  • The XUV.e8 is expected to go on sale by the end of 2024.

  • It’s based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform and will be the first of the new-range of EVs planned.

  • Its latest spy shots also show a new set of wheels but the rear is largely unchanged.

  • Cabin was seen with a fresh 2-spoke steering wheel and a different gear shifter.

  • To likely get both 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery options, having a claimed range of up to 450 km.

  • Prices are expected to start from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).

We got our first look at the all-electric Mahindra XUV700 (called the Mahindra XUV.e8) in August 2022, although in a concept form. Fast forward by a little more than a year, and the electric SUV’s test mules have started showing up on our streets. One such model was spied again recently, which seemed to be a closer-to-production version. We believe the XUV.e8 also previews the refreshed XUV700, which can be expected sometime soon after the EV’s launch.

Everything That Was Noticed

Up front, the all-electric XUV700 was seen with the same revised fascia as noticed on its concept. There is an LED DRL strip running the width of the bonnet, and it also sported the updated vertically stacked split-LED headlights. While the test mule was seen with a different set of alloy wheels, we expect them to be altered on the final production model to be more aerodynamically designed.

Things at the back, however, are nearly unchanged over the standard XUV700 with the only possible difference being a redone bumper.

What About The Cabin?

One of the biggest changes observed inside the cabin is the provision of a 2-spoke steering wheel, a design offered on latest Tata SUVs like the new Harrier and Safari. Another update is the inclusion of a new drive selector, which is identical to the one seen on the concept. The electric XUV700 could also offer a 3-screens setup as showcased on the concept, which is likely to have been under camouflage on this test mule.

Battery Pack, Electric Motors And Range

The new platform can be had with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), while the electric powertrains will offer up to 285 PS for RWD models and up to 394 PS in AWD models.

Witness Sergio Perez’s Thrilling Race in a Red Bull F1 Car Through the Streets of Las Vegas

For the very first time, Formula 1 is set to hit the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The anticipation is already mounting for the late-night street race, scheduled for November. In a playful promotional video that pays tribute to the city, Red Bull F1 driver Sergio Perez and Team Principal Christian Horner recently visited Las Vegas.

The video begins with Perez and Horner meeting in an elevator. Perez is asked to recount his adventures from the previous evening, during which his RB7 F1 car was discovered on top of a casino. It turns out that a wild night of gambling took a twist when off-road racer Bryce Menzies joined Perez at the roulette table. This unexpected turn of events prompted the duo to jump into their respective race cars.

Watch The Rimac Nevera Race The McMurtry Spéirling & An F1 Car

When three giants of automotive engineering go head-to-head on the drag strip, the world takes notice. Recently, the Rimac Nevera, an impressive electric vehicle, competed against a Red Bull Racing RB8 and the McMurtry Spéirling in a series of thrilling Carwow drag races. These races set new standards for speed, power, and innovation. Despite being the only two-seater and road-legal GT hypercar, the Nevera proved its dominance with its 1,914hp, winning two out of three standing-start races.

The Nevera has already achieved great success, breaking more than 20 performance records this year alone. It has set new world records for acceleration times, including 0-60mph, 0-100mph, and 0-186mph. In this latest victory, the Nevera conquered the quarter-mile faster than an F1 car. Both the Red Bull Racing RB8 and McMurtry Spéirling are engineering marvels, with F1 successes and Goodwood Festival of Speed achievements under their belts. However, they fell short against the Nevera.

These powerhouses clashed in three races. In the first race, the Nevera’s intelligent four-wheel drive allowed it to take the lead and finish first at the ¼-mile mark. In the second race, the Spéirling briefly took the lead, but the Nevera’s consistent performance secured its overall victory in the final race. Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of Rimac Group, expressed his honor in competing against these remarkable pieces of automotive engineering and coming out on top. Carwow’s Presenter, Mat Watson, also praised the thrilling nature of the race.

After achieving a record-breaking time of 49.32 seconds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, the Nevera has set the stage for even more record-breaking attempts later this year. It is not just a hypercar; it represents the future of speed with electric vehicles. The Nevera took on the challenge with the world watching and emerged as the champion, redefining the concept of speed. It is not just a car; it is a champion that is here to stay. The Nevera is just getting started, so the world should watch out.
