Meta Threads Launches Android Beta Program: Here’s How To Join

Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, has announced that several new features are in the works for the Threads app. One of the upcoming features is the ability to edit messages, and Mosseri suggests that this feature may be available for free. In contrast, Twitter requires a subscription for its users to edit tweets.

The most requested feature for Threads is a chronological feed, where users can see posts only from accounts they follow instead of an algorithmically-curated feed. Mosseri confirms that work on this feature will continue over the next few weeks, indicating that it may be offered as an optional format.

Additionally, efforts are being made to introduce hashtags for Threads. Furthermore, users may soon have the ability to switch between two different Threads profiles, similar to how they can toggle between multiple Instagram accounts on the mobile app.

While Threads currently serves as a view-only platform on the web, plans are in place to develop a desktop version as well. Other features under consideration by Mosseri include a dedicated search system, an automatic translation tool, and enhanced privacy controls for comments.

BMW’s New Smart Glasses: Enhancing Safety and Comfort for Motorcycle Riders

BMW has introduced the Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses to provide motorcycle riders with a range of smart and connected features. These glasses can be paired with smartphones via Bluetooth using a dedicated app. The projection position can also be adjusted according to the rider’s preference. With two size options available (medium and large), the glasses are designed to fit various helmet sizes and face shapes. BMW claims that these glasses are comfortable for long durations, providing nose pads in different sizes for optimal comfort for all riders.

In addition to their technological features, the smart glasses come with two sets of lenses: a tinted lens and an 85% transparent lens, both incorporating a certified UVA/UVB filter. To ensure clear vision, the RX adapter allows for vision adjustments of up to 4.5 diopters. The Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses are powered by a lithium-ion battery that offers up to ten hours of operation. The battery can be recharged using a supplied USB-C cable.

Although BMW has introduced the smart glasses at the BMW Motorrad Days event in Berlin, they are expected to be available to consumers before the end of 2023, as stated in their official release. The global availability details are not provided at this time, but the recommended retail price for the Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses is 690 euros ($750).

5 Things That The 2024 Hyundai Creta Will Get From Kia Seltos Facelift

The Creta facelift will borrow several features from the new Seltos, to transform itself into one of the most feature-packed compact SUVs

Kia Seltos Vs Hyundai Creta

The Kia Seltos facelift recently made its India debut and its market launch is scheduled to happen soon. The updated model receives several cosmetic upgrades inside out, new features, and a more powerful turbo-petrol engine. It is the first major update for the Seltos in the four years since its launch, and many of these changes can be expected to be offered on its Korean sibling, the Hyundai Creta facelift, due to arrive in 2024.

While they will continue to sport their distinctive design languages, both SUVs are the same underneath. Here are the 5 key features and updates the 2024 Creta could borrow from the facelifted Seltos:

Dual 10.25-Inch Displays

Kia Seltos New Vs Old

The Seltos flaunts dual 10.25-inch connected displays, one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. The Creta currently gets a 10.25-inch infotainment unit and a semi-digital instrument cluster. We could see a similar layout on the Creta facelift, which will elevate the premium quotient of the Creta’s cabin.

ADAS

Kia Seltos New Vs Old

One of the prime additions to the Seltos facelift is the radar-based ADAS. The suite of active safety features will also be carried over the Creta facelift. Hyundai had already confirmed that more of its cars will get ADAS, following the Tucson SUV and Verna sedan.

For reference, the Seltos’ ADAS suite consists of adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring, high-beam assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

Dual-zone AC

Kia Seltos New Vs Old

A segment-first feature of the Seltos facelift is the dual-zone climate control, which we might see onboard the 2024 Creta as well. This is a feel-good feature which will definitely add to the convenience of owners and also elevates these compact SUVs to the same premium feature set as that offered by the likes of the Mahindra XUV700.

1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine

Kia Seltos New Vs Old

With its 160PS/253Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, the facelifted Seltos is currently the most powerful compact SUV we have on sale. The same engine is also seen onboard the Verna and Carens and will find its way on the 2024 Creta too. This engine, on the Seltos, is paired with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. However, for the Creta, we might not see an iMT (manual without clutch pedal) option, but rather a three-pedal manual stick.

A sporty rear end

Kia Seltos New Vs Old

As mentioned earlier, the Seltos and Creta will maintain their distinct visual identities, but there are styling cues that might get carried over in some form. One of the big exterior changes for the Seltos facelift is its new rear end featuring connected LED taillamps and a new dual-tip exhaust.

The Creta facelift could also introduce the connected lighting setup at the back. While the Hyundai SUV’s turbo-petrol variants already came with a dual-tip exhaust, the Seltos facelift features a different kind of setup, with one tip on each end of the bumper. This could result in a different type of exhaust note, one that could be offered on the new Creta as well to match the performance of the 160PS turbo-petrol engine.

These are some of the key updates expected to be carried over from the Kia Seltos facelift to the 2024 Hyundai Creta. With these updates, the Hyundai SUV is expected to attract a premium over its current prices that range from Rs 10.87 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

# New Maruti Invicto Teaser Shows Off Its Panoramic Sunroof Ahead Of July 5 Launch

The upcoming Maruti Invicto MPV is set to launch on July 5, and a new teaser image has confirmed the presence of a panoramic sunroof. Based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Invicto will come with several premium features, including a 10-inch touchscreen system, dual-zone air conditioning, wireless charging, leatherette seats, and LED headlamps.

Under the hood, the Invicto is expected to be powered by the same 2-liter petrol-hybrid engine found in the Hycross. This engine produces 186PS of power and claims a fuel efficiency of up to 23.24kmpl. It will be mated to a single-speed e-CVT transmission.

Next-Gen BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Spotted for the First Time

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which is a compact sport sedan with an additional pair of doors, is getting a new generation. Recent spy shots show that development is underway, with production expected to start in late 2024.

One of the notable features at the front end is the unusual layout of BMW’s kidney grilles. Unlike the traditional design, this model has a smaller version of the grilles in the center of the nose, with two larger openings on each side. However, it’s worth noting that the white mesh used in the larger sections is likely not the final production-spec part.

New 2024 Ferrari SF90 XX: A Powerful Racer for the Road

The 2024 Ferrari SF90 XX is a plug-in hybrid flagship that incorporates all the technical features typically found in a track-only XX car, according to Enrico Galliera, the marketing and commercial head of Ferrari. The car includes the lightest seats ever fitted in a Ferrari, resulting in a 10kg weight reduction compared to the conventional SF90 Stradale. The SF90 XX Spider weighs 1660kg.

Ferrari hasn’t revealed the lap time achieved by the SF90 XX around Fiorano, but Galliera stated that the performance improvement compared to the regular SF90 is substantial. As a result, Ferrari plans to hold a dedicated announcement event later this year. The regular SF90 currently holds the record for road cars at the circuit, completing a lap in 1:19.00.

The starting price for the SF90 XX was €770,000 (£660,000) for the Stradale coupe and €850,000 (£730,000) for the Spider. However, all 1398 units (799 Stradales and 599 Spiders) have already been sold to Ferrari’s most loyal clients. Deliveries of the Stradale will begin in the second quarter of 2024, followed by the Spider in the final quarter of next year.

SF90 XX: A Surprise Addition

2024 Ferrari SF90 XX Spider rear quarter static

Ferrari originally did not plan to develop a more focused version of the SF90, as they believed they had already pushed the limits of available technology during its development. According to Galliera, it typically takes a year to develop a new product, and the same was true for this car.

He stated, “The project was even more complex than usual because when we conceived the SF90, we didn’t anticipate creating an evolution of it. That’s why we call it a supercar. Normally, a supercar aims to achieve the highest level of technology at that moment. Thus, improving the SF90 further, considering its existing performance, was not an easy task. So, essentially, it took the same amount of time, but the effort was tremendous.”

Popular Free Channels Every Roku Streaming Stick User Should Install

Tubi provides a wide range of free TV shows and movies, including both new releases and classics. Although you will encounter advertisements at regular intervals, the extensive content library makes it worth it. Tubi offers a diverse selection of options, from the original “Transformers: Generation 1” to the former HBO Max series “Lovecraft Country.”

The occasional ads can be a bit distracting, but they are similar to what you experience when watching cable television. Tubi claims that ads typically appear every 15 minutes. While it may be perfect for TV show enthusiasts, watching a movie on Tubi can be slightly bothersome due to the interruptions. In addition to TV shows and movies, Tubi also features a limited selection of live TV channels, including local news and a few sports channels. Considering its vast content library, Tubi is considered one of the top streaming services available, which explains its increasing popularity year after year.
