2024 BMW X2 M35i Teaser Unveils Design Details Ahead of October 11 Debut

The BMW X2 M35i xDrive is set to make its debut on October 11, and the German automaker has released a 19-second teaser trailer in anticipation.

The teaser clip provides a glimpse of the X2 M35i’s design features. It showcases the illuminated edge of the grille, adorned with an M badge on the right side. The BMW emblem is placed in an indented section of the hood, flanked by two raised areas. The side mirrors sport a sharp shape and have black covers, giving them a sporty look.

The wheels of the X2 M35i boast a complex shape with multiple facets, a black finish, and machined sections around the rim. The teaser also reveals drilled brake discs and M-branded rotors behind the wheels.

At the rear, the X2 M35i is fitted with a spoiler underneath the back window. The spoiler features raised sections on each side and a flat middle section. The lower part of the bumper showcases a boxy fascia above the quad exhaust pipes, with two on each side.

A previous teaser for the new X2 showed the car appearing in the virtual city of Hypnopolis, accessible in the popular game Fortnite. The custom map in the game includes the iconic BMW “Four Cylinder” building and the automaker’s museum.

The teaser site for the X2 M35i confirms that the vehicle will generate 296 horsepower (221 kilowatts) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 5.4 seconds. These specifications are intriguing considering the X1 M35i xDrive, which premiered in June 2023, is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 312 hp and 295 lb-ft, enabling it to reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. Typically, we would expect these models to be mechanically identical.

The X1 M35i is equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, a mechanical limited-slip differential, and all-wheel drive. It also features an adjustable M suspension as a standard option. It is likely that some of these features will carry over to the X2 variant.

The X1 M35i incorporates the new BMW iDrive 9 infotainment system, and it is expected that the X2 variant will also come equipped with this advanced technology. The X2 will be available with M sport seats and an anthracite-colored headliner, adding to its sporty appeal.

The 2024 X1 M35i xDrive is set to arrive at dealerships in the United States in October 2023, with prices starting at $50,895 after the destination fee. The details gleaned from the X2’s unveiling may provide insight into the availability and pricing of the sleeker X2 model in the US.
