Is Another Harley-Davidson X 440-Based Model On The Way In India?

Back in mid-September 2023, we informed you about a potential trademark dispute between Hero MotoCorp and Ultraviolette over the trademark for the X 440. This bike, developed in a partnership between Hero and Harley-Davidson, features a Harley-Davidson badge. Ultraviolette registered its opposition to this trademark, claiming that it resembled its own application for the name “X44.”

While there is no update on the specific Hero trademark at this time, there is some interesting information about another trademark filed by Hero MotoCorp. On March 6, 2023, Hero applied for two trademarks. One of them is for the name “Hurikan,” which may not seem significant on its own.

However, the second trademark filed on the same day is for “Hurikan 440.” This suggests a connection to the Harley-Davidson X440 in some way.

Both trademarks related to Hurikan have been accepted and advertised according to records from Intellectual Property India. The trademark for Hurikan 440 was published in journal 2119-0 on August 28, 2023, while the trademark for Hurikan was published in journal 2124-0 on October 2, 2023.

Although the naming convention seems related to the Harley-Davidson X 440, there is no evidence yet to suggest what exactly the Hurikan and Hurikan 440 could refer to. There have been no reports of test mules or models with these designations from Hero or other motorcycle manufacturers in India.

It is uncertain whether the names Hurikan and Hurikan 440 are intended for use under Hero MotoCorp or Harley-Davidson branding. The trademark for the X 440 was applied for by Hero MotoCorp, not Harley-Davidson, as shown in the Ultraviolette trademark opposition documents.

Typically, major motorcycle manufacturers invest time and money into research and development for a new bike and then use it as a platform for multiple models. While trademark registrations do not always translate into actual products, if Hurikan does materialize, we will keep you informed about any new developments.

Honda to introduce three concepts, including electric sports cars

Honda is set to unveil three new concept cars at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, one of which is a potential electric successor to the Honda NSX.

The first concept, called the Specialty Sports Concept, will showcase an electric sports car that aims to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, even in the era of electrification and automated driving technology.

This suggests that Honda is prioritizing raw driving performance rather than filling the car with driver aids. More details about this concept will be revealed at the show on October 25th.

Last year, Honda announced that the NSX would make a comeback as one of two future sports cars in its lineup of over 30 electric vehicles.

In addition to the electric sports car concept, Honda will also reveal a small electric car named the Sustainia-C and a two-seat micro-pod EV called the CI-MEV.

The Sustainia-C appears to take design inspiration from the Honda E electric supermini and aims to prove that cars can be sustainable without relying on precious, limited resources.

Lamborghini Westlake Client Takes His New Huracán Sterrato Off-Road

Developed to showcase the off-road potential behind high-performance Italian supercars, the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato continues its uprise as the brand’s first rally-focused production car. While the automotive world and Lamborghini enthusiasts have waited in anticipation for the Huracán Sterrato to hit public roads, collectors and owners are starting to take delivery of their dream specs. The team at O’Gara Coach x Lamborghini Westlake took to its Instagram page to show some client appreciation to Bill Waesche, who recently visited the California dealership to pick up his new Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato finished in matte Arancio Livrea with contrasting black off-road components.

Safely secured in Bill’s possession, it’s only right that his adventure-ready Lamborghini’s first drive takes place in a remote location with plenty of dirt and twists. With extra ride height clearance, all-terrain tires, protective fender flares, and rally LEDs, the West Coast trails stand no chance against Lamborghini and its sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. Under the hood of the Huracán Sterrato lies Lamborghini’s roaring 5.2-liter V10 engine, capable of pumping out a jaw-dropping 640 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. This beast is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling the Sterrato to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just about 3 seconds. The Best Hidden Samsung Foldable Features You Never Knew About

One of the main advantages of using a foldable device is its multitasking capabilities. Samsung ensures that you can accomplish a lot on any flagship Galaxy phone or tablet with recent versions of One UI, whether it has a flexible display or not. For example, on devices like the Z Fold and Tab S lines, you can run up to three apps side by side with different layouts. On the other hand, Galaxy S phones and the Z Flip line allow you to run two apps simultaneously. You have the flexibility to adjust the proportion of the screen that each app takes up by dragging the divider between them. Additionally, you can save your favorite app combinations for easy and quick launching in the same arrangement.

App pairs are often overlooked in Samsung’s split-screen feature, but they are definitely worth exploring. When you have two or more apps running side by side, they will appear as a group in your task switcher for easy access. By tapping on the three dots in the middle divider, you will see an icon shaped like a star. This allows you to save the grouping of apps in the same arrangement to one of three locations: your taskbar, your home screen, or your Edge Panel.

Let’s say you have Gmail, a web browser, and perhaps a third app like Twitter or X running concurrently. If you anticipate needing this same combination of apps in the future, you can have them all together with just a single tap.

Feds Investigating 1.1 Million Ram Trucks For Possible Steering Problem

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is looking into potential problems with power steering that could befall Ram 1500 owners. Trucks from the 2013 model year through 2016 are now under investigation, and with the popularity of pickups in North America, it’s a large investigation. 1.1 million pickups are part of this federal probe that began on August 4.

What exactly is the issue with the Ram 1500? That’s what NHTSA hopes to uncover with its investigation, but owners are reporting either partial or total loss of power steering. The agency has 380 reports from owners thus far, with the most recent coming on August 7. It involved a 2014 Ram 1500 with 118,000 miles that lost power steering while towing a camper trailer. Other owners relay similar experiences, though fortunately, no injuries have been reported thus far. However, NHTSA does mention three accidents that could be related to the failures.

The Costly Consequences of Elon Musk’s Twitter Rebrand

The announcement of the “X” rebranding has led to a series of setbacks and issues in a surprisingly short period of time. Yaccarino’s vague explanation that the rebranding will be powered by artificial intelligence received criticism, with some comparing it to the story of the “Emperor’s New Clothes,” suggesting that the statements lacked substance.

Almost immediately, problems related to the rebranding started to arise. The San Francisco Police Department intervened and stopped contractors from removing the Twitter signage outside their headquarters due to the absence of permits or requests. This lack of planning posed a safety risk to people passing by. It remains unclear when the removal process will resume.

However, perhaps the most significant issue is the fact that Musk or X Corp. did not trademark the name “X,” despite Musk’s known interest in it. Ironically, it appears that Meta has a trademark for a product called “X,” as indicated in their patent filing for “online social networking services.” These obstacles put the value and positive reputation of the Twitter brand at risk.

Steve Susi, a brand communication expert from Siegel & Gale, explained to Bloomberg, “It took more than 15 years to build that level of global equity, so losing the Twitter brand name would be a significant financial blow.”

Editor’s letter: Can Tata’s gigafactory save the UK automotive industry?

Tata’s plan to construct a £4 billion gigafactory holds great potential for boosting electric car manufacturing in the UK, which is much needed.

Tata’s recent announcement of a new 40GWh battery factory expected to be operational by 2026 is a step towards finding a solution to the challenges faced by the industry. However, it is important to note that this is just the beginning, and more actions will be required.

Nevertheless, this development is significant as it brings a glimmer of hope to the otherwise gloomy outlook for car manufacturing in the UK during this era of electric vehicles.

Leaked Galaxy Watch 6 Indicates Potential Price Increase

A recent leak about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 not only provided some limited details about the watch itself but also hinted at a potential price hike compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 5. Currently, the Galaxy Watch 5 is priced at $279, excluding any trade-in credits (which can go up to $130).

The leaked images and information originated from a French outlet, so the prices mentioned are specific to France. On Samsung’s French website, the Galaxy Watch 5 is listed at €299 (approximately $326). In contrast, the new 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 with Bluetooth connectivity is expected to have a retail price of €319.99, a 20 Euro increase. Similarly, the 40mm 4G variant of the Galaxy Watch 6 is anticipated to be priced at €369.99. As for the 44mm models, the Bluetooth version is expected to cost €349.99, while the 4G version may come with a price tag of €399.99. The Classic options, on the other hand, may be priced at €419.99 and €469.99 for the 43mm models, and €449.99 and €499.99 for the largest model, depending on the connectivity type.

These leaked prices suggest that Samsung might introduce a new pricing structure for its latest range of Galaxy watches. It is essential to note, however, that these prices are not official and come from unofficial sources. The leaked information lacks substantial details, and there is a possibility that Samsung may change the prices when officially unveiling the new Galaxy Watch 6.
