  • Available by the end of 2023

PLANO, Texas (August 8, 2023) – The 2024 Lexus RX builds upon the refined features introduced in the fifth generation RX in 2023. Taking into consideration customer feedback, the 2024 RX enhances the available technology and convenience features to improve the driving and in-cabin experience. The highly anticipated 2024 RX 450h+ Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle is also added to complete the electrified lineup.

For 2024, two new exterior colors, Cloudburst Gray and Copper Crest, are added to the available options on select grades. The 2024 RX is expected to be available by the end of 2023.

The 2024 RX is offered in six grades: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and F SPORT Performance.

The GA-K Platform Difference

The 2024 RX is built on the GA-K platform, which is designed to be lighter than the previous generation’s platform. With a lower center of gravity achieved through the use of stronger metals, innovative adhesives, and welds, the 2024 RX promises excellent stability and enhanced handling. The platform’s rear section features a multi-link suspension design, attached to a rigid high-torsion rear body frame for optimal suspension input and consistent performance.

The GA-K platform provides ample legroom for rear passengers and generous cargo space. Additionally, it features a low back door trim for easy loading.

A Powertrain for Everyone

The 2024 RX offers a range of powertrain options to suit different preferences and needs:

  • RX 350 (FWD/AWD): Powered by a 275-hp turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a center injection system, lightweight pistons, and a continuously variable capacity oil pump. It is equipped with an eight-speed Direct Shift-8AT and offers a front-to-rear driving force distribution for optimal performance.
  • RX 350h (AWD): A hybrid motor combined with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine, paired with a high-output, low-resistance nickel-metal hydride battery. It offers 246 total system horsepower and is available with E-Four, Lexus’ all-wheel drive system.
  • RX 450h+ (AWD): Powered by a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, the RX 450h+ hybrid system delivers luxury performance and a manufacturer-estimated combined 83 MPGe rating. It offers a 35-mile driving range on electric power alone.
  • RX 500h F SPORT Performance AWD: Equipped with a high-performance hybrid system that combines a 271-hp 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine with an integrated Power Control Unit and electric motor. It offers a total output of 366 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque.

Suspension

The 2024 RX features MacPherson front struts for sharp turn-in and confident handling. The rear suspension is a five-arm multi-link setup, which maximizes cabin space and provides a comfortable ride. The available Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) offers further control and stability by adjusting the damping force based on driving conditions.

Braking and Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS)

The braking system of the 2024 RX includes two-piston calipers for smooth speed control. For F SPORT Handling and F SPORT Performance grades, six-piston aluminum calipers and larger front rotors enhance braking performance. The F SPORT Performance grade also features Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS), which improves maneuverability at different speeds by coordinating rear wheel movements.

Bold, Alluring Design

Exterior Features

The 2024 RX showcases a strong and dynamic design. Its spindle body grille, optimized proportions, and sleek lines convey a sense of athleticism and sophistication. Enhanced aerodynamics contribute to improved handling, and the available 19- or 21-inch wheels add a touch of elegance. Lexus Driving Signature: A Symphony of Luxury and Performance

Clack, clack, clack.

As the conductor taps the podium, the audience brims with anticipation. Each instrument will soon unite, the captivating beauty the symphony evokes relying on a bond. It’s a seemingly effortless connection, and the resulting music will drive the audience to bliss.

Except this isn’t a concert hall. There isn’t an orchestra. And that’s not a conductor.

It’s a driver at the helm of their new Lexus, which has been impeccably tuned to the Lexus Driving Signature. It’s a vehicle orchestrating the perfect balance of luxury and performance to deliver an exceptional driving experience.

Since its introduction in 2020, the Lexus Driving Signature has been the guiding philosophy behind the development of Lexus vehicles, residing at the core of every innovation. Discover the principles Lexus employs to bring the music of the road to drivers’ fingertips.

In the Key of Linear Connection

At the heart of the Lexus Driving Signature is the concept of a “linear connection.” Like the harmony in a symphony, it’s the union of the driver and the vehicle that enables a more predictable, confident and engaging experience. This linear operation of the steering wheel, accelerator and brake pedal results in precise response and feedback — so car and driver act as a single unit.

This immediate connection between inputs and responses is present in all Lexus vehicles, including high-performance models like the 2023 Lexus IS 500.

With its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine generating 472 hp and 395 lb.-ft. of torque, there’s no question about its power. But in a breathtaking dance of speed and grace, the 2023 Lexus IS also delivers superb handling and responsiveness, and exceptional cornering at high speeds. Lightweight vehicle components and torsional rigidity create a strong linear connection, allowing the 2023 Lexus IS to elegantly navigate the most challenging roads in an intricate choreography of performance and control.

The SUV Serenade

Every Lexus SUV offers a unique driving experience tailored to specific needs and the Lexus Driving Signature remains ever-present.

Drivers can expect a smooth and more comfortable ride from SUVs like the 2023 Lexus LX 600 as the Lexus Driving Signature extends its influence to the interior of the vehicle. Through a driver-focused interior layout and optimally positioned controls, the LX integrates the design philosophy known as “tazuna”, or a horse’s rein, highlighting the direct connection between the driver and vehicle, much like that between a horse and rider.

In high-performance SUVs such as the 2023 RX 500h F SPORT Performance, drivers experience the marriage of comfort with the thrilling crescendo of speed. Featuring the Lexus-first DIRECT4 drivetrain designed to provide maximum grip, traction and acceleration in most every situation, the RX all-wheel drive system applies drive force between the front and rear axles in mere milliseconds. This allows the 2023 RX to take full advantage of its 366 net combined hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque.

A dynamic range of SUV driving experiences, from serene to exhilarating, demonstrates the versatility and adaptability of the Lexus Driving Signature.

The Electric Encore

Innovations centered on the Lexus Driving Signature continue to shape Lexus vehicles and the all-electric 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is an excellent example of this evolution.

Paired with the all-new e-TNGA platform and DIRECT4 system, Lexus Driving Signature is reflected through the RZ’s tactile steering feel, linear responses of steering, braking and acceleration and ride comfort.

A first for Lexus, the e-TNGA platform offers ideal placement of mass and high-body rigidity, while the 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack lives under the vehicle floor for a low center of gravity. By reducing weight and increasing rigidity, the 2023 RZ uses its lightweight steel platform to contribute to a comfortable and quiet ride.

Utilizing the DIRECT4 system, the RZ 450e also optimizes torque distribution between the front and rear eAxles so acceleration feels smooth and responsive. And with the Active Hydraulic Booster-G (AHB-G) braking system, reducing vehicle speed becomes as natural and comfortable as ever.

Thanks to the Lexus Driving Signature, drivers of Lexus BEVs can expect an engaging drive that caters to their desires for luxury, performance and enjoyment. And as they step up to their personal podium — their Lexus cockpit —  drivers will continue to experience a masterful performance that always demands an encore.

Favorite Drives From Lexus Racing Drivers

In the course of fulfilling regular errands and routine responsibilities, from daily commutes to child-activity runarounds, it can be easy to forget that the Lexus vehicle you’re driving is also designed for pure on-the-road joy.

We could remind you of this fact by delving into the myriad Lexus features that contribute to driving pleasure, such as paddle shifters, sequential-shift transmissions, quick Lexus Hybrid Drive accelerations, Drive Mode Select, and the like.

But we’re not going to do that.

Instead, we’d like to turn your attention to some fellow Lexus drivers who know a lot about Lexus-vehicle enjoyment—the 2023 Lexus Vasser Sullivan Racing team. These are drivers who understand what it is to drive, really drive, a Lexus, which of course they’ve been doing throughout this year’s thrilling Lexus Motorsports season (including a recent double win at Six Hours of the Glen).

Trademarks shown are those of their respective owners

Trademarks shown are those of their respective owners

However, they also know the importance of finding driving pleasure anywhere, in any capacity one finds fun, which is why we asked them to share their own favorite off-track stretches of road. Consider it inspiration to seek out—or revisit—your own favorite Lexus-driving spots:

Aaron Telitz (five years driving a Lexus RC F GT3 for Vasser Sullivan)

“My all-time favorite stretch of road is a little county road outside of my hometown of Birchwood, Wisconsin. The road is called ‘County Road DD.’ It weaves its way from Lake Chetac to Big Birch Lake and eventually the edge of Birchwood. The road is never straight with multiple blind and off-camber corners. I grew up driving on DD almost every day, even though it was the long way to Birchwood! On a drive up north to visit my parents in 2021, I had a beautiful and took the long way home to take it down DD for old times’ sake.”

Ben Barnicoat (two years driving for Lexus Racing)

“My favorite drive off the racetrack had to be recently going down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to do that in April 2022. I had the opportunity to drive an LC 500 convertible, and the sun was shining so I had the roof down. It was just a beautiful drive. I’m a huge fan of the ocean, so it was nice to drive and see the ocean views. The team spends so much time in the racecars driving as fast as we can, pushing our Lexus RC F GT3 vehicles to the limit, so the Pacific drive was obviously a very different experience. It was super relaxing driving the speed limit, and nice and chill because you want to go slow and appreciate the scenery that surrounds you. Quite different to what we do when we’re racing, but an incredible memory of great views and a great road with a lot of tight and twisting lanes.”

Frankie Montecalvo (five years driving a Lexus RC F GT3 for Vasser Sullivan)

“My favorite stretch of road to drive off the track would have to be at a national recreation area at Sandy Hook, which is located near my home in New Jersey. It’s just a beautiful stretch. It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, yet you’ve got the beach on one side and the river on the other. It’s just a great drive right along the coast, and it’s an especially nice drive at sunset.”

Jack Hawksworth (seven years driving for Lexus Racing)

“My favorite road is a winding road behind the town of Bingley, near my hometown of Bradford, England, where I grew up. The road runs past a pub called Dick Hudsons, so we always used to refer to that stretch as ‘Dick Hudsons’.’ Back in the day, my mates and I used to drive our little hatchbacks over that road every evening. I had a little yellow one at the time that used to break down every other week. It had a huge stereo and a Sparco gear lever in it! Good times!”

By the way, if you’re not already, make sure to follow the team throughout the 2023 Lexus Racing season at @LexusRacingUSA on Instagram or Facebook and follow the team all year at Lexus.com/motorsports.

  • Ultra Luxury grade now comes standard with 18-inch wheels with a Vapor Chrome finish

PLANO, Texas (June 28, 2023) – The 2024 Lexus ES, the top-selling sedan in the Lexus lineup, receives minor updates for the new model year. These updates include the addition of an available Technology Package and the inclusion of 18-inch wheels with a Vapor Chrome finish as standard on the Ultra Luxury grade. With its range of powerful engines, all-wheel drive capability, and two F SPORT models, the 2024 ES continues to cater to a diverse range of lifestyles. The new 2024 ES is expected to arrive in dealerships in summer 2023.

Choose Your Own Adventure

The Lexus ES rides on the Global Architecture-K (GA-K) platform, which is a front-wheel drive chassis made from high-strength steel. The construction method used, called Laser Screw Welding, ensures a strong and robust structure. The suspension is finely tuned to provide optimal responsiveness. The front suspension features a strut angle that improves ride quality, while the rear suspension utilizes a trailing arm and a multilink setup for enhanced responsiveness. The ES 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers both performance and efficiency. The ES 250 AWD offers all-wheel drive capability, while the ES 300h features a hybrid powertrain for improved fuel efficiency.

“F” is for Fun

The F SPORT Design and F SPORT Handling grades are available on all three powertrains (ES 350, ES 250 AWD, and ES 300h). These grades add sporty exterior styling elements, such as unique front bumpers, grille surrounds, and rear spoilers. The F SPORT Handling grade further enhances the driving experience with features like Sport+ and Custom Drive modes, F SPORT-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), a heated F SPORT steering wheel, and Hadori aluminum trim, aluminum pedals, and black headliner.

Provocative Elegance, Refined

The 2024 ES features a dynamic and sleek design, with a coupe-like silhouette inherited from the flagship LS. The front end is highlighted by the Lexus Signature Grille and striking Bi-LED headlamps. The ES offers a variety of wheel designs to choose from, ranging from 17-inch to 19-inch options. The exterior is available in 11 different colors, including exclusive colors for the F SPORT models.

Spacious and Inviting Cabin

The interior of the 2024 ES blends a driver-centric cockpit with comfortable seating for passengers. The instrument panel design integrates seamlessly with the Lexus Interface, which is displayed on an eight-inch touchscreen. The Technology Package, available on all models, includes a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, a Head-Up Display, and a SmartAccess Card Key. The ES offers a wide range of interior color options, including different trim materials and finishes.

Lexus Interface and Connected Services

The 2024 ES is equipped with Lexus Interface, which provides enhanced connectivity features, including Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. The system can be controlled through touch and voice activation. With the active Drive Connect three-year trial, drivers and passengers have access to Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist. Intelligent Assistant allows for voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, and more. Other features of the Lexus Interface system include dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay integration, Android Auto compatibility, and a Wi-Fi Connect trial.

Safety and Convenience

The 2024 ES comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which includes a range of active safety and convenience features. These features include Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), and Road Sign Assist (RSA).
