Peugeot 3008

Visually, the 3008 and e-3008 are nearly as good as equivalent. The solely modifications aside from an ‘e’ badge in front of ‘3008’ on the bootlid are that the wheel arches are slightly less flared and don’t get a gloss end on the hybrid. Full geek factors for those who additionally spot that the tyres are 10mm narrower too.

The two vehicles share the identical sheet steel, design and dimensions (4542mm lengthy and 1895mm huge), so the 3008 sits within the coronary heart of the still-booming C-SUV segment and goes up towards the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai Tucson

Underneath, although, there are modifications to the STLA Medium structure (one thing that shall be rolled out throughout each Stellantis model’s mid-size fashions), not least because the hybrid model does with out the hunking nice 98kWh battery pack that the e-3008 is ready to accommodate.

The crash constructions are the identical, and it’s the necessity to carry these beefed-up security necessities for crash safety of the battery that designate a part of the 3008’s added 100kg-plus heft over a lot of its rivals.

The entrance suspension is basically the identical, though the hybrid has a beam axle on the rear as an alternative of the EV’s multi-link association.

The commonality is such that the 2 vehicles will run down the identical manufacturing line in Sochaux, France, and be launched on the identical time (UK orders now, deliveries in April), earlier than being joined by a plug-in hybrid variant later this yr.

2024 Peugeot E-3008: Longer Range and Larger Display

The third-generation Peugeot 3008 has been unveiled by the French automaker, marking a new era for its best-selling model in terms of electric powertrains and interior technology. The all-electric version, called the E-3008, is the first series production model based on the STLA Medium platform developed by Stellantis. It will be available in two trim levels (Allure and GT) with three electric powertrain options.

Three Zero-Emissions Powertrain Options

The first powertrain option features a 73 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor, with a maximum power output of 210 horsepower and an estimated range of 326 miles on a full charge. The second option is a dual-motor version with the same battery and front motor, along with an additional rear electric motor. This configuration increases the power output to 320 horsepower and delivers the same estimated range of 326 miles. The third option offers a long-range version with a larger 98 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor, providing a maximum range of 435 miles.

Various driving modes are available, including a 4WD mode in the dual-motor variant that distributes power to all four wheels when needed.

Charging And Vehicle-To-Load (V2L)

The E-3008 can be charged using either AC or DC power. It comes with a standard onboard charger that can accept up to 11 kW from a three-phase source, with an optional 22 kW charger available. The charging port is located on the rear left mudguard.

2024 Peugeot 3008 Fleet Spotted Testing with Sleeker Design

The next-generation Peugeot 3008 has been seen on the streets during its summer testing. Previously seen in snowy conditions, the compact crossover is now sporting a white camo wrap that partially obscures its new features. However, recent spy photos have provided us with a clearer look at the changes.

Despite the camo wrap, it’s evident that the new model will have simpler and straighter body lines along the side, a departure from the current model. The front of the vehicle also appears to be more streamlined, with slimmer headlights and a refined grille. Although the size of the grille seems similar to the current model, it may have gained some width, resulting in cleaner lines.

PEUGEOT REVEALS NEW PANORAMIC i-COCKPIT®

PEUGEOT has revealed the new look panoramic i-Cockpit® that will debut on the new PEUGEOT 3008 later this year. The next-generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® features a 21-inch high-definition curved panoramic screen floating above the dashboard, a new compact steering wheel and touch-sensitive i-Toggles.

PEUGEOT celebrated 10 years of i-Cockpit® innovation this year with almost 10 million units sold. The different generations of PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® have included the latest technologies available – including a digital instrument cluster, wireless connectivity, voice commands, 3D effects, and customisable i-Toggles. The next generation i-Cockpit® continues this tradition of innovation by including a curved 21-inch high-definition floating touchscreen that incorporates the head-up display and central touchscreen.

The new design brings together two of the three fundamental elements of the i-Cockpit®, the raised head-up display and a large central touchscreen. These are now built into a curved panoramic screen made up of a single 21-inch high-definition panel, which extends from the left-hand end of the dashboard to the centre console. The screen is attached by a rear mount that is invisible from the passenger compartment to create a ‘floating’ effect, accentuated by LED mood lighting beneath the screen.

The screen is positioned for optimum ergonomics and is slightly curved towards the driver while remaining accessible to the passenger. It combines two key functions of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®:

  • On the left-hand side of the panoramic screen, the instrument cluster displays all the information relating to driving such as speed, power meter, driving aids and energy flow, all above the compact steering wheel.

  • On the right-hand side, in the centre of the dashboard, the touchscreen section is accessible to both driver and passenger. It can be used to control the heating/air conditioning, navigation, media/connectivity and other systems.

The central part of the dashboard houses the i-Toggles, fully customisable touch-sensitive buttons that can be programmed with 10 pre-sets to provide rapid access to the user’s favourite functions, such as calling a favourite contact, starting navigation to a frequently used destination, tuning the radio to a favourite station, or setting the ideal temperature for the air conditioning.

The centre console is airy and uncluttered to increase the space available for storage and wireless smartphone charging. This has been made possible by moving the automatic gearbox selector to the dashboard, to the side of the steering wheel, and just next to the car’s stop/start button. This allows easy access to the gearbox control and to stop or start the engine in a single intuitive gesture.

The compact steering wheel has always been a fundamental element of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® and has been extensively reworked to offer an even greater driving feel and comfort. It has retained its compactness, yet features a more modern design – the redesigned central cushion is smaller and ‘isolated’ from the steering wheel spokes to give a levitating effect similar to the panoramic screen on the dashboard.

The controls located on the new compact steering wheel are now ‘tactile clicking’ for optimum user ergonomics. To avoid any accidental inputs, they automatically detect the driver’s fingers but are only activated when pressed.

The 21-inch floating panoramic screen is not the only element that contributes to the spectacular look of the new PEUGEOT panoramic i-Cockpit®. The strong appeal and technological character are enhanced by the ambient lighting which extends across the entire width of the dashboard and door panels. This lighting is reflected on an elegant piece of aluminium and can be customised in eight different colours.

PEUGEOT LAUNCHES OPERATION #CAMOCATCH AHEAD OF NEW PEUGEOT 3008 REVEAL

Ahead of the reveal of the new PEUGEOT 3008 in September 2023, PEUGEOT is launching an operation across social media to allow budding designers to choose the camouflage for the new model.

Camouflaged prototypes of the new PEUGEOT 3008 will be on the roads of Europe this summer, and PEUGEOT’s #CamoCatch Operation opens the door for the public to have their say on how the long-awaited model will look ahead of launch.

Camouflaging has become widespread practice across the automotive industry in the early stages of new product development, concealing the vehicle’s bodywork ahead of the final unveiling. By opening this important design phase to the public, PEUGEOT is embedding its design expertise into every detail of the development process.

The PEUGEOT designers have created 10 new, high impact and innovative camouflage patterns, which can conceal the details of the new PEUGEOT 3008’s exterior, whilst demonstrating the expertise of PEUGEOT’s graphic design team.

PEUGEOT launched the initiative earlier today (15 May), with the first phase running until 2 June. PEUGEOT’s social media channels will invite the public to choose their favourite camouflage(s) from among the 10 options. Votes will be open across all of PEUGEOT’s UK social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.

The six camouflage designs that receive the most votes will be produced in June and used to cover the new PEUGEOT 3008 models that will be taking part in the open road testing this summer.

The new PEUGEOT 3008 camouflaged cars will take to the road between 1 July and 15 August. Anyone who sees the new model is invited to take a photo and post the picture on the PEUGEOT social media accounts with the hashtag #CamoCatch.

A selection of participants who have taken part will be invited to an exclusive drive of the car early in 2024.

PEUGEOT has been implementing a strategy of collaboration and partnership with young designer artists, such as J. Demsky and Emeric Tchatchoua, since the beginning of 2023.
