Italian Motorcycle Racer Filippo Mometto Dead At 24

A talented young Italian motorcycle racer, Filippo Mometto, has tragically passed away at the age of 24. His lifeless body was discovered in his home in Trento, Italy on September 18, 2023. The cause of his death has not yet been determined.

Mometto showed great potential in the world of motorcycle racing. He competed in the National Trophy 1000 earlier this year, demonstrating impressive skill and performance. He also participated in the Trofeo Aprilia RS 660, where he achieved a third-place finish in the second race. In addition to his racing career, Filippo was a computer engineering student at the University of Trento.

Filippo Mometto was originally from Oderzoin, a commune in the province of Trevisio, Italy. The exact cause of his death remains unknown, and it is unclear whether an autopsy will be conducted. The racing community is deeply saddened by his loss.

Marco Bezzecchi, the winner of the first-ever Indian Grand Prix and a close friend of Mometto, dedicated his victory to his late friend, saying, “I want to dedicate this victory to a very dear friend who unfortunately passed away a few days ago. Filippo, this is for you.” Bezzecchi and Mometto shared a passion for motorcycling from a young age.
