Givi Gears Up For Adventure With New Trekker Outback Evo Luggage

When it comes to touring, having reliable luggage solutions is a must. Most stock setups lack the capacity to carry all the essentials for a long trip, regardless of the type of bike you ride. This is where aftermarket manufacturers like Italian specialist Givi come in with their wide range of luggage options designed specifically for motorcycle enthusiasts.

At EICMA 2023, Givi unveiled its new Outback Evo lineup crafted for adventure riders. These heavy-duty luggage pieces, as the name suggests, are built to withstand harsh conditions similar to those encountered in the Australian Outback.

Givi offers frame mounts for these side bags for models such as the Suzuki V-Strom 800, BMW R 1200/1250 GS, and Honda Africa Twin 1100, making them efficiently compatible. Customized BMW 6 Series Features Luxurious Leather Interior

The BMW 6 Series, which was in production from 1976 to 1989, was known for its sleek and elegant design as a grand touring coupe. Carlex Design, a tuner from Poland, has undertaken the task of enhancing the interior of this classic BMW to create a more luxurious cabin than what was originally available from the factory. They are planning to create seven of these custom cars.

The first completed example is a 1986 635 CSi with a sleek black exterior and a set of multi-spoke wheels. Carlex has chosen to maintain the classic coupe’s sharp exterior styling and has only added their own badges and emblems to the outside.

BMW Is Updating the Design of the M3 Touring

Recent spy shots reveal that the BMW M3 Touring is undergoing a styling refresh. The wagon model is now covered in camouflage at the front as BMW gives the M3 lineup a mid-cycle makeover.

The front bumper and part of the hood of the M3 Touring are still camouflaged, suggesting that there might not be any visible design changes. However, BMW plans to update the car’s headlight graphics. As for the rear, there seem to be no significant design modifications, as BMW didn’t bother concealing it.

Watch the BMW M3 Touring Speed around the Nurburgring

The BMW M3 Touring is a combination of a high-performance sedan and a spacious wagon, allowing owners to carry more cargo. German publication Sport Auto had the opportunity to test the wagon’s speed on the 12.8-mile version of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Driver Christian Gebhardt completed the lap in 7 minutes and 34.39 seconds.

For comparison, BMW did an official lap of the M3 Touring around the ‘Ring with driver Jörg Weidinger. He completed the 12.8-mile layout in 7 minutes and 30.3 seconds. The longer 12.94-mile version took 7 minutes and 35.060 seconds, setting a new record for wagons on the famous track. It’s worth noting that the asphalt was partially damp during the record lap, suggesting that Weidinger could have achieved an even faster time under ideal conditions.

BMW i5 Touring Seen Testing at Nurburgring with Light Camouflage

The latest sighting of the BMW i5 Touring shows the electric wagon speeding around the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife and nearby roads. While partially camouflaged, the rear section is the only area covered.

The front of the vehicle is identical to the i5 sedan. It features the signature closed-off kidney grilles and a trapezoidal inlet in the lower fascia. The outer edges of the front also have vertical openings.

BMW M5 Touring Spotted with Less Camouflage in Latest Spy Shots

The highly-anticipated BMW M5 Touring is currently in the advanced stages of development, and recently captured spy shots show the vehicle with less camouflage than previous sightings. It is anticipated that the official debut may take place towards the end of this year or early 2024, with sales of the wagon commencing in 2024.

At the front, the M5 Touring boasts a production-ready appearance. Notably, there is an aggressive front fascia featuring prominent, trapezoidal openings, along with air curtains positioned on the outer edges. The headlights possess vertical running lights for added visual appeal.

Records broken as Ash Sutton secures his fourth BTCC title

Ash Sutton has become a record-equalling four-time British Touring Car Champion, clinching the title with two wins at the renowned Brands Hatch GP circuit last weekend.

The 29-year-old achieved an impressive feat of six pole positions and 12 race wins during the season, making him the first driver to claim the championship in both rear-wheel and front-wheel-drive vehicles.

Previously, the only driver to achieve six pole positions in a season was James Thompson in 2003, and the sole racer to secure 12 race wins was Alain Menu back in 1997. Sutton’s four titles now put him on par with Andy Rouse and Colin Turkington.

Sutton faced strong competition from the runner-up and outgoing champion, Tom Ingram, who finished second in the first two races. Ingram pursued Sutton throughout the season, but Sutton held onto his lead to secure the championship.

“It feels incredible, I’m lost for words,” said Sutton. “The car has been absolutely fantastic, and I’m immensely grateful to NAPA Racing UK and everyone involved. Becoming a four-time BTCC champion is an amazing achievement!”

Sutton further expressed his relief, acknowledging the pressure of maintaining his lead throughout the season. “Even though we had a significant points gap, Tom [Ingram] was right. It was ours to lose. A single bad race could have changed everything… People talk about breaking records, which is great. We always strive to push further. But what’s truly special is being the first driver to claim the title in both front-wheel and rear-wheel-drive vehicles. That’s what we were ultimately aiming for because I don’t plan to stop at four titles.”

The 2023 season concluded on a high note for BMW as Jake Hill won the final race for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport. However, BMW fell just short of securing their eighth consecutive manufacturers’ title. The NAPA Racing UK/Ford team claimed both the Manufacturers’ and Teams’ titles, while Josh Cook and his One Motorsport with Starline Racing squad took home the Independent Drivers’ and Teams’ accolades.

The Jack Sears Trophy, which saw a close competition throughout the year, was won by CarStore Power Maxed Racing’s rookie driver, Andrew Watson.

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship will return in April, with the opening rounds of the 2024 season taking place at Donington Park.

Sutton seals the deal with race one success

NAPA Racing UK’s Ash Sutton secured a lights-to-flag victory in the opening race, solidifying his lead in the championship battle.

It was a fitting win for Sutton, who was undoubtedly the star of the 2023 BTCC season. He was closely followed by his main rival for the championship, Tom Ingram of Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8.

Ingram kept the pressure on Sutton throughout the race and made a final attempt to snatch victory after a late safety car period. However, Sutton held his ground and crossed the finish line ahead of Ingram, sparking wild celebrations in the NAPA Racing UK garage.
