First Look At Maruti Invicto’s Cabin Shows Clear Look At The Changes Over Hycross

The Innova Hycross-based MPV will be Maruti’s flagship model when it launched on July 5

Maruti Invicto Cabin

  • The spy shot shows the presence of a sunroof.

  • Gets the same cabin as the Innova Hycross but with a black colour scheme.

  • Likely to be offered only with a strong hybrid powertrain.

  • Expected to be priced over Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti has been teasing their upcoming MPV, the Maruti Invicto, for a while and the strong hybrid MPV has also been spotted undisguised before. Now, for the first time, images of its cabin have emerged online and we can have a clear look at what the Innova Hycross-based Invicto has to offer.

What We See

Since the Invicto is based on the Innova Hycross, their cabin design and layout are nearly identical. Just like the Hycross, the Invicto gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the same design for the center console and dashboard. Even the design and positioning of the AC vents are the same and even the steering wheel save for the Suzuki logo.

Maruti Invicto Center Console

But in the Invicto, changes can be seen in the colour scheme. While the Hycross gets a black and brown dual-tone cabin with silver elements on the doors, AC vents and center console, the Invicto, on the other hand, gets an all-black cabin with champagne colour elements replacing the silver ones.

Maruti Invicto Sunroof

Also, in this spied unit, a sunroof is clearly visible from the inside.

Powertrain

Toyota Innova Hycross strong-hybrid powertrain

As per some reports and dealer sources, the Invicto will likely be offered only in a strong hybrid version with a 186PS, 2-litre petrol engine mated to an eCVT gearbox. The 2-litre non-hybrid petrol engine (174PS and 205Nm) with a CVT gearbox could be skipped.

Features and Safety

Maruti Invicto Front

From this sighting and a previous teaser, it is confirmed that the Invicto will get a powered driver seat with memory function and ventilated front seats. It will also get features like a digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, dual zone climate control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a suite of ADAS features like lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.

Price and Rivals

Maruti Invicto Rear

Maruti will launch the Invicto on July 5 and we expect it to be priced over Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a rival to the Toyota Innova Hycross and will also act as a premium alternative to the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.

2024 Ford Explorer Revealed in New Spy Photos Without Camouflage

A refreshed version of the Ford Explorer is on its way, and recent spy photos give us a glimpse of the new model without any camouflage. This unofficial debut of the 2024 Explorer is a big reveal ahead of its official introduction.

So, what can we see in the photos? The new front design shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Ford introduced a new Explorer for the Chinese market last year with a similar grille. However, the grille on the 2024 Explorer is now larger and rectangular in shape. The headlights are slightly slimmer and positioned at the top. Interestingly, the lower part of the front fascia on this particular Explorer is different from its Chinese counterpart. It is believed to be specific to a certain trim level, possibly the ST-Line version, according to insider sources.

Elon Musk Confirms Tesla India Debut After Meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The Model 3 and Model Y could be Tesla’s debut cars in India

Elon Musk Narendra Modi

BIG NEWS! Tesla India launch has just been confirmed by the brand’s boss, Elon Musk. The Twitter CEO met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to the US, where they talked about several issues ranging from energy to spirituality.

In a public interview, Elon Musk said, “It was a fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister and I like him quite a lot. He visited our factory a few years ago. So, we have known each other for a while.”

“I am incredibly excited about the future of India. I think India has more promise than any large country in the world,” he added.

When is Tesla coming, then?

Tesla Model Y

Musk also said that Tesla will be in India as soon as humanly possible. The Prime Minister has invited the Tesla founder to explore significant investment opportunities in India. This further strengthens the reports that Tesla is planning to set up a factory in India and sell locally produced EVs. This will ensure lower prices of the still premium EVs.

Tesla talks so far

Tesla Model 3

The Tesla-India talks have seen several ups and downs over the years. The electric carmaker even registered its office in Bengaluru and we spotted several test mules of the Model 3 too. However, high import taxes were the main hurdle which made Tesla sceptical about its India move. The American carmaker’s request for lower tariffs on pure EVs was shot down and the company was uncertain about making manufacturing investments without being able to test the market with its products first.

The carmaker currently has the Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S on sale globally. India might get the Model 3 sedan and Model Y crossover at first. The Cybertruck will be globally launched sometime in 2024, while the carmaker is also readying up a new entry-level EV.

The special diaphragm clutch has three positions of adjustment to suit the rider’s preferences.
  • An electronic key/safety system that provides a secure lock-out key exclusively for the motorcycle. The system also includes a steering lock and a wristband tether that, when disconnected, will kill the engine for added safety.

10 Things The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Does Better Than The Ford Ranger

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has undergone significant changes, making it a formidable competitor to the Ford Ranger. Toyota has given the Tacoma a complete redesign, refreshing its appearance and adding modern features that were previously lacking. With these improvements, the Tacoma is poised to maintain its position as the most popular mid-size pickup. Here are 10 reasons why the 2024 Toyota Tacoma outshines the Ford Ranger.

This list was compiled using data from Car and Driver, HotCars, and CarEdge. We have identified 10 areas where the 2024 Toyota Tacoma surpasses the 2024 Ford Ranger.

10 The Tacoma Remains King Of Off-road Tech With Its Suspension Options

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has a long-standing reputation for being the best mid-size pickup truck for off-road performance. The Tacoma continues to deliver in this area with its impressive suspension options.

Tacoma Options

1. Rear Leaf Springs

2. Bilstein Monotubes with Remote Reservoirs

3. Fox Adjustable Internal-Bypass Shocks

4. ARB’s Old Man Emu Monotube Shocks

Ranger Options

1. Rear Leaf Springs

2. Adaptive Fox Live Valve Dampers

3. Watts-Style Trailing Arms

While Ford offers some options like the Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve Internal Bypass on the Ranger Raptor, the Tacoma’s suspension options surpass the Ranger’s. The 2024 Tacoma offers Bilstein remote reservoir shocks on the TRD Off-Road, Fox three-way adjustable internal bypass shocks on the TRD Pro, and Old Man Emu 4×4 Suspension on the new Trailhunter trim. Additionally, Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select outperforms Ford’s off-road capability.

9 The Departure And Approach Angles On The Tacoma Are Absurdly Good

8 The Tacoma Doesn’t Sacrifice Its Towing Capacity For Performance

While the base models of the Ranger have a higher towing capacity than the Tacoma, this is because Ford’s trim choices are not as optimized for consumers.

Although the Tacoma’s towing capacity starts 1,000 pounds lower than the Ranger, this is consistent across the board, with the exception of the hybrid option, which still exceeds the Ranger Raptor by a few hundred pounds. The Ranger offers higher towing capacity in certain trims, but if you want the best off-roading experience, you may have to sacrifice some towing capability. The Tacoma strikes a balance by providing a comfortable middle ground across all its trim levels.

PLANO, Texas (June 21, 2023) – The Toyota Supra has been a legendary sports car for over four decades. From its first-generation roots as the Celica Supra in 1979 to today’s fifth-generation GR Supra, this model has captured the hearts of enthusiasts with its power, handling, technology, and style. To commemorate this history, Toyota is introducing a stunning 45th Anniversary Edition for the 2024 model year.

The GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition takes inspiration from the iconic 1990’s models and will be available in two striking colors: Mikan Blast (a deep orange) or Absolute Zero (a stunning white). Built on the 3.0 Premium Grade, this special edition GR Supra features a low-slung, aggressive design highlighted by a large, manually adjustable rear spoiler. The spoiler can be adjusted to change its angle and affect the downforce on the rear wheels.

The 45th Anniversary Edition also features matte-black finished 19-inch aluminum wheels, black GR brake calipers, and a black Supra side graphic that adds to its distinctive look. The special edition pays homage to the iconic MkIV Supra and brings a touch of nostalgia and flair to the 2024 Supra lineup. Only 900 units of the 45th Anniversary Edition will be available, with Mikan Blast and Absolute Zero colors evenly split. The engine will be powered by the same 382-hp B58 inline six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine found in all 3.0 Supra models, giving it exceptional performance.

The GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition continues the tradition of offering unique versions of the Supra since its relaunch in 2019. Over the years, Toyota has introduced special editions like the Launch, A91, A91 Carbon Fiber, and A91MT. The GR Supra has also undergone continuous improvements, with upgrades to its power, handling, and the addition of new models like the 2.0-L 4-cylinder and the Manual Transmission option. In 2020, Toyota GAZOO Racing started producing a GR Supra GT4 model for racing.

Customers can expect the GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition to arrive at Toyota dealerships in the fall of 2023. Pricing details for the special edition model and the complete 2024 GR Supra lineup will be announced at a later date.

Blast From the Past

The Toyota Supra first went on sale in 1979 as the Toyota Celica Supra in the U.S. The first-generation model, also known as the Mark I (MkI) Supra, featured a luxury, rear-wheel drive sports car design. It underwent several changes during its short production run and eventually became known as the A50 Celica Supra. It featured a 2.6-liter inline-six engine and was available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

In 1982, the second-generation A60 Celica (MkII) Supra was introduced. This model featured a 2.8-liter 5M-GE twin-cam straight-six engine and had a completely redesigned aerodynamic body. It included features like retractable headlights, an independent rear suspension, and a more aggressive overall look.

In 1986, Toyota introduced the third-generation A70 Supra (MkIII), dropping the Celica name and positioning it as a high-performance sports car. The A70 Supra featured a sleek, aerodynamic body with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produced up to 230-hp with the twin-turbocharged variant. It also introduced advanced features like anti-lock braking system (ABS) and an electronically moderated suspension.

The fourth-generation A80 Supra (MkIV) arrived in 1993. It featured a timeless design, two choices of inline-six engines (naturally aspirated or twin-turbocharged), and advanced features like electronically controlled suspension and driver/passenger-side airbags.

After an absence of nearly two decades, the Toyota Supra made its triumphant return in 2019 as the A90 GR Supra (MkV). It featured a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with up to 335-hp and 365 lb.-ft. of torque, delivering exhilarating performance. The GR Supra was the first model globally badged under TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s (GR) brand and marked Toyota’s commitment to driver-centered sports cars. Since then, Toyota has continued to enhance the GR Supra, introducing more powerful models, adding a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder variant, and offering a Manual Transmission option.

In addition to the road-going GR Supra models, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing also developed the GR Supra GT4 EVO for racing. The GT4 model allows professional and amateur drivers to compete in GT4 racing categories worldwide and has achieved success in various races and championships.

With the introduction of the 2024 GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition, Toyota celebrates the Supra’s legacy while delivering a thrilling sports car experience to enthusiasts.

PLANO, Texas (June 21, 2023) – Toyota is introducing exciting updates to the GR86 for the 2024 model year. The first is the limited GR86 TRUENO Edition, featuring a two-tone design in Halo and black or Track bRed and black. The TRUENO Edition also comes with an upgraded Performance Package, including SACHS Dampers and Brembo Brakes, which is now available as standard on the TRUENO Edition and as an upgrade for other GR86 models.

The GR86 TRUENO Edition, based on the Premium grade, will be produced in both manual and automatic transmission models, with only 860 units available in the US market. It will feature a two-tone look with a black wrapped hood, black TRUENO Edition side panel graphic, and black painted duckbill spoiler. The TRUENO Edition badge on the front bumper lip and rear decklid pays tribute to the 1980s model that inspired its design. Other distinctive touches include black metallic finished 18-inch, 10-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, black door handles, and mirror caps.

Inside the special edition, the GR86 TRUENO Edition will have Ultrasuede® sport seats with attention-grabbing red leather trim, a red-stitched shift boot, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Additional unique features include a TRUENO Edition logoed shift knob and all-weather floor/trunk mats. The car will also come with an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility and an eight-speaker audio system as standard.

In addition to the special edition, the 2024 GR86 lineup will also feature a Performance Package. This package includes ZF SACHS Dampers and Brembo Brakes and is now standard on the TRUENO Edition. The Performance Package can also be added to new 2024 GR86 models and retrofitted to 2022 and 2023 models with 18-inch wheels. The package is specially tuned by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for optimal handling, ride comfort, and brake system consistency.

Furthermore, manual transmission equipped models of the GR86 will now come standard with an Active Safety Suite. This suite includes features such as Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Sway Warning, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, and High Beam Assist. This addition complements Toyota’s existing Star Safety System™, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), and more.

The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition will be available in limited quantities in Winter. Pricing for the GR86 TRUENO Edition and the complete GR86 2024 lineup will be announced later this year.
