Peugeot 5008

The inside structure of the 5008 hasn’t modified – and so this stays fairly a cleverly organized cabin with a couple of reservations to look at.

The rear passenger doorways open usefully extensive, and the second-row seats each slide fore and aft and fold down simply. None of the rearmost 5 seats supply nice outright house for taller adults, although, with headroom significantly restricted within the case of vehicles with Peugeot’s panoramic glass sunroof. Legroom is best – besides, for those who’re more likely to carry full-sized passengers within the second row, a Skoda Kodiaq can be roomier, and a Kia Sorento or Hyundai Sante Fe roomier once more.

Up entrance the top-level, extra-adjustable entrance seats that Peugeot suits to upper-level vehicles do get massagers as commonplace; they’re price having. The richness and perceived high quality of the 5008’s cockpit is in any other case spectacular; the chrome trims each feel and appear high-quality, the switchgear all feels strong, and the automobile’s varied fascia and door mouldings are properly completed.

The layered dashboard components entice your glances additionally. The means it curls across the cockpit and makes use of a number of uncommon however – outwardly, no less than – high-quality supplies may have you reaching for a contact once you first climb in. The extensive centre tunnel, in the meantime, and the way during which it separates the front-seat occupants, lends the cockpit a GT-car really feel that’s uncommon, however very welcome on this class.

The 5008’s infotainment system makes use of a ten.0in touchscreen but additionally employs separate toggle switches to convey up media, local weather management, navigation, car info and cellphone purposes. Along with the rotary dials for quantity, this makes it simple to barter on the transfer; though it’s a disgrace to see a lot of the show misplaced to temperature show, when separate bodily HVAC controls can be each simpler to make use of and liberate show actual property for different issues.

Latency of the touchscreen is pretty low, with the software program — which options Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility — exhibiting solely the occasional delay. The voice management operate works properly for easy instructions, comparable to selecting a radio station, nevertheless it was stumped each time we tried to set a navigation vacation spot.

There’s additionally Peugeot’s 12.3in display screen inside the instrument binnacle. It reveals fluid graphics and, together with the small steering wheel and central touchscreen, makes up the i-Cockpit. However, it’s a disgrace the 5008 doesn’t get the neat 3D floating graphics that function on the smaller 208 and 2008 fashions.

Peugeot’s compact steering wheel stands out, for higher or for worse. It’s designed to take a seat beneath the high-mounted 12.3in digital instrument binnacle, which is itself positioned in a means that shrinks the interval throughout which the motive force has his or her eyes off the street, like a midway home HUD.

This small, elliptical wheel is comfy to carry however laborious to place simply the place you need it; and in the meantime, a clumsy, distant feeling of steering the automobile from between your knees, regardless of how the column is adjusted, by some means outcomes from utilizing it. Perhaps it really works higher on the marque’s extra compact hatchbacks, with their decrease driving positions.

Crucially, the brand new 5008 retains the flexibility that outlined the unique – that’s, all three middle-row seats will be individually folded, and boast adjustable size and inclination. With the third-row seats stowed away, the boot is cavernous, and accessible through a powered tailgate that may be operated by gesture management, swiping your foot underneath the rear bumper (in our expertise, it really works about three-times-out-of-five-attempts).

The G-Wagen has carried Mercedes-Benz’s off-road torch for the previous 45 years. And the boxy SUV hasn’t modified a lot in practically half a century. But for 2024, Mercedes is lastly electrifying its iconic off-roader—mildly—forward of the upcoming EQG EV later this 12 months.

That offers the bottom G-Class 443 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, with the built-in starter generator alone delivering 20 hp and 148 lb-ft. Three mechanical differential locks pair with a switch case that provides low-range off-road gearing. The identical 9.5 inches of floor clearance sits stays, as does the truck’s 30- and 31-degree strategy and departure angles, respectively.

Mercedes baked an Off-Road Cockpit perform into the MBUX infotainment system to help off-roading. While the bottom G550 downsizes its engine, the performance-oriented G63 goes unchanged. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 carries over, with 577 hp and 627 lb-ft, and the identical 48-volt mild-hybrid help as the bottom mannequin. That’s sufficient energy to launch the G63 to 60 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds.

AMG Active Ride Control is a brand new possibility on the G63, and it provides hydraulic roll stabilization and adjustable adaptive damping for higher on- and off-road efficiency. You can get it as a part of the AMG Offroad Package Pro.

10 GSX-8S

Introduced in 2023

2023 Suzuki GSX-8S riding shot
Suzuki

Suzuki motorcycles often get a bad rap for being squid missiles, but switch out your flip-flops, tank tops, and baseball hats for proper riding gear, and you’ll start to appreciate Suzuki motorcycles for what they are. The GSX-8S is an excellent example — a practical, high-performing, and borderline over-engineered naked bike. This bike is developed out of the brand’s version of future sports bikes, as is evident by its futuristic design, but the robust parallel-twin engine is an old template perfected by Suzuki to be an effective implement for the platform. The GSX-8S aims to replace the long-celebrated SV650, and just like the latter, we fail to give enough credit to Suzuki for creating one of the best naked bikes in the segment.

  • It’s not as powerful or exciting as its rivals
  • Many riders would wish for a four-pot screamer in this segment

9 Aprilia Tuareg 660

Introduced in 2022

2024 Aprilia Tuareg 660 Dakar Podium Hero
Aprilia

2022 was a crazy year for Aprilia as it launched many new models and variants, including the Tuareg 660 — an ADV iteration of the massively successful 660 lineup. This middleweight ADV fills the void in the brand’s lineup of stunning road-going bikes by being a capable tourer and an off-roader. Also, the 660cc twin-cylinder engine feels so at home in this ADV avatar than in the RS 660, as if it was made for this bike only. Too bad, the Tuareg 660 is often ignored; it may not be as capable as a Tenere 700, but it brings a flair you won’t find in any other middleweight adventure bike.

Performance Specs

Engine

659 cc Liquid-cooled Parallel-twin

Power

80 horsepower

Torque

52 pound-feet

Weight

449 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$12,699

Pros

  • The parallel-twin engine is tractable and suited for off-road use
  • Like other Aprilias, it’s an excellent road bike
  • The chassis is predictable without sacrificing agility or sharpness

Cons

  • We wish it came with lean-sensitive ABS and traction control
  • The gearing feels too tall for proper off-road use
  • The Aprilia Quick Shift is a costly option

8 Triumph Tiger Sport 660

Introduced in 2022

Red Triumph Tiger Sport 660 leaning into a turn
Triumph Motorcycles

One of the most underrated motorcycles of the decade is the Triumph Tigert Sport 660, but we can’t blame anyone but Triumph for this. See, the 660 Triple platform is exhilarating, but the Trident doesn’t feel engaging enough; it is too soft and dull for many bikers. But in an adventure tourer setup like the Tiger Sport 660, the inline-triple engine feels at home. The Tiger Sport 660 is a capable, exhilarating touring bike that makes the Kawasaki Versys 600 feel like an elephant.

Another reason why the Tiger Sport 660 was dismissed by many was the (mis)naming of the bike. This is by no means a Triumph Tiger; this bike feels like a street bike with a semi-fairing and a windscreen — perfect for casual tourers and nothing else. The Tiger name should’ve been reserved for the more serious adventure touring motorcycles in the lineup. Nonetheless, the Tiger Sport 660, barring its name, is an excellent touring bike that many bikers will enjoy — it’s still Triumph in the sense of being versatile, polished, and exciting.

Performance Specs

Engine

660 cc Liquid-cooled Inline-three DOHC

Power

80 horsepower

Torque

47 pound-feet

Weight

454 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$9,695

Pros

  • The 660 Triple engine offers a broad, linear powerband
  • The riding position is comfortable, and the cockpit is not confusing or cluttered
  • It’s a versatile, practical touring bike

Cons

  • The front end tends to dive under hard braking
  • Despite being a touring motorcycle, it lacks features like cruise control and heated grips
  • Slight vibes creep in at 5,500 rpm, which is where you’ll spend most of your time in

7 Ducati Multistrada V2S

Introduced in 2022

Ducati Multistrada V2S
Ducati official

The Ducati Multistrada V4 defines the premium ADV segment, but it overshadows the Multistrada V2S. After all, why not — the V4 Granturismo engine will always win more hearts (and races) than the V2 Testeretta engine. But if you keep the spec sheet aside and compare the two bikes on the road, the Multistrada V2S is better than the V4 in many ways. It’s lighter, easier to ride, versatile, and can do everything the Multistrada V4 variant can, but a little slower. Yet, it’s enough to satiate your adventure and touring appetite without burning a big hole in your wallet. You won’t regret this purchase unless you only want the bragging right of having a V4 adventure bike.

Performance Specs

Engine

937 cc Liquid-cooled Desmodormic L-twin

Power

113 horsepower

Torque

71 pound-feet

Weight

445 pounds (dry)

Starting MSRP

$19,295

Pros

  • This “entry-level” Multistrada is almost as capable as the Multistrada V4 without the bells and whistles
  • It’s a light, nimble adventure tourer that you can take to the track
  • The design is still drool-worthy

Cons

  • The screen is too noisy for tall riders, which can be annoying on long hauls
  • It may feel outdated if you start nit-picking it
  • Despite being an ADV bike, it’s not even decently capable of off-roading

6 Harley-Davidson Sportster S

Introduced in 2021

Green 2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster S shown with accessories
Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson motorcycles are often associated with low-slung, slow-revving, laid-back cruisers, but the Sportsters S is not that. It’s more of a sport-naked bike wrapped in a cruiser aesthetic. Of course, the lack of the signature “potato” sound overshadowed these things; the new 1250 Revolution engine makes a much raspier sound — it still sounds terrific in our books, but it’s not a Harley sound. The looks are a hit or miss on most bikers, but it looks polished and modern, as you’d expect contemporary Harleys to look. While the brand missed its target audience and loyal customers with this bike, it’s still a fantastic bike that handles and sounds unlike a Harley, but who’s complaining?

Performance Specs

Engine

1,252 cc Liquid-cooled V-twin

Power

121 horsepower

Torque

94 pound-feet

Weight

502 pounds (wet)

Starting MSRP

$16,399

Pros

  • The power delivery is exciting, thanks to the potent V-twin engine
  • The refinement levels are on par with its Japanese rivals
  • It’s got the visual appeal to win awards and hearts

Cons

  • The signature Harley-Davidson sound is missing
  • It’s too sporty for a cruiser, too heavy for a street bike
  • The suspension travel is too short for everyday use

10 Reasons To Wait For The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata

The introduction of the Mazda MX-5 Miata at the Chicago Auto Show in 1989 changed the automotive world for the better. The MX-5 proved that cheap, low-powered, and light cars could be as sporty as their expensive, high-powered, heavy equivalents. Suddenly, the average Joe could afford a car that served as a daily driver and as a sporty car for weekend fun.

Several critics probably dismissed the Miata after learning it had an engine that made just 116 horsepower. However, with those 116 ponies, it dashed from naught to 60 MPH in a respectable 8.6 seconds. The light, nimble sports car also clung to corners like the universe’s fate depended on it.

Consequently, the model was an instant sensation. Having remained true to its minimalist and fun nature, the car has remained popular for over three decades. Change is on the horizon for the Miata, which is a cause for excitement. Here are 10 reasons to wait for the 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata.

We have studied manufacturer and regulator data and information from specialized sites like HotCars and MotorTrend to bring you the most exciting features of the upcoming Mazda Miata.

10 It May Be The Last Gas-Powered Miata

2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata Engine
Mazda

Mazda has made no secret of its plans to electrify its entire fleet by 2030, with fully electric vehicles making up at least 25 percent of the lineup. Therefore, there is no doubt that the Miata will be electrified. The expected release of the 2025 MX-5 in 2024 will coincide with the culmination of Mazda’s first phase of electrification, which involves streamlining supply chains and reducing costs.

However, Mazda has already shown its prowess in electric vehicle design. The assumption that it’s too early in Mazda’s electrification push for it to place a hybrid or pure-EV powertrain in the Miata is, therefore, misguided. On the other hand, Mazda might produce the last gas-powered MX-5. The 2025 Miata might be the last one running on gasoline alone. If that proves true, the upcoming vehicle may be the most valuable of all MX-5 models.

9 The 2025 Miata May Be A Mild Hybrid

Mazda 3.3-liter Inline-Six with mild-hybrid motor
Mazda

The level of electrification that the Miata will get remains a mystery. Nevertheless, the MX-5 will likely adopt a mild hybrid setup with a 24-volt or 48-volt battery pack. The hybrid system’s provision of extra power will likely offset the increase in weight expected with the additional hardware.

A mild-hybrid system is probably the lightest electrification system that can be incorporated into the MX-5. Lightness is vital to the Miata’s identity, so Mazda will opt for the electrification method that adds the least weight. As such, the likelihood of an all-electric vehicle is low. To give the car decent range, Mazda would have to install a massive battery pack in the MX-5, adding weight and impacting performance and drivability.

Mazda could also stick a rotary engine in the front of the Miata and use it to charge the batteries powering the vehicle like it is doing with the Mazda Mx-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV. Such a system would reduce the batteries needed to power the MX-5 for long distances, allowing Mazda to keep weight down. The use of a lightweight rotary engine would also help keep the overall weight low.

8 The Miata Will Probably Get Lighter

Mazda MX-5 Miata Electric Preview
Mazda

It’s perhaps unsurprising that the lightest Miata at launch was the first one. Improvements in car safety meant it was inevitable that all cars, the MX-5 included, would gain weight. The second-gen MX-5 gained an ultimately insignificant 80 pounds. The third-gen MX-5, however, was nearly 300 pounds heavier than the original car.

For a car like the Miata, 300 pounds was a lot. Despite its added refinement, the NC-generation model was unpopular – it didn’t feel quite as agile as the Miata it had replaced. In response, Mazda began a weight-shedding exercise that cut nearly 150 pounds from the car: the ND-gen car tipped the scales at 2,332 pounds. The 2025 MX-5 could be even lighter: reports suggest that Mazda is targeting a 2,200-pound curb weight.

7 Improvements To The Car’s Fuel Efficiency

The MX-5 is already a frugal sports car when it comes to fuel consumption: the vehicle has a combined fuel efficiency of 29 MPG or 30 MPG, with the automatic variant being a tad more efficient than the manual model. That number is bound to improve, especially if the 2025 Miata features an electrified powertrain.

Improved consumption won’t mean a reduction in power.

Mazda’s target for the new MX-5 is 100 horsepower or more per liter, translating to at least 200 horsepower for the 2.0-liter Miata (the current Miata engine produces 181 horsepower). It could mean that the upcoming car will likely be quicker than the model it replaces. Estimates suggest that the 0-60 time will drop from 6.2 seconds to the high-five-second range.

6 Improved Driving Dynamics

Mazda

The Miata has always retained its excellent driving dynamics, even when it gained considerable weight in the 2000s. With more power and reduced weight, the 2025 model could be the most fun to drive. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the car’s powertrain, it’s expected that the MX-5 will retain its excellent handling attributes.

A degree of skepticism is allowed, considering Mazda is forging into new territory with the new MX-5. However, history has proven that Mazda knows how to get it right. The satisfied grin you had when driving past Miatas up and down canyon roads may grow even wider as you chuck the new Miata into the corners of your favorite windy road.

5 The MX-5 Will Remain Affordable

The Mazda Miata ushered in the era of affordable sports cars. Before 1989, enthusiasts had to dig deep into their pockets to afford sporty vehicles. The MX-5 created a new segment that automakers rushed to exploit. Despite the introduction of worthy competitors, the Miata remained the most popular car in the segment, partly because it remained affordable.

The 2023 Miata starts at a little over $28,000, making it cheaper than rivals like the Toyota GR86. The car’s MSRP is expected to increase, especially if electrification occurs. However, a look at other Mazda models shows that the adoption of electric powertrains doesn’t lead to a huge price increase: the difference between the MSRPs of the gas-powered CX-9 and its replacement, the mild-hybrid CX-90, is only $845.

4 The Likelihood Of Special Variants To Mark The End Of Gas-Powered Miatas

A collection of different Miatas parked up facing front
Mazda

Like many automakers, Mazda offers different variants of the Miata. The car’s underpinnings remain similar across the variants, with the pricier trims having more standard equipment. Things could change with the 2025 MX-5 if it truly is the last gas-powered Miata. Mazda may draw inspiration from Dodge when deciding how to bid adieu to the gas-powered MX-5.

Dodge turned the discontinuation of its iconic gas-powered muscle cars into a celebration of the internal combustion engine: the automaker announced seven outrageous special edition ‘Last Call’ muscle cars. It was the perfect way for Dodge to send off two of its most famous cars. The Miata and Dodge’s muscle cars are fundamentally different cars. However, Mazda could follow Dodge’s lead and release several special variants to mark the end of the gas-powered MX-5.

Unlike Dodge’s muscle cars, the MX-5 will remain. However, no one is sure how the electrification will change the vehicle. Therefore, the Miata as we know it now deserves a grandstand farewell, and the best way to do that may involve copying Dodge.

3 Improved Safety And Infotainment Technology

Mazda MX-5 Miata Interior
Mazda

Mazda has no choice but to improve the Miata’s safety and cybersecurity features – they will become outdated soon. The car already had an impressive slate of safety features, including:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring System
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rain sensing wipers
  • Automatic adaptive headlights
  • Lane Departure Warning

The 2025 Miata will likely have more safety features. It’s also expected that the upcoming MX-5 will feature improved infotainment technology. The vehicle should feature a larger infotainment touchscreen, navigation across all models, and wireless charging.

2 A Redesigned Interior

The interior of the MX-5 epitomizes minimalism. It gives off the sense that Mazda would have been amenable to only fitting a shifter, pedals, steering wheel, tachometer, and one seat for the driver. Given the Miata’s low price, you understand why the interior doesn’t feature posh materials or high-tech gizmos. Nevertheless, Mazda will likely redesign the car’s interior, though not by much.

The automaker might fit a few more cubbyholes to store personal effects and increase leg space for the occupants. The vehicle lags behind badly compared to its competitors when it comes to cargo space, which could motivate Mazda to increase cargo volume.

Spy shots of the upcoming Mazda Miata suggest that the Mazda Miata’s shell won’t change much. The photos showed minimal changes, including wider rear fenders, which indicate that the new MX-5 will feature a wider rear track, improving rear grip. The images suggested that parts like the fascia, headlights, taillights, and exhaust pipes will carry over to the 2025 car.

However, the vehicle shown was likely a mule fitted with the current model’s body. Reports suggest the 2025 Miata will feature updated lights and a redesigned fascia. The MX-5’s exterior updates will likely be evolutionary rather than revolutionary, retaining its understated looks.

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona Electric line-up remains the same, offering two models: the Standard Range and the Long Range. The Standard Range model comes with a 154bhp motor and a 48.4kWh battery, while the Long Range model boasts a more powerful 214bhp motor and a larger 65.4kWh battery. We had the opportunity to test drive the entry-level model, which has an estimated range of 234 miles. Although it falls slightly short compared to rivals like the Peugeot e-2008 (250 miles), it still outperforms the entry-level Volvo EX30 (214 miles).

The Long Range model, starting at a price of £38,595, offers an impressive range of 306 miles, surpassing the Kia Niro EV which shares the same platform. Both variants can charge at a maximum rate of 102.3kW, which may not be groundbreaking but is sufficient given the battery sizes. Additionally, a heat pump comes as standard, ensuring that the range does not dramatically decrease in colder winter months.

In terms of the Standard Range model, it will only be available in the UK in the entry-level Advance trim, featuring 17-inch wheels and luxury amenities such as dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Long Range model, on the other hand, offers more trim options including N Line and N Line S trims, which are set to be released in 2024 with 19-inch wheels and unique styling elements. There is also a range-topping Ultimate trim, priced from £43,095, which includes 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, a sunroof, a Bose stereo system, and additional driver assistance systems.

Modded Nissan Skyline R34 Sedan with 800 HP Shoots Flames from Exhaust

The Nissan Skyline has gone through significant changes since its first-generation model debuted in 1957. With the return of the GT-R name in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Skyline became a performance powerhouse and gained legendary status by the time the R34 model arrived just before the end of the Millennium.

The R34 was available in three body styles, with the sedan having a relatively sedate appearance. However, appearances can be deceiving, as That Racing Channel presents a modified Skyline sedan that shoots flames out of its big, round tailpipe.

The car’s RB26 engine received extensive upgrades, though the specific modifications were not mentioned in the video. The 2.6-liter straight-six engine now produces 800 horsepower after receiving head and block work and a new turbo. This power is delivered through the stock transmission to the car’s factory all-wheel-drive system. In the video, the car emits an aggressive exhaust note and features noticeable turbocharger noise.

The car was built by Drag International, a South Florida shop specializing in upgrading Japanese domestic market (JDM) products. While an 800-hp Nissan Skyline R34 might seem modest compared to the shop’s other creations, which can generate up to 1,500 hp, this particular Skyline still has its stock gearbox, which may not be ready to handle additional power.

Regarding the future of the Skyline, there have been rumors that it may become an electric SUV; however, nothing official has been announced by Nissan. Currently, the Skyline exists as a rebadged Infiniti Q50 since the thirteenth-generation model began production in 2014.

In the US, the GT-R exists as a separate model and has been updated for 2024. Nissan has hinted at the possibility of the model becoming fully electric in the future, but concerns about the technology’s viability in a high-performance application remain. Other automakers also face similar challenges as they transition to battery power, as more horsepower typically leads to reduced range, and finding the right balance with current technology is difficult.

For now, Nissan’s 3.8-liter V6 engine will continue to power the GT-R. The company is actively working on expanding its electric vehicle lineup and aims to have 19 fully electric models available for sale by the end of the decade. Additionally, Nissan plans to introduce 27 new hybrids. The future of the Skyline and GT-R will be a part of this overall strategy.

Valtteri Bottas Takes Delivery Of Bluetiful Mercedes-AMG One

Valtteri Bottas, who recently moved from Mercedes to Alfa Romeo for the 2022 season, has taken delivery of his Mercedes-AMG One hypercar. He shared pictures of the car on his Instagram, showcasing its stunning blue color and exposed carbon fiber accents.

The delivery of Bottas’ AMG One comes after Mercedes has already started delivering the long-awaited hypercar to customers since January 2023. Other Formula 1 drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are also among the 275 buyers who have purchased the AMG One.

The AMG One, which was initially shown as a concept in 2017, faced development challenges that delayed its production start until August 2022. Mercedes eventually resolved these issues, including finding a solution for the turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine to idle at 1,200 rpm instead of 5,000 rpm, in line with F1 car regulations. Stricter emissions regulations also posed a challenge during its development.

This hypercar features a fragile six-cylinder engine that needs to be rebuilt every 50,000 kilometers. However, considering the rarity of the AMG One and the fact that Mercedes has announced it won’t produce another F1-engined road car, owners are likely to preserve its value by keeping it in climate-controlled garages.

The AMG One is hand-assembled in Coventry, UK, using a hybrid powertrain produced by the Mercedes‑AMG High Performance Powertrains division in Brixworth. This car, with its combined output of 1,049 horsepower, can reach 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 219 mph.
