However, with the introduction of the sixteenth generation in 2022, it has expanded to become a family of several vehicles. Currently, the Crown is sold as a high-riding sedan and a crossover, with a larger SUV and a regular sedan set to be released in Japan soon.

Hot on the heels of the recently launched Crown Sport crossover, Toyota is now preparing a special edition for the jacked-up saloon. This limited-run variant, which will only be available in Japan, is based on the RS Advanced trim and features an exclusive matte paint job along with unspecified “other special features”.

2024 Toyota Crown Sport (JDM)

This special edition Crown is expected to go on sale in Japan in December. Although the price has not been announced, it is likely to be more expensive than the 6,400,000 yen (approximately $43,000) RS Advanced trim. Customers will be able to purchase this special edition from dedicated Crown showrooms, with locations currently available in Tsuzuki, Yokohama, and Tenjin, Fukuoka. Additional showrooms in Aichi, Chiba, and Tokyo are planned to open soon.

It seems that the Crown is turning into a sub-brand to distinguish it from the regular lineup of Toyota vehicles. In addition to the four initial models, the even more luxurious Century sedan and the recently launched SUV are only available for order from select Century Meisters showrooms.

Crown dealerships will showcase all four models, and potential customers will have the opportunity to test drive them. Toyota is also creating upscale lounge areas and organizing networking events for owners, while the design of the building reflects the Crown brand’s identity. Following the release of this first special edition, more limited-run variants with additional features will be introduced for other Crown models.

This Website Allows You to Track Starlink Satellites and See Their Current Locations

In the past, the Starlink map was available to the public, but it was primarily used to check for coverage in specific areas. However, with the introduction of Find Starlink, users can now see the Starlink satellites in real time. In some cases, these satellites can even be seen from the ground without using a telescope. When they are grouped together, they often resemble a line of lights crossing the sky, rather than a single light.

Find Starlink also provides a helpful tool that allows users to input their location or coordinates. This tool shows the visibility of the satellites, the best time to view them, and their brightness values. However, just because a satellite appears to be directly overhead does not guarantee that you will be able to see it. The satellites are constantly moving at a speed of 300 miles per minute, making it easy to miss a cluster of satellites. So, if you find yourself in a situation where you timed it perfectly but still couldn’t see it, don’t be surprised or disappointed.

It’s important to note that the Find Starlink tool is not officially affiliated with SpaceX or Starlink. Instead, it uses coordinates to track the paths of these satellite megaconstellations as they orbit the Earth.

Nissan X-Trail

The front of the Nissan X-Trail bears a strong resemblance to the Nissan Qashqai, with only a few minor differences in color and trim. The dashboard is the same as the smaller Nissan SUV, and while some may have expected more for the higher price, there is little to complain about.

Although other cars may have a more avant-garde style, the X-Trail still looks modern. It features soft-touch materials and has been designed with practical usability in mind. The climate control panel uses physical buttons instead of glossy black plastic that easily shows fingerprints.

The biggest change in the X-Trail compared to the Qashqai is the center console. It has a floating design with space beneath it. On top, it offers generous cupholders, a wireless phone charger, a 12V socket, a USB-A port, and a USB-C port. The rear seats also have a USB-A and USB-C port.

However, it’s important to study the brochure because lower trims are slightly stripped down. For example, the Visia trim has fewer USB ports and doesn’t come with an infotainment screen. The digital gauge cluster is only available on N-Connecta and higher trims. Lower grades have analogue gauges with a smaller 7.0-inch screen. The 12.3-inch digital cluster in our test car is not highly customizable but effectively utilizes space and provides clear information.

The X-Trail offers a great experience in the front seats. However, as an SUV with the option for a third row (which comes with an additional price increase), it is primarily a vehicle purchased for its spaciousness. In this aspect, it may be slightly disappointing compared to similar models, depending on what you compare it with.

When compared to rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or Kia Sportage, the X-Trail provides generous rear-seat space, with 100mm more legroom than the Toyota. However, among other seven-seat SUVs, it doesn’t fare as well. Although there is more legroom than in a Kia Sorento when the second row is slid all the way back, there is still not enough legroom for the third row. To make the third-row seats in the X-Trail usable, even for small children, the second row needs to be slid forwards considerably.

Adding to the challenge is the hybrid battery located under the passenger compartment, which raises the floor and compromises the seating position. The X-Trail also doesn’t have the most spacious boot. With the third row folded away, it offers 485 liters of space. This increases to 575 liters in the five-seat hybrid and 585 liters in the five-seat mild hybrid. In comparison, the RAV4 has 580 liters, the Sportage hybrid has 587 liters, and a seven-seat Kodiaq has 765 liters.

Multimedia system

When we tested the Qashqai, we found the infotainment system to be unremarkable but outdated. This is still the case with the cheaper versions of the X-Trail, as the system is carried over. However, N-Connecta versions and above of both the 2023 Qashqai and X-Trail come with a new 12.3-inch system that greatly improves the experience.

The graphics are sharp, and the screen boots up and responds quickly. There’s a permanent bar of shortcuts on the right side of the screen, as well as a physical volume knob and buttons for tuning and switching between day and night modes.

The software is user-friendly, allowing customization of the home screen. The navigation system is decent, and it supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Our test car was equipped with the upgraded Bose stereo, which provided good sound quality, although some occasional crackling was noticed from the speakers.

One peculiar aspect is that the vehicle settings need to be adjusted through the gauge cluster using the steering wheel buttons, rather than through the touchscreen.

Lamborghini Race Car Teased For The Last Time Ahead Of Goodwood Debut

The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed is set to feature numerous vehicle debuts, most of which involve production vehicles. However, Lamborghini will be unveiling a new race car that will not be available for purchase. This car is specifically designed to compete in the Hypercar and GTP classes of the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA. Although it won’t have the flamboyant design and scissor doors commonly associated with Lamborghini, the latest teaser reveals that it will feature large wings and numerous vents.

The powertrain details of the car have not been released yet, but it will feature a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with hybrid assistance, according to previous reports. This will be Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s first race-specific engine, with a maximum output limited to 671 horsepower due to regulations. However, considering the high power outputs commonly seen in production supercars, reaching this goal should not be a problem for this dedicated race car.

Due to category rules, the car’s exterior design will be constrained, and it will have to use a specific chassis supplier. However, the teaser hints at some customization options, as shades of green are visible. The tail fin also bears the name “Iron Lynx,” which is a racing team already involved in IMSA and the GT World Challenge Europe with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2.

It is still unclear whether the car will only be displayed statically or have the opportunity to run up the famous Goodwood hill. However, Lamborghini will have other vehicles on display at the event, including several models from the Lamborghini lineup and the Eccentrica Lamborghini Diablo restomod, which features updated bodywork and a modernized interior based on the classic 1990s supercar.
