2024 Skoda Kodiaq Rendering Takes After Teasers, SUV Debuts October 4

The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq will be unveiled on October 4, following a prolonged teaser campaign. In the meantime, an unofficial rendering has been created based on the sketches released by Skoda, offering a realistic preview of what the mid-size SUV will look like.

The 2024 Kodiaq will retain the familiar design elements of its predecessor, including double lights, squared-off wheel arches, and the traditional front grille. Skoda has chosen to take an evolutionary approach in terms of design and has not taken any major risks.

2024 Skoda Kodiaq final rendering

The new Kodiaq will feature second-generation matrix LED adaptive headlights, a rear light bar, and a dark chrome finish for the D-pillars. Skoda has also updated the font used for the brand’s name on the center of the tailgate. However, it has decided not to revert back to the previous logo depicting a winged arrow. Wheel sizes will range from 17 inches for the base model to 20 inches for the higher-end trims.

While the exterior design remains largely unchanged, the interior of the 2024 Kodiaq will undergo a revolution. It will feature an all-new dashboard with a massive 13-inch touchscreen and three 1.25-inch displays mounted within a rotary knob on the center console. These smaller screens will provide additional functionality and reduce clutter. The driver will also benefit from a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

In terms of space, Skoda has increased the dimensions of the Kodiaq. The SUV is now 61 mm (2.4 in) longer, offering greater cargo capacity for both the five- and seven-seat versions. Additionally, the roofline has been adjusted to provide more headroom for passengers in the rear seats, making the second-generation Kodiaq exceptionally spacious.

The 2024 Kodiaq will be one of the last VW Group vehicles to be offered with combustion engines. It will be available with a range of engine options, including a 1.5 TSI that will power a plug-in hybrid version. All variants of the SUV will be equipped with a dual-clutch automatic transmission, and some will have all-wheel drive.

2025 Ford Ranger PHEV Debuts With Up To 28 Miles Of Electric Range

Ford has unveiled the new 2025 Ranger PHEV, the first-ever plug-in hybrid version of the popular Ranger truck. Production is set to begin later this year, with deliveries expected to start in early 2025. It’s worth noting that Ford has currently only provided details for the European market, with no information about a potential North American release.

The Ford Ranger is currently Europe’s best-selling truck, and Ford is expanding its lineup by introducing a 2.3-liter plug-in hybrid system. This system combines the power of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a small battery pack. Although specific power figures have not been disclosed, Ford claims that the Ranger PHEV will have more torque than any previous production model. While we don’t have the exact numbers, we can make some comparisons for context.

Maserati MC20 Was Initially Planned as an Alfa Romeo Supercar

When the first teaser images of the Maserati MC20 were released in early 2020, enthusiasts noticed that the car resembled a heavily modified 4C test mule. This is because the MC20 was originally intended to be an Alfa Romeo vehicle. In an interview with Australian magazine CarExpert, Daniel Guzzafame, the head of product at Alfa Romeo, revealed that the MC20 started its development as an Alfa before the decision was made to switch to the Maserati brand.

Even though the project eventually shifted to Maserati, there was still a possibility for Alfa Romeo to be involved again. The new 33 Stradale is closely connected to the MC20, but it is not simply a rebadged version of Maserati’s flagship model. Apart from having a different body, the front and rear suspension of the 33 Stradale are specifically designed, and both the front H-frame and the rear aluminum frame are unique to the vehicle.

Alfa Romeo Supercar Teaser Shows Off Lights Before August 30 Debut

Alfa Romeo has one last teaser for its enigmatic supercar ahead of the model’s debut on August 30, 2023, at the brand’s museum. The accompanying Facebook post includes the tagline “Il coraggio di sognare,” which means “the courage to dream” in English.

The four red lights in the teaser image might indicate this is a photo of the vehicle’s tail lamps. They incorporate a triangular grille with vertical slats. The upper portion of the car is red, and the lower part is very dark gray.

Alfa Romeo has done an excellent job of keeping its supercar under wraps. The rumors suggest that the model might share underpinnings with the Maserati MC20. The powertrain allegedly consists of the twin-turbo 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 with an electric motor. This would result in a total output of around 800 horsepower versus 621 hp from the MC20, which is not a hybrid.

An earlier teaser (below) possibly offers a glimpse into the cabin. The image seems to show the steering wheel with a brown center section and a metal badge with the brand’s cross-and-snake emblem.

Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said the supercar looked “iconic, super-sexy, and recognizable,” and described it as “something that I could put aside the 8C in the museum of Arese.”

The supercar allegedly goes by the name 33 or 6C. Both names are references to classic Alfa Romeo models.

The Tipo 33 was a series of race cars. The 33 Stradale was a supercar by the standards of the late 1960s with a curvy body and a 2.0-liter V8 engine.

The 6C comprised a whole series of racing models and road cars. An inline-six engine was a common element for all of them.

When the new supercar arrives, it might be too late for the public to get one. Alfa Romeo allegedly began accepting deposits for the model even before its corporate parent, Stellantis, gave the model a green light for production. Nearly all of them reportedly already have reservations.

GMC Hummer EV EarthCruiser: An Eco-Friendly Overlander for Adventure Travel

The public will have the opportunity to see the fully functional Hummer EarthCruiser upfit at the Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado, from August 25 to 27.

One of the main appeals of this overlander is its commitment to sustainability and off-grid capability. EarthCruiser has collaborated with GMC to develop a carbon-fiber house that is seamlessly integrated into the electric truck’s chassis. The vehicle is equipped with a remarkable 605-watt onboard solar power system and a 6-kilowatt-hour 12V lithium battery setup, providing an estimated seven days of off-grid power autonomy. This allows adventurers to power essential appliances like refrigerators or freezers, ensuring they have sustenance even during extended trips.

Volkswagen California T7 Teaser Gives Sneak Peek of Pop-Up Roof Ahead of August 24 Debut

A new teaser image offers a glimpse of the upcoming Volkswagen T7 California camper concept, which will make its debut on August 24 at the Caravan Salon show in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The teaser image, shown below, has been brightened to reveal more details. The van features a two-tone paint scheme, with a silver top and a red bottom. It rides on five-spoke wheels with metallic accents near the rim. An illuminated “California” badge can be seen below the rear license plate. The pop-up roof is shown in the raised position.

VW refers to the vehicle premiering in Düsseldorf as a concept. However, spy photos (see below) show the production version of the new T7 California without any camouflage. From what can be seen, the two vehicles appear almost identical on the outside, although there may be differences in the interior.

VW has confirmed that the pop-up roof adds an additional 6.5 feet (two meters) of height when deployed. The company has also equipped the van with a new touchscreen control panel for adjusting features such as the thermostat, lights, and cooling box.

A sneak peek video unveils the Driving Experience Switch in the upcoming 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. This knob serves multiple purposes by allowing the driver to switch between different drive modes, adjust the stereo volume, and modify the ambient lighting.

The knob is equipped with a small center screen that displays the selected drive mode, such as Individual or Sport. This selection is also visible on the infotainment screen. While the video does not provide details on how to switch between the three functions, it is possible that pressing the center section of the knob is involved.
