The Honda Elevate is all set to enter the battle of compact SUVs, and its bookings are already underway for Rs 5,000. The automaker will announce the prices on September 4. Ahead of that, the units have already arrived at Honda dealerships.

Though the Elevate will be available in four broad trims, in this story, we have detailed the one-above-base V trim of the Elevate in six pictures.

Honda Elevate

Let’s begin with the fascia. This mid-spec V variant features LED headlights connected by a chrome bar. While it does have the same imposing grille as the top-end variant, it doesn’t get fog lamps. That said, there are no other alterations to the front of the SUV.

In profile, this particular variant of the Elevate doesn’t feature alloy wheels, instead sitting on 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers. Another noticeable omission are the roof rails. Nonetheless, it still gets ORVM-mounted turn indicators and body-colored door handles. In contrast, the top-spec Elevate variant boasts chrome door handles and dual-tone colourways.

Honda Elevate

From the rear, the V variant of the Elevate comes with LED tail lamps and a shark fin antenna, but no rear wiper.

Honda Elevate

In contrast to the brown interior of the top-spec Elevate, the V variant of the Honda SUV features a black and beige theme. It is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen system, which is smaller than the unit offered within the higher-specced variants. According to Hyundai, more than 75 percent of the buyers have opted for a sunroof. The sunroof is available in the top three variants, with prices starting from Rs 8 lakh. The Exter is one of the most affordable cars with a sunroof. The Exter is available in the following variants: EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. 

The sunroof feature is also offered on the Exter’s CNG variants, which are priced at Rs 8.97 lakh. This allows CNG buyers to enjoy a feature-rich experience.

Buyers Flocking Towards AMT Too

Hyundai Exter AMT

More than one-third of the bookings were for the AMT variants. Hyundai offers the convenience of an automatic transmission from the S variant onwards. With a starting price of Rs 7.97 lakh (ex-showroom), customers can get an AMT-equipped variant for around Rs 10 lakh (on-road). 

The Exter is equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 83PS and 114Nm of torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT option with paddle shifters. The manual variants have a fuel efficiency of 19.2kmpl, while the AMT variant offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4kmpl. 

The CNG variant of the Exter produces 69PS and 95.2Nm of torque, with a claimed mileage of 27.1km/kg.
