It arrives as an alternative to the likes of the Mercedes AMG EQS 53 and Audi RS e-tron GT
BMW has just launched the i7 M70 xDrive as the performance variant of its flagship luxury electric sedan. The i7 M70 has a few cosmetic changes in its exterior and interior design, and packs a more powerful electric motor. Here, we’ll see how this new sporty electric sedan fares against the two other sporty EVs offered in India: the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 and the Audi RS e-Tron GT.

The BMW i7 M70 is the largest of the three electric sedans, with the Mercedes AMG EQS 53 not far behind in terms of size. However, there is a noticeable difference in length, with the Audi RS e-Tron GT being a lot smaller than the other two luxury offerings.
In terms of design, the BMW EV has a more rectangular shape with straight lines and flat panels, while the AMG EQS 53 has a more curvy design for better aerodynamics. The RS e-Tron GT, on the other hand, carries a more traditional sports coupe-like design. This also translates to a more spacious rear passenger area in the BMW and Mercedes EVs compared to the Audi alternative listed here.

In terms of features, the BMW i7 M70 offers more technology compared to its competition. While the AMG EQS does have a bigger touchscreen (the entire dashboard essentially) on offer, the BMW EV provides a better rear seat experience. When it comes to safety, the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 takes the lead with more airbags and better driver assist technology.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive and the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQS 53 are similarly priced and offer similar features. If you’re looking for a luxury EV that can offer technology, comfort, and performance in one package, both of them can be considered, but the BMW has the advantage in terms of the rear seat experience. On the other hand, the Audi RS e-Tron GT has a lower price compared to the other two, making it more accessible, although it lacks some of the luxury equipment, space, and range.
