In the lead-up to the massive sport, BMW launched two teasers for the spot. The first, “Agent,” poked enjoyable on the custom of Super Bowl advert teasers with Walken quizzically asking his agent, “So it’s an ad for an ad?” A second, follow-up teaser titled “Singing” featured Walken driving the electrical BMW i5 whereas listening to USHER’s hit music, “Yeah!”, foreshadowing the singer’s shock look.

“Christopher Walken is iconic, as is the BMW 5 Series. It’s one icon working with another, creating a synergy of two legendary figures. You wait your whole life to make a campaign like this,” added Rich Silverstein, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of GS&P. “The reality is everyone has a Walken impression. But there’s only one original.”

5 Of Our Favorite Tesla EV Model Y Accessories

Bringing your pets along for a ride can be enjoyable, but it often results in a messy car. The flapping of their tongues causes drool flecks to fly everywhere, in addition to the shedding of fur. Cleaning all that pet hair from your car can be a hassle. To make things easier, it’s advisable to use a pet liner whenever you bring your pet with you.

Tesla offers a hammock-style safety liner called the Model S/3/Y Pet Liner, specifically designed for the second row of Tesla seats. This liner is durable and water resistant, providing protection against muddy paws, drooling jowls, and shed hair. Don’t worry, your pet’s comfort is not compromised – the liner is made of breathable quilted fleece, offering a combination of comfort and resilience for a mess-free ride.

34th BMW International Open: Lawrence wins after an exciting finish

Thriston Lawrence from South Africa emerged as the champion of the 34th BMW International Open at Golfclub München Eichenried. It was a thrilling final round, with Lawrence securing a one-shot lead with a brilliant birdie on the difficult 17th hole. Max Kieffer was the top German finisher, securing third place. The tournament attracted 51,500 visitors throughout the week and featured three hole-in-ones. Additionally, a total of 99,000 Euros were raised for the “Eagles for Education” initiative.

Lawrence recorded scores of 71, 69, 66, and 69 to finish the tournament at 13 under par (275 shots). His victory marks his fourth title on the DP World Tour. Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, People and Real Estate, Labour Relations Director, commended Lawrence for his impressive performance under challenging conditions on the Championship Course. Horstmeier also praised the exciting tournament week, which included 59 eagles and three hole-in-ones, resulting in the donation of 99,000 Euros for “Eagles for Education”. This initiative aims to promote equal opportunities and educational equality.

The BMW Group pledged to donate 1,000 Euros for every eagle scored during the BMW International Open. The funds raised were distributed to the “JOBLINGE” and “Kick ins Leben” organizations, with whom BMW has a longstanding partnership. In recognition of outstanding sporting achievements, BMW also made a 10,000 Euro donation for each hole-in-one. The “Eagles for Education” fundraising began with a 10,000 Euro donation from BMW on behalf of prominent players during the practice round, including Gareth Bale, Thomas Müller, Haotong Li, and Yannik Paul.

Starting the final round four shots behind Joost Luiten, Lawrence experienced a rollercoaster of a day. He recorded six birdies in the first 13 holes but also had five bogies. However, Lawrence finished strongly with birdies on the 15th and 17th holes. In contrast, Luiten managed only one birdie and three bogies, leaving him trailing Lawrence by one shot heading into the 18th hole. Despite a long birdie putt that had the potential to force a play-off, Luiten narrowly missed, allowing Lawrence to claim victory.

Reflecting on his win, Lawrence acknowledged Luiten’s struggles and his own consistent performance on the last four holes. He expressed pride in maintaining his composure and revealed that Ernie Els, the only previous South African winner of the BMW International Open, had been his idol and a significant influence on his career. Lawrence also mentioned the support he received from Els’ junior foundation.

Adrian Meronk, Rikuya Hoshino, Daniel Hillier, and Max Kieffer finished tied in third place at 11 under par. Kieffer, as the top German player, expressed disappointment at not seizing the opportunity for victory but praised the spectacular finish on holes 16, 17, and 18. He expressed his love for the BMW International Open and vowed to return in the future for another attempt at victory.

The best-placed amateur in the tournament was Jonas Baumgartner from GC Hösel, who finished tied in 52nd place. Baumgartner described making the cut as an amateur as a fantastic experience and emphasized the valuable lessons he learned throughout the week.

Thirteen German players, including two amateurs, successfully made the cut at the 34th BMW International Open. Marcel Schneider, Max Schmitt, Matti Schmid, Thomas Rosenmüller, Hurly Long, Velten Meyer, Marc Hammer, Jannik de Bruyn, Philipp Mejow, Michael Hirmer, and Marcel Siem were among the German contingent. Notably, a record-breaking 21 German players participated in the tournament.

2023 ERZBERG RESULTS

German Manuel Lettenbichler won his second Red Bull Erzbergrodeo in a row on Sunday, making him the seventh person in 27 editions of the race to become a multiple winner. The 25-year-old trailed Great Britain’s Billy Bolt for much of the race, before a decisive pass in the latter stages sealed victory with Canadian Trystan Hart third for the second successive year. Here is all you need to know:

Manuel Lettenbichler racing through the prologue course at Erzberg rodeo on 10th June, 2023 // Sam Strauss / Red Bull Content Pool

– Reigning FIM Hard Enduro world champion Lettenbichler overcame 500 competitors and a mountain referred to as the ‘Iron Giant’ to win Austria’s iconic race in two hours and 31 minutes. Once in the lead, Lettenbichler put on a masterclass to beat his closest challenger Bolt by 11 minutes. Of 500 starters, 16 managed to finish the course containing 27 checkpoints across varied terrain within the four-hour race time limit.

– Held in the Austrian mining town of Eisenerz and first launched in 1995, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo is the most revered race in the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. It takes place around the gravity defying Erzberg mountain, a functioning mine producing more than three million tons of iron ore per year. At each edition of the race, a mix of professionals and amateurs take part.

– Lettenbichler paced himself early in the race, trailing eventual third-place finisher Hart before taking the lead. Soon after he conceded first to a hard-charging Bolt, who had crashed at the beginning of the race and was on a mission to try and win the famed event for the first time.

– After one hour and 17 minutes chasing Bolt, Lettenbichler snatched the lead back at checkpoint 22 of 27. From there he rode off into the distance to not only win the race for a second time, but also secure wins at the first two stops of the 2023 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship.

– Lettenbichler said: “I’m speechless that I had such a big gap at the end. I don’t really believe it. I had a really good start and then Billy caught and passed me, and I tried to stay with him, but I couldn’t. He pulled a gap, so I tried to save some energy. When I could see him again, I decided to push and I would say he was pretty tired. Then I just rode a really good line to pass him. This race is such a crazy motorbike festival and everyone in the world just comes and wants to do this challenge and finish this race. It’s super unique. It feels amazing to win a second time in a row.”

– Despite seeing victory dissipate before his eyes, Briton Bolt managed to record his best finish at Red Bull Erzbergrodeo, despite a litany of drama which only became apparent after the race.

– Bolt, 25, said: “That was my worst ever start and then the next 10 minutes was a blur, and I knew I needed to pass as many people as possible before the course got technical. I bent the front disc on my bike in the crash. I also dented my exhaust pretty badly. I’ve had a fair bit of drama, all self-induced. When Mani passed me, I thought I would struggle to keep up with him. I didn’t take it easy, I just made sure I could get home in second. But all things considered, I am very, very happy.”

– Hart, who has two podiums in three attempts, said: “Back-to-back podiums, lots of people would be happy but, to be honest, I’m not super happy. I put myself in a really good position, I was leading, which I didn’t really expect and then I just got tight and made a lot of mistakes in the first hour. To get the holeshot and then make a lot of mistakes like that is kind of heartbreaking. I was right where I needed to be with Billy and Mani, and then kind of threw it all away.”

– Red Bull Erzbergrodeo marked round two of the 2023 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, however, only a small portion were elite professionals chasing the title, the rest being amateurs. The prologue narrowed 1,300 entrants to 500 qualifiers for the start of Sunday’s main race, and the predictably brutal course was mastered by just 16 riders.

– The best placed local was Austrian Michael Walkner, cousin of 2018 Dakar Rally champion Matthias Walkner, who finished seventh. Compatriot Marcel Hirscher – a multiple times gold medallist at the Olympics and World Championships in Alpine Skiing made his second start. The skier turned motorcycle racer managed to make it to checkpoint 19, an improvement on 2022 when his race ended at checkpoint 17.

I-95 Freeway Partially Collapses In Philadelphia Near Delaware River

A section of Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia collapsed around 6:30 AM Sunday morning after a large fire started under an overpass near Cottman Avenue. Officials indicated that a fuel tanker may have been the source of the fire, causing part of the northbound lanes to buckle. The southbound lanes also appear weakened by the blaze and could be structurally compromised.

Eyewitnesses reported flames shooting up from the roadway as thick black smoke filled the sky. As a result, officials closed a two-mile radius of I-95 in both directions. According to the City of Philadelphia Managing Director’s Office, it will take quite some time to address the roadway collapse, which is part of the main arterial roadway running north and south along the east coast of the United States.

While a fuel tanker fire appears to be the source of the roadway collapse, no cause has yet been determined for the fire itself. Before the fire, several explosions were heard in the area, with people reporting manhole covers “flipping like coins.” The area contains several sewer systems and a water treatment plant. Environmentally it will be hard to contain the chemicals if they spill, which could leak into the nearby Delaware River.

In addition to the potential for chemical spillage, Meteorologist Tammie Souza of CBS News in Philadelphia says winds are blowing to the north. As a result, dangerous airborne chemicals, including acids, sulfates, and nitrates, are being carried to the north and east of the city. Particulate matter, such as dust, soot, oils, and other chemicals, is also posing health concerns related to poor air quality and may leave a greasy oil film on anything in the path of the smoke. As a result, people should stay indoors until air quality improves.

Currently, there are no known injuries or fatalities. The roadway collapse is the first we’ve seen since one in Pittsburgh a year ago but will have a more serious, far-reaching effect due to the importance of the I-95 corridor. Traffic in Philadelphia could be snarled worse than in Portland, Oregon during a snowstorm for an undetermined amount of time.

DS AUTOMOBILES READY TO CELEBRATE ITS CENTURY IN FORMULA E

  • DS Automobiles will celebrate its 100th race in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship next Sunday in Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Participants in Formula E since 2015, DS Automobiles has established itself as the most decorated manufacturer in the all-electric competition as the only two-time double winning team, and has won a record number of titles and podiums
  • With PENSKE AUTOSPORT, Stoffel Vandoorne and Jean-Eric Vergne, DS Automobiles is at the forefront of the action in Season 9 Formula E

This weekend marks a significant anniversary for DS Automobiles and the world of Formula E. On Sunday 4 June, at the second race of the Jakarta E-Prix, the French manufacturer will start a Formula E race for the 100th time since its involvement in the 100% electric championship began.

DS Automobiles joined Formula E in 2015 and has made its mark on the history of electric motorsport with three generations of Formula E. Heading into its 100th race, DS Automobiles has racked up four Team and Drivers’ championship titles, 16 race victories, 47 podiums and 22 pole positions to its name.

DS Automobiles has established itself as the most decorated manufacturer in Formula E with a podium from nearly every other race it has taken part in over almost eight years. DS Automobiles is also the only team to win a double title twice (in 2019 with Jean-Eric Vergne and 2020 with Antonio Félix Da Costa).

To celebrate this anniversary, reigning world champion Stoffel Vandoorne and Jean-Eric Vergne – the only two-time champion in the history of the sport – will drive a DS E-TENSE FE23 with a one-off livery to mark the occasion. Jean-Eric Vergne, who is also a DS Automobiles ambassador, will also celebrate 100 races with a bespoke design on his helmet.

The event will be celebrated with a video featuring testimonials from the personalities who have played key a role in the DS Automobiles Formula E adventure on the brand’s social channels. These include Béatrice Foucher, Yves Bonnefont, Alessandro Agag, Jean-Marc Finot, Thomas Chevaucher, Eugenio Franzetti, Jean-Eric Vergne, Stoffel Vandoorne, Antonio Félix Da Costa, Sam Bird and André Lotterer. The video will also include clips of some of the team’s greatest moments including winning the debut title in New York, their second title in Berlin, plus victories in Sanya, Bern, Marrakesh, Monaco, Rome, and Hyderabad.

The story of DS Automobiles continues to unfold, and the two races of the Jakarta E-Prix on 3 and 4 June promise more fine performances from the French team.

Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance director, said “We’ll be experiencing a historic and moving moment for all of us in Jakarta. First of all, I’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has contributed with such passion and talent to this extraordinary event. Celebrating 100 races in Formula E is truly a milestone, and to do so with the sort of track record that we have accumulated is a source of great pride. A few years ago, DS Automobiles decided to create its DS Performance competition arm, and entered the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. This turned out to be a strategic and winning choice. Thanks to our many victories accumulated over the years, the reputation of DS Automobiles has grown considerably, and we’ve also acquired the technical experience that has helped us to support and accelerate the electrification of the entire brand. These days, the Gen3 single-seaters from DS Performance remain an excellent research laboratory to prepare our next generation of electric road cars. From 2024 in fact, all new cars from DS Automobiles will be 100% electric.”

Key figures since DS Automobiles entered Formula E:

–               98 races

–               4 championship titles

–               16 victories

–               47 podiums

–               22 pole positions
