were in the hands of buyers. Here are eight of the most modified C8 Corvettes that we’ve seen on the web, in no particular order.

Standout Modification: C8 Tribute Honors the GOAT

Those that make the rounds at the Corvette meet, sanctioned shows and various clubs will most certainly come across the tribute ‘Vette. They aren’t extremely common, but they are out there. We’ve seen the Elvis Presley-inspired Corvette complete with a mural and dancing mini-Elvis, the Bruce Lee, also adorned with a mural and a spinning dragon, as well as the Marilyn Monroe ‘Vette that featured the iconic celeb’s portrait spread over and under the front hood.

So, if greatness is the inspiration for tribute Corvettes, we’d only have to expect a Michael Jordan C8 would come to life and here it is. This 2022 Chevy Corvette honors the Goat’s most notable revenue stream – the Air Jordan – the shoe that changed history for athletes, Nike, the consumer, and Michael Jordan, himself, who according to a Forbes accounting, by 2020 had earned north of $1.3 billion throughout his endorsement deal, originally signed in 1984. If you didn’t catch that, the dollar amount started with a B and was definitely worthy of a tribute.

The MJ ‘Vette featuring a wrap that imitates the legendary shoe comes from Redline Design out of Florida. It is dressed in a stitched leather-look upper in the familiar red, white, and black. The C8’s frunk intros the sneaker’s approximation with faux air vents on the replicated toe cap and even those that don’t hoop will be quick to recognize the silhouette of the infamous Jordan Jumpman, sprawled across the hood. The quintessential Swoosh starts near the high tail wing, extending past the boomerang to mid-door.

The vertical doors open to expose a color-matched, red and black interior and sills that feature Jordan’s distinctive elephant print in gray and black. Although His Airness sported multiple numbers in his playing career, his most emblematic – #23 – is displayed on the sides of the wing. Even more, details can be found on closer inspection and underline the fact that a wrap can be any ride’s total difference-maker if you believe, like Redline Design does – #PaintIsDead.

7 Corvette Transformation: C8 Face And An Oakland Back-End

Standout Modification: 8th-Gen Mid-Engine Widens Body, Adds McLaren-esque Exhaust

This Chevy C8 came to life with an extensive list of changeouts that started with a widebody kit first seen at SEMA and a full body wrap in black brush. The extended girth was only the beginning, as the exotic feel ran much deeper with the backend mods. An engine-viewing window that is deleted from the factory design on the convertible C8 was fabbed into this topless version.

A McLaren-inspired exhaust fully transforms the C8 rear end as the tips exit was raised to flank each side of the rear plate, penetrating the body just under the tail lights and below the added high wing spoiler. A Forgiato performance wheel makeover puts the shoes on this Cinderella, while a VIAR Air Ride suspension slams the C8, and Lambo-style scissors doors with hinges by Vertical Doors, Inc. transform the side profile. The Corvette owner enlisted the work of West Coast Customs for the build and the result ended in a C8 that truly screams different.
