This 2024 Ford Mustang GT Only Survived 16 Miles Before Being Crashed

Pour one out for another brand-new performance car that never had a chance to live. This 2024 Ford Mustang GT is so new that some online VIN-check systems don’t show any vehicle history at all. By that, we mean no ownership history or accident history. The photos from this IAA auction, however, clearly show some major collision damage.

If you look at this black Mustang from a three-quarter view at the passenger side front, all seems fine. We don’t see any wrinkles in the roof, and panel gaps appear normal around the doors. It’s only when your gaze reaches the very back that something seems off. Where’s the thin lip spoiler that’s standard on the GT? And what’s with all the empty space behind the rear wheel?

2024 Ford Mustang GT Crash 16 Miles

Moving to the backside, the answers become apparent. The rear fascia, trunk lid, and taillights are gone, revealing extensive damage to the chassis. It appears the primary point of impact was on the driver-side rear, just off the centerline. We have no idea what actually happened here; the auction listing doesn’t state a cause. There’s a distinct U-shape to the damage not unlike hitting a tree, but an offset rear-end collision is certainly a possibility.

The damage is certainly extensive, but it doesn’t look extremely bad on the outside. The rear glass is intact, and panel gaps on the driver’s side look normal as well. However, peeking inside the car shows the rear seats shoved forward, suggesting there’s a lot of hidden damage underneath this Ford. The auction estimates the repair cost at nearly $30,000, with the value of the car being approximately $45,000.

Interior photos also show this car being a lower-spec GT, rocking the individual displays for the driver and center touchscreen. And yes, the mileage on that driver screen shows just 16.4 miles on the clock. It’s unclear if the car even had an owner yet, though that could be a temporary registration tag taped to the windshield. We can’t see if there’s a plate or tag on the back of the car, for obvious reasons.

This 2024 Mustang is currently resting in North Carolina. A specific auction date isn’t listed at this time. If you’re in the market for a new 5.0 swap for your project car, keep an eye out for bidding to start.

10 Most Underrated Motorcycles Of The Decade

The 2020s is a roller coaster ride that has changed the way we live, experience things, and see the world. And this evolution has trickled down to the motorcycling industry as well, with more and more brands experimenting with their products and pushing the boundaries of what’s expected of them. Some motorcycles have hit the mark, and many have completely missed it, but there are a few select motorcycles that have hit the mark but no one saw them.

If a tree fell in a forest, but you weren’t there to see it, did it make a sound? If we’re talking about motorcycles, damn right — the tree did make a sound. That’s the principle these underrated motorcycles of the decade are working on. They are some of the most capable, exciting, and amazing motorcycles we’ve ever seen, but they are unfortunate enough to go under the radar. But let’s ensure that’s not the case as these motorcycles deserve to be loved, ridden, and remembered by the community. If our gut is true, many of these motorcycles are going to be future classics, too!

Update November 2023: While manufacturers continue to update their lineups, we want to keep our readers up-to-speed with all the latest developments by periodically updating this article, whether it be technical specifications or prices.

Looking at the data from manufacturers, Motorcycle.com, and MCN, we have put together this list of the ten most underrated motorcycles of the current decade.

10 GSX-8S

Introduced in 2023

2023 Suzuki GSX-8S riding shot
Suzuki

Suzuki motorcycles often get a bad rap for being squid missiles, but switch out your flip-flops, tank tops, and baseball hats for proper riding gear, and you’ll start to appreciate Suzuki motorcycles for what they are. The GSX-8S is an excellent example — a practical, high-performing, and borderline over-engineered naked bike. This bike is developed out of the brand’s version of future sports bikes, as is evident by its futuristic design, but the robust parallel-twin engine is an old template perfected by Suzuki to be an effective implement for the platform. The GSX-8S aims to replace the long-celebrated SV650, and just like the latter, we fail to give enough credit to Suzuki for creating one of the best naked bikes in the segment.

Performance Specs

Pros

  • It’s a brand-new Suzuki engine that’s welcomed by the community
  • The engine and chassis complement each other well
  • It’s a practical, easy-to-ride motorcycle

Cons

  • The design may not be everyone’s favorite
  • It’s not as powerful or exciting as its rivals
  • Many riders would wish for a four-pot screamer in this segment

9 Aprilia Tuareg 660

Introduced in 2022

2024 Aprilia Tuareg 660 Dakar Podium Hero
Aprilia

2022 was a crazy year for Aprilia as it launched many new models and variants, including the Tuareg 660 — an ADV iteration of the massively successful 660 lineup. This middleweight ADV fills the void in the brand’s lineup of stunning road-going bikes by being a capable tourer and an off-roader. Also, the 660cc twin-cylinder engine feels so at home in this ADV avatar than in the RS 660, as if it was made for this bike only. Too bad, the Tuareg 660 is often ignored; it may not be as capable as a Tenere 700, but it brings a flair you won’t find in any other middleweight adventure bike.

Performance Specs

Engine

659 cc Liquid-cooled Parallel-twin

Power

80 horsepower

Torque

52 pound-feet

Weight

449 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$12,699

Pros

  • The parallel-twin engine is tractable and suited for off-road use
  • Like other Aprilias, it’s an excellent road bike
  • The chassis is predictable without sacrificing agility or sharpness

Cons

  • We wish it came with lean-sensitive ABS and traction control
  • The gearing feels too tall for proper off-road use
  • The Aprilia Quick Shift is a costly option

8 Triumph Tiger Sport 660

Introduced in 2022

Red Triumph Tiger Sport 660 leaning into a turn
Triumph Motorcycles

One of the most underrated motorcycles of the decade is the Triumph Tigert Sport 660, but we can’t blame anyone but Triumph for this. See, the 660 Triple platform is exhilarating, but the Trident doesn’t feel engaging enough; it is too soft and dull for many bikers. But in an adventure tourer setup like the Tiger Sport 660, the inline-triple engine feels at home. The Tiger Sport 660 is a capable, exhilarating touring bike that makes the Kawasaki Versys 600 feel like an elephant.

Another reason why the Tiger Sport 660 was dismissed by many was the (mis)naming of the bike. This is by no means a Triumph Tiger; this bike feels like a street bike with a semi-fairing and a windscreen — perfect for casual tourers and nothing else. The Tiger name should’ve been reserved for the more serious adventure touring motorcycles in the lineup. Nonetheless, the Tiger Sport 660, barring its name, is an excellent touring bike that many bikers will enjoy — it’s still Triumph in the sense of being versatile, polished, and exciting.

Performance Specs

Engine

660 cc Liquid-cooled Inline-three DOHC

Power

80 horsepower

Torque

47 pound-feet

Weight

454 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$9,695

Pros

  • The 660 Triple engine offers a broad, linear powerband
  • The riding position is comfortable, and the cockpit is not confusing or cluttered
  • It’s a versatile, practical touring bike

Cons

  • The front end tends to dive under hard braking
  • Despite being a touring motorcycle, it lacks features like cruise control and heated grips
  • Slight vibes creep in at 5,500 rpm, which is where you’ll spend most of your time in

7 Ducati Multistrada V2S

Introduced in 2022

Ducati Multistrada V2S
Ducati official

The Ducati Multistrada V4 defines the premium ADV segment, but it overshadows the Multistrada V2S. After all, why not — the V4 Granturismo engine will always win more hearts (and races) than the V2 Testeretta engine. But if you keep the spec sheet aside and compare the two bikes on the road, the Multistrada V2S is better than the V4 in many ways. It’s lighter, easier to ride, versatile, and can do everything the Multistrada V4 variant can, but a little slower. Yet, it’s enough to satiate your adventure and touring appetite without burning a big hole in your wallet. You won’t regret this purchase unless you only want the bragging right of having a V4 adventure bike.

Performance Specs

Engine

937 cc Liquid-cooled Desmodormic L-twin

Power

113 horsepower

Torque

71 pound-feet

Weight

445 pounds (dry)

Starting MSRP

$19,295

Pros

  • This “entry-level” Multistrada is almost as capable as the Multistrada V4 without the bells and whistles
  • It’s a light, nimble adventure tourer that you can take to the track
  • The design is still drool-worthy

Cons

  • The screen is too noisy for tall riders, which can be annoying on long hauls
  • It may feel outdated if you start nit-picking it
  • Despite being an ADV bike, it’s not even decently capable of off-roading

6 Harley-Davidson Sportster S

Introduced in 2021

Green 2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster S shown with accessories
Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson motorcycles are often associated with low-slung, slow-revving, laid-back cruisers, but the Sportsters S is not that. It’s more of a sport-naked bike wrapped in a cruiser aesthetic. Of course, the lack of the signature “potato” sound overshadowed these things; the new 1250 Revolution engine makes a much raspier sound — it still sounds terrific in our books, but it’s not a Harley sound. The looks are a hit or miss on most bikers, but it looks polished and modern, as you’d expect contemporary Harleys to look. While the brand missed its target audience and loyal customers with this bike, it’s still a fantastic bike that handles and sounds unlike a Harley, but who’s complaining?

Performance Specs

Engine

1,252 cc Liquid-cooled V-twin

Power

121 horsepower

Torque

94 pound-feet

Weight

502 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$16,399

Pros

  • The power delivery is exciting, thanks to the potent V-twin engine
  • The refinement levels are on par with its Japanese rivals
  • It’s got the visual appeal to win awards and hearts

Cons

  • The signature Harley-Davidson sound is missing
  • It’s too sporty for a cruiser, too heavy for a street bike
  • The suspension travel is too short for everyday use

10 Leading Motorcycles In The Mid-Size Segment

We live in a world of middleweight motorcycles now. Yes, there are bonkers superbikes, but they have gotten so ridiculously powerful that they are impractical for everyday use. On the other hand, the beginner segment is brewing with exciting bikes but they still lack the punch for fulfilling your motorcycling needs. This is where middleweight motorcycles come into play with their powerful yet usable engines, purpose-built ergonomics, and everything you need from your bike.

The mid-size segment is so vast now it’s almost impossible to make a decision without sleeping over it for a few months, discussing the spec sheets with your riding buddies for ten days straight, and visiting the dealership multiple times for test rides. And if you’re going through something similar, these ten motorcycles are what you should look at. These ten motorcycles are the best mid-size motorcycles you can buy today, whether you are looking for comfort, all-out performance, or practicality.

We’ve put together this list of ten incredible mid-size motorcycles by looking at manufacturer websites and Motorcyclenews.com.

Royal Enfield

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 may not be the fastest or the fanciest middleweight cruiser in the market — in fact, it sits at the bottom of the middleweight food chain — but that couldn’t stop us from appreciating this gorgeous motorcycle. It offers a unique flavor to the rider with its low-slung chassis and a smooth, tractable parallel twin engine. Plus, the 270-degree crank sounds awesome. It makes you appreciate the qualities that made cruisers what they are today: simple, comfortable machines with a lot of character.

Triumph Motorcycles

The Speed Twin 900 isn’t Triumph’s fanciest bike, and while it belongs to a heritage-rich family, it isn’t as punchy as the Bonnies of the past or the current-gen Speed Twin 1200, but it’s still a motorcycle that will win you over in no time. What makes this retro bike so special is that it is one of the most practical motorcycles on the market, with enough power to keep you entertained while being approachable for beginner bikers with a few thousand miles under their belts. And let’s not forget, it offers the quintessential retro flavors with subtle undertones of modernity.

8 Kawasaki Ninja 650

Photo by Jingming Pan on Unsplash

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 often gets a bad rep for being a mellow, characterless sports bike that’s not as exciting to ride as it may look. But there’s a strong case to be made for this bike in the middleweight segment; its mellow character makes this bike versatile and easy to ride for everyone. As long as your goal isn’t an all-out performance, you’d have to be a really skilled rider to find problems with this one. The fit and finish are good, it’s loaded with tech, it’s agile, and the parallel-twin engine is a breeze to ride in a variety of riding conditions. And if you wanted to extract the same benefits without the fairings, you could even choose the Z650 or the Z650 RS.

7 Suzuki GSX-R750

2023 Suzuki GSX-R750
Suzuki

Parallel twin engines are fun, but when you want a thoroughbred race bike in the middleweight segment, there’s hardly any supersport better than the GSX-R750. If you’re wondering if this is a “true” supersport, you’d be surprised to know that the GSX R750 was the first ever supersport when it was launched back in 1985. The GSX R750 is an excellent supersport motorcycle thanks to its excellent handling, reliability, and ownership experience, but its highlight feature is the 750cc inline-four engine that’s butter smooth and offers usable torque in the mid-range, unlike 600 supersports that produce all the power in the top end.

6 KTM 890 Duke R

2022 KTM 890 DUKE R coming out of a curve
KTM

Are there better middleweight nakeds in the market? Yes, but the 890 Duke R is a special one. Simply put, the KTM 890 Duke R is one of the best KTM motorcycles ever built; it’s a mature KTM that won’t try to run out from under you while being exciting enough to make you question your choices. Plus, it’s a relatively affordable bike to own and easy to maintain. Unlike the bigger Duke, the 890 Duke R can be ridden at a sedate pace with ease, but give it the juice, and it will show you why it is known as the Scalpel: it’s incredibly agile and eager in the right rev-range.

5 Triumph Street Triple 765 R

Another middleweight naked that deserves a place on this list is the Street Triple 765 R. This motorcycle is based on the legendary Daytona and uses the same frame that made the Daytona 675 the ultimate supersport of its time. But with the new sub-800cc engine, the bike gets to enjoy a much stronger midrange, allowing it to be a hoot to ride in the city. But take it to the track and the bike comes into its own; it’s more than capable enough to keep up with proper supersports even on the most technical racetracks. Plus, the induction noise with the inline-triple growl is addicting!

4 Yamaha Tenere 700

Ténéré 700 Extreme
Yamaha

Let’s switch things up a bit and take a look at the best middleweight adventure bike of 2023: the Yamaha Tenere 700. This motorcycle has taken the ADV segment by storm, eating away at every other ADV’s market share. The Tenere 700 uses the ultra-versatile CP2 engine that not only sounds grunty but produces a lot of low- to mid-range torque to help this bike get through any kind of terrain. Plus, the long-travel suspension and bigger tires allow it to soak up all the bumps and rocks that you ride over, and unlike other softly-sprung ADVs, this bike does not squat under acceleration. Honestly, this may be the only ADV you will ever need.

How to Create Custom Animated Live Stickers for iPhone Text Messages

The Camera app on iPhone 6 and newer models has a feature called Live Photo that can be turned on or off. When enabled, the camera automatically records 1.5 seconds of footage before and after you take a photo. Live Photos can be shared with fun effects in certain apps, such as Instagram Stories with a Boomerang effect, or modified in the iPhone’s Photos app to apply different Live Photos effects like Loop, Bounce, or Long Exposure. You can also choose a different photo from the Live Photo sequence as the main image for regular sharing.

To create your own animated Live Stickers for iPhone text messages, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Camera app.
  2. Select the Photo option.
  3. Tap on the circle icon for Live Photo located in the top-right corner of the screen, ensuring that there is no slash over it.

When Live Photo is turned on, you will briefly see the word “Live” in yellow on top of the camera viewfinder. By default, Live Photo is already enabled, so if you haven’t changed it before, you can proceed to take the photo.

To confirm if the photo you just took is a Live Photo, open the Photos app and go to the Albums tab. Select Live Photos under Media Types, and you should find the photo you snapped. From there, you can convert it into a Live Sticker using various methods.

See 11 Winter Tires Show How They Handle Chilly Weather And Snow

If you live in the upper portions of the Northern Hemisphere, snow could start falling in a matter of weeks or maybe a few months. This means it’s the perfect time to start considering a set of winter tires for your vehicle. Jonathan Benson from Tyre Reviews is here to evaluate the best cold-weather rubber for the 2023-2024 season.

Benson selects 11 winter tires. Plus, he chooses an all-season and summer design to show how much of a difference there is from using cold-weather-specific rubber. All of them are size 225/45 R18, and he uses a BMW 3 Series as the evaluation vehicle.

He evaluates the:

  • Michelin Pilot Alpin 5
  • Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 3
  • Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2
  • Hankook Winter i*Cept Evo 3
  • Vredestein Wintrac Pro
  • Bridgestone Blizzak LM005
  • Kumho Winter Craft WP52
  • Continental WinterContact TS 870 P
  • Giti GitiWinterW2
  • Leao Winter Defender UHP
  • Falken Eurowinter HS02 Pro

The all-season tire is the Hankook Kineregy 4S2, and the summer tire is the Hankook Ventus Prime 4.

Benson puts the tires through a variety of evaluations. He starts by testing on a snow-covered circuit. The Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 clocks the quickest time of 84.26 seconds, and the Falken Eurowinter HS02 Pro is the slowest at 90.66 seconds. The Hankook all-season rubber gets the 3 Series around the course in 87.12 seconds. The Ventus Prime 4 summer tire gives the BMW a lap time of 122.18 seconds.

Benson also singles out the Hankook Winter i*Cept Evo 3 for providing the most feedback through the steering wheel and giving the driver confidence when driving on the snow.

Driving in the winter is about more than just snow. Once the plow drivers get their work done, the streets might just be wet. Benson also evaluates the tires on a soaked circuit. The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 is the winner by clocking a time of 56.33 seconds. The second-place Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 does a lap in 57.53 seconds – over a second slower.

At the end of the video, Benson ranks all 11 tires from worst to best. There’s a tie for the winner.

If you don’t want to think about snow and winter, Benson also has a video comparing high-performance tires versus pure racing rubber. Another clip from him compares the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 against the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Ducati Dirty Dozen Challenge Launched For North American DesertX Riders

Ducati North America has just launched the Dirty Dozen Challenge for proud owners of the Ducati DesertX who live in North America. This challenge, created by DNA CEO Jason Chinnock, is a photo scavenger hunt that involves completing 12 challenging off-road routes on the DesertX.

If you’re interested in participating, there are videos on Ducati North America’s YouTube page that document Chinnock’s own journey completing the challenge in five days. This will give you a preview of what to expect if you decide to take on the challenge yourself.

All 12 routes of the challenge are located in the Colorado Rockies and cover mountain passes that are over 12,000 feet in elevation. To assist participants, Ducati has partnered with off-road map app OnX Offroad to create downloadable route maps that can be used during the challenge.

To access the route maps, you’ll need to visit Ducati’s official Dirty Dozen page and download the maps. It’s important to note that the OnX Offroad app is required to use these maps. Fortunately, the app is currently offering a free five-month trial exclusively for DesertX and Multistrada owners.

To successfully complete the Dirty Dozen Challenge, participants must ride their Ducati DesertX along each of the 12 mountain passes and locate the iconic signpost at each one. A photo must be taken as proof of completion, which should then be shared on social media using the hashtag #DucatiDirtyDozen and tagging @DucatiUSA.

Once participants have gathered photographic evidence of completing all 12 routes, they will receive a special limited-edition badge that can be placed on their DesertX. Completing the challenge will also provide a sense of personal satisfaction.

The 12 mountain passes involved in the challenge are: Imogene Pass (13,114 feet), Black Bear Pass (12,840 feet), Cinnamon Pass (12,620 feet), Engineer Pass (12,780 feet), Corkscrew Pass (12,220 feet), Hurricane Pass (12,700 feet), California Pass (12,900 feet), Stony Divide Pass (12,588 feet), Tincup Pass (12,154 feet), Cumberland Pass (12,034 feet), Hancock Pass (12,208 feet), and Mosquito Pass (13,185 feet).

For more information or to download the routes for further examination, visit the Ducati Dirty Dozen page.

Custom Mercedes Sprinter Camper Build Is A Kiteboarder’s Dream

When it comes to motorhomes, most of them are designed as a basic living space on wheels, equipped with a sleeping area, a small kitchen, and possibly a bathroom. However, Outside Van has created something unique with its Slim Chance concept, catering specifically to kiteboarders and foilers who require a vehicle to transport their gear for outdoor adventures.

The foundation for this build is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144 Chassis, which comes with all-wheel drive. Working closely with professional kiteboarder Ewan Jaspan and the team at outdoor gear company Naish USA, Outside Van has customized the vehicle to meet the specific needs of outdoor sports enthusiasts. Interestingly, the name “Slim Chance” is actually derived from a kiteboarding trick.

Motorized tricycles, also known as trikes, are a common sight in many places. However, it’s not every day that you come across a trike that is almost like a three-wheeled car. Introducing the 1995 Honda Gold Wing SE 20th Anniversary Edition with an enclosed roof. This trike features side panels with window-shaped portholes, allowing the pillion to enjoy the view. Additionally, there’s an opening at the rear of the roof-and-side surround to let in a cool breeze. The trike is finished in a deep purple color with chrome accents, electric blue pinstriping, and plush gray seats for both the rider and passenger.

This trike has a unique design reminiscent of Cinderella’s pumpkin coach, but with some distinctions. Firstly, it’s a Gold Wing instead of a pumpkin, and there are no mice turned horses. Additionally, its round and purple appearance resembles an Indian eggplant rather than a pumpkin. Moving on to its features, the trike boasts a stunned eagle fender ornament, large golden 20th Anniversary badges, a CB radio, aftermarket plush seats, and two spacious cupholders. The trike is set to be auctioned at Mecum Harrisburg in Pennsylvania, with an estimated price range of $20,000 to $25,000.
