When Fiat Topolino meets Topolino, magic happens

  • A FIAT tribute to the 100th Disney anniversary: five unique Fiat Topolino, four designed by FIAT Centro Stile inspired by Disney Creatives and one with the participation of the Disney artist Giorgio Cavazzano.
  • A longstanding relationship dating back to the 1930s: Topolino is the Italian name of Mickey Mouse, and the nickname people gave to the iconic first Fiat 500. Today is the name of the new electric quadricycle.
  • The media event (LINK) was held by Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and CMO of Stellantis Global, and Daniel Frigo, Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company Italy & Turkey and Head of Studio Italy.
  • To celebrate further Mickey Mouse and the Fiat Topolino, an exhibition of these 5 unique pieces, in collaboration with Pinacoteca Agnelli, will be set up in the North ramp of the Lingotto building.

FIAT homages Disney ‘s 100th anniversary with an exclusive gift, by designing 5 theme-based versions of the new Fiat Topolino dedicated to Mickey Mouse.

The presentation of the five Topolino one-offs took place at Casa 500, on the fourth floor of the prestigious art institution “Pinacoteca Agnelli” where to experience a journey through art and time on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Disney and the 95th anniversary of Mickey Mouse, and also the centenary of Lingotto.

Olivier Francois, FIAT CEO and Global Stellantis CMO, commented: “The stories of FIAT and Disney are rooted together as both Disney and the Lingotto celebrate their 100th anniversaries, and the 2 Topolinos – the Disney icon and the very first Fiat 500 – have been inspiring art, street art and fashion for decades. We have so much more in common than a name: DNA, authenticity, the importance of bringing people simplicity, warmth, and joy. The value of letting people see the world and the future with a smile and optimism, the way to get connected with a younger audience.

The new Fiat Topolino will play its part in that by offering ‘smiling’ electric mobility to people. Today I am proud to present our tribute to Disney with five special Topolino one-offs, all inspired by the iconic Disney character that motivated our Topolino’s nickname back in the 1930s.”

Daniel Frigo, Country Manager of The Walt Disney Company Italy & Turkey and Head of Studio Italy, stated: “At Disney we are incredibly proud to be part of the culture and amazing creativity of Italy. This love for Italy has inspired us to forge a relationship based on respect and trust with both Italians, as well as FIAT. We are truly honored to be able to celebrate our 100th anniversary with this magical moment that brings FIAT and Topolino together once again, in the spirit of creativity and the bond of friendship.”

To celebrate the captivating alliance, a traditional car event was not enough: it resulted in a project that involved two Design teams with different expertise having fun together to realize something magical that would have breached people’s hearts transforming “the Mouse” into a Muse. Those unique Fiat Topolino represent a journey through time and art: from the time when both Topolinos were born, to today. With the goal of creating something iconic that could bring two stars together.

To celebrate further Mickey Mouse and the Fiat Topolino, an exhibition of these 5 unique pieces, in collaboration with Pinacoteca Agnelli, will be set up in the North ramp of the Lingotto building. Visitors to the shopping center will take a walk along the ramp and admire the 5 Fiat Topolino one-offs as they reach the track. A beautiful combination in the name of creativity and popular culture.

Inspired by Disney creatives, FIAT Centro Stile gave the four Fiat Topolino a second skin, a skin that lets it express any aspect of the other Topolino’s world, furthermore, the fifth one was designed with the special collaboration of the Disney artist Cavazzano.

In addition to Cavazzano’s celebratory design, the other four Topolino – works of art – are rooted in a distinct ambiance and artistic movement for each of them. These moods are centred around four themes: historical, modern, street, and abstract.

The story starts with the historical theme to which the Fiat Topolino pays tribute. It is literally inspired to the graphics of the first Disney short film “Steamboat Willie”, beloved by the people, which not only came with the revolutionary innovation of synchronised sound in the world of animation but also was immortalised as an exhibit at MoMA in New York.

The modern art inspired Fiat Topolino incorporates a texture with Mickey Mouse’s initials as a second skin to provide a feeling of positive energy, celebrating the shared forward-looking view in a bright, colourful, optimistic way of FIAT and Disney: both brands take on iconic status in modern art and culture.

The abstract livery is an homage to another aspect of Disney’s creativity and the way it re-news classic styling cues through abstract graphic touches and symbols. Giving things really strong visual impact, but also a feeling of elegance.

Finally, the street creativity contains graffiti references that pay homage to Mickey Mouse with an urban twist while boosting joyful urban mobility which inspired the last work of art.

The Disney and Lingotto centenary celebrations were a joint effort to honor two iconic figures: both small in stature but huge in appeal, honored through the creation of five one-offs, which were meant to be a birthday gift for Disney, revolving around the magical atmosphere that surrounds two icons who have written history in their field, making people dream in the name of “Topolino”.

Porsche quietly updated its iconic crest in June to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary. Now, Turbo models will come with a special badge in a new Turbonite finish, crafted by experts from the Porsche Color & Trim division, adding an extra touch of exclusivity.

The same team responsible for Porsche’s body colors and the Paint-To-Sample (PTS) program will use Turbonite for more than just the badge. Turbo models will also feature rear lettering and side window borders with the unique Turbonite finish, known as the Daylight Opening (DLO).

Porsche Turbonite Trim For Turbo Models

Depending on the Turbo model chosen, the Turbonite finish will also be applied to the aero blades, wheel spokes, and front apron inlays. The front crest and alloys will be given the same distinctive appearance to complete the exterior makeover. Inside, the steering wheel badge and various elements such as buttons, belt straps, and trim strips will also receive the Turbonite treatment.

Customers opting for a powerful Turbo model with a black interior will have the option to have contrasting Turbonite accents on the seat yarn, door cards, instrument panel, and floor mats.

The highly anticipated third-generation Panamera is set to debut on November 24, promising the Turbo treatment from day one. Porsche has already announced a Turbo E-Hybrid model with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric motor delivering around 650 horsepower.

This powerful sedan will be capable of reaching 62 mph in an estimated 2.9 seconds, with power delivered to both axles through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The electric motor will be powered by a 25.9-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, offering an estimated electric range of 25 miles for the large PHEV Panamera, which is projected to weigh around 5,380 pounds.

Porsche revealed these details when we had the chance to drive a prototype of the new Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. A more potent S version is expected to arrive later in the model’s lifecycle, following the footsteps of the 729-hp hybrid V8 available for the latest Cayenne.

Watch This Enduro Ace Make His Honda Africa Twin Dance Through A Work Site

On November 1, 2023, Hoonigan celebrated its 12-year anniversary. Ken Block, who inspired many people around the world, was remembered during this time. Among those inspired by Block is hard enduro rider Kirian Mirabet Vidiella, who has created another Gymkhana tribute on his Honda Africa Twin in Madrid.

The new tribute video, titled “Gymkhana 2: Desguaces La Torre,” follows the first tribute video Mirabet made after Block’s death. This time, he showcases his skills at the massive Desguaces la Torre facility in Madrid.

Desguaces la Torre is an authorized treatment center for cars, where discarded vehicles are handled in an environmentally friendly manner. The facility has been operating since 1982, dismantling vehicles and recycling usable parts while disposing of the rest responsibly.

The highlight of the video is watching Mirabet showcase his skills on the Honda Africa Twin, with the help of his Insta360 camera and a skilled drone pilot capturing every move. It’s the perfect Friday treat, especially for those working in offices. However, attempting these stunts is not recommended for safety reasons.

After impressing with his stunts at Desguaces la Torre, Mirabet finds the perfect getaway vehicle in the form of a panel van. Despite its size, the Honda Africa Twin fits inside the van, allowing him to leave the site incognito.

Whether you attempt daring stunts or simply enjoy a fun and rewarding weekend, we hope it’s as great as Mirabet’s performance.

Here Are Three More 2024 Bikes That Kawasaki Just Premiered In Japan

Kawasaki has made big waves at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 with the introduction of its 40th anniversary Ninja lineup. Enthusiasts have reacted positively to this revival of a beloved vintage paint and graphics scheme. Motorcycle fans love the nostalgia for historic moto design high points.

In addition to the Ninjas, Kawasaki has also unveiled a few other bikes at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. It’s not clear yet if these bikes will be released in other markets. Let’s take a closer look at all three models.

Kawasaki Meguro S1

Kawasaki filed a trademark application for the name ‘Meguro’ back in 2019. Meguro comes from one of the companies that merged to form Kawasaki back in 1964. The Kawasaki Meguro K3, introduced in December 2020, was based on the W800. However, it was unlikely to come to the US since the W800 was already available there.

Now, in October 2023, Kawasaki has unveiled the new Meguro S1 at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. While full specs have not been released, Kawasaki claims that this bike is powered by an air-cooled, 250cc single-cylinder engine. It is considered the proper successor to the 1964 Kawasaki 250 Meguro SG.

Many markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America have a love for retro-styled, air-cooled, small-displacement singles, making the Meguro S1 a potential candidate for those regions. However, in the US, street bikes in the 250cc range are not as popular. The US market tends to prefer higher displacements for street bikes. Therefore, it is unlikely that the Meguro S1 will be released in the US at this point.

Kawasaki W230

The W230 is another addition to Kawasaki’s vintage motorcycle collection. It shares design elements with the W800 but in a smaller package. The Kawasaki W230 features an air-cooled, single overhead cam single-cylinder engine and a steel double cradle frame that exudes classic motorcycle style. Similar to the Meguro S1, it is more likely to be introduced in markets that appreciate smaller-displacement bikes rather than in the US.

2024 Kawasaki KLX230

The KLX230, a popular dual sport bike, is already available in various markets, including the US. Kawasaki unveiled the updated 2024 KLX230 at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. This new model features changes to the frame, suspension, wheel travel, headlights, and seat thickness. While full specifications are not yet available, Kawasaki confirms that the 2024 KLX230 will have switchable ABS and smartphone connectivity. It’s expected to be released in markets where the previous model was available, suggesting that it will make its way to the US.
