The two partners will also collaborate on social responsibility and non-profit projects off the court.

Toyota Faces Production Stoppage in Japan Due to Insufficient Disk Space

When an automaker halts production at a plant, it is usually due to supply shortages or accidents. However, Toyota recently had to stop production at all of its 14 factories in Japan for a different reason.

On August 29, production was suspended at several domestic plants, affecting 28 lines in total. The cause of this halt was a maintenance work mishap that occurred the day before. During regular maintenance, Toyota was deleting and organizing data in the database. Unfortunately, the system encountered an error due to insufficient disk space, leading to the production stoppage.

BMW and AirConsole team up to showcase in-car gaming at Gamescom, with a new game planned for 2024

Munich. BMW and AirConsole are joining forces at Gamescom in Cologne from August 23-27 to demonstrate the AirConsole in-car gaming platform in the BMW i5. AirConsole allows players to enjoy casual games in their new BMW i5, providing entertainment while waiting for the car to charge. Casual games are easy to play and have intuitive controls. The game selection for the launch of the new BMW 5 Series includes racing, sports, simulation, strategy, jump-and-run, and puzzle games. There will be a continuous addition of new games to the portfolio.

BMW and AirConsole are also introducing ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ from Sony Pictures Television to the AirConsole game collection at Gamescom. This all-new version of the popular quiz show is being specifically designed for in-car gaming, combining the simplicity of AirConsole’s smartphone game controller with elements from the original game show. ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ will be available in BMW and MINI vehicles with the AirConsole App by 2024.

The color scheme takes inspiration from the games available on the AirConsole platform. The wrap also features elements of video game controllers, highlighting the unique in-car gaming solution with AirConsole, where the smartphone serves as the controller.

AEO POWERSPORTS CR500 PROJECT: 2-STROKE TUESDAY

AEO Powersports has restored a 1992 Honda CR500 and it is the focus of this week’s Two-Stroke Tuesday. The restoration project involved using products from top companies like Works Connection, Hinson, Dunlop, ODI, Motion Pro, Dubya USA, and FMF. The finished CR500 is truly captivating and surpasses what can be captured in pictures alone.

Works Connection’s aluminum skid plates, which have a classic motocross design, are still available for the CR500. Works Connection’s long-standing products continue to be produced even after many years.

The CR500 power plant, complete with Nickel Wurks fastener kits from Specbolt, is a true masterpiece.

Dubya USA offers a variety of wheel combinations that can fit any dirt bike, and they can also refurbish OEM sets to make them better than new. The AEO CR500 wheel set features black HAAN hubs with stainless steel spokes and gold DID Dirtstar STX-X rims built at Dubya USA’s headquarters in Southern California.

The ODI CFT Handlebars are mounted on new top clamp systems, and Motion Pro offers a selection of replacement throttle assemblies for various machines. The Vortex SE replaces OEM throttles on many Japanese 2-strokes and can be used with ODI grips with cam “C” or the new style lock-on ODI grips.

The REP/AEO suspension team installed a modern WP Cone Valve Fork on the front of the CR500 and reworked the rear shock to match. The installation of the WP components is so clean that it looks factory-made.

FMF has been making pipes for the Honda CR500 since the 90s. The Gold Series Fatty and Power Core 2 silencer combination is just as classic as the CR500 itself.

The Sunstar Works Triplestar aluminum sprocket, made of 7075 T6 construction with hard anodized coating, offers extra strength. The DID ERT3 gold chain is designed to be lightweight and withstand abuse.

The aluminum tank on the 90s era machine is a standout feature. XFUN in Europe handmakes the tank to original OEM Honda specifications. For US customers, aluminum tanks for various two-stroke machines can be purchased through www.motomandistributing.com.

Overall, the CR500 restoration by AEO Powersports is a true work of art.

The Rise in Popularity of Old Record Players

There are a few main factors driving the resurgence of record players: sound quality, cyclical trends, and nostalgia. A study published by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) revealed that most record player purchasers were born between 1997 and 2012, making Gen Z the primary audience for the vinyl revival. According to Northwestern University’s Nu Science Magazine, younger generations are drawn to “vintage” trends as a way to experience a sense of nostalgia that they may feel disconnected from. This makes sense in the context of record players, as vinyl had largely disappeared by the time millennials and Gen Z came of age.

The rediscovery and reapplication of older technologies in a modern context is not a new phenomenon. Fashion curator Michelle Finamore discusses how recycled trends have been a common practice since the 17th century. This romanticizing of past eras can be seen in various industries, including entertainment and automobiles. It seems natural for us to view and incorporate certain elements from unfamiliar time periods. The resurgence of vinyl records and record players serves as evidence of this phenomenon.

Should You Still Consider Purchasing the Nintendo Switch in 2023?

Despite some factors that may give you pause, there are still reasons why buying a Nintendo Switch in 2023 could be a good choice. One of the main concerns is that the Switch has been available for some time now, and it’s possible that Nintendo has a new or updated version of the console in the works, or even a completely new generation console.

Nintendo has confirmed that they won’t release any new Switch console in this fiscal year, which means not until at least March 2024. Unless Nintendo surprises us with a sudden release, we shouldn’t expect a new console anytime soon. Therefore, it is still safe to buy a Switch this year.

However, there’s another reason to think twice about buying a new Switch, even after a new Nintendo Switch 2 is announced. When the Switch was released in 2017, its portability and handheld mode were revolutionary. But in 2023, we have alternatives like the Steam Deck, other portable PC competitors, and even PlayStation is entering the handheld console market. These options offer portable access to the latest AAA games and, in the case of the Steam Deck, access to a wide range of emulators to play classic games.

Ultimately, the decision to buy a Nintendo Switch in 2023 depends on whether you are primarily interested in playing Nintendo games. If titles like “Zelda” and “Elephant Mario” are high on your priority list, then the Switch is undoubtedly a console worth considering.

Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch vs Maruti Ignis: Size, Powertrain And Fuel Efficiency Comparison

Let’s see how the Hyundai Exter sizes up against its main rivals

Hyundai Exter is the smallest SUV from the Korean marque in India and arrives as the latest addition to the micro-SUV segment. It competes directly with the Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis, even though the latter is not as SUV-like as the others. So let’s find out how the Exter fares against them in terms of size and powertrains.

The Ignis, on the other hand, is smaller than the Exter and Punch in all aspects, making it the smaller offering. It may seem like it has a tiny boot in comparison, but it is worth noting that the Exter and Punch are stating their capacities till the roof, not just the parcel shelf.

All three models offer a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with the choice of either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Out of all three, Punch’s engine produces the highest power and torque, giving it a slight edge over the others. However, the Exter is currently the only model in this segment to offer a CNG powertrain.

BMW Announces New Long-Term Partnership with the Städel Museum

The BMW Group has announced a new long-term partnership with the Städel Museum, one of Germany’s oldest and most renowned museum foundations. To kick off the collaboration, artist Marc Brandenburg has designed an exclusive BMW iX1. Together, BMW and the Städel Museum invite visitors to experience contemporary art in a unique way through the STÄDEL INVITES event series.

In the past year, BMW and the Städel Museum Frankfurt launched the STÄDEL INVITES format. These events, held in conjunction with exhibitions by selected contemporary artists, aim to make contemporary art more accessible to a wide audience in a relaxed atmosphere. The events include live artist discussions, talks, short tours, and music.

As a highlight of the new partnership, Marc Brandenburg, the museum’s collection artist, has designed a BMW iX1. The vehicle will be unveiled on July 11th in the Städel Garden. Brandenburg will explain how he incorporated the elements of time, space, and speed from his artwork into the car design. The Städel Museum will also exhibit Brandenburg’s drawings and video work from October 28, 2021, to January 30, 2022, in the exhibition “Hirnsturm II.”

“We are excited to expand our cultural engagement through a new partnership with the Städel Museum,” said Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG. The design of the BMW iX1 by Marc Brandenburg signifies the beginning of a long-term collaboration that will offer many inspiring encounters with artists through the STÄDEL INVITES format.

Philipp Demandt, director of the Städel Museum, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and the BMW iX1 designed by Marc Brandenburg. He highlighted the shared aspiration of the Städel Museum and BMW to inspire quality and people. Together, they aim to venture off the beaten path and explore new possibilities, including joint event series and a film series featuring contemporary artists presenting their works in relation to the Städel collection.

The STÄDEL INVITES series started in October 2022 with artist Michael Müller and will continue with exhibits by Philipp Fürhofer and Miron Schmückle. The series offers an opportunity for visitors to gain insights into the artists’ works and practices, as well as their connections to the Städel collection. The respective artists will also share their ideas and creative processes in the video series “Was bewegt (…)?”
