2024 BMW X2 Spotted in Base Trim Revealing More of Its Front End

Last year, the upcoming BMW X2 was first captured by spy photographers, showcasing its sleek coupe-like profile. Since then, various prototypes of the crossover have been spotted multiple times (refer to the related links below), and today we have a fresh set of spy shots featuring what appears to be the base model of the X2, wearing less camouflage than previous sightings.

This test vehicle, with Munich registration plates, exhibits a distinct front fascia compared to the M35i or M40i variant observed last month. Notable changes include updated designs for both the upper and lower grilles, as well as a revised bumper design. The headlights are likely to be the same, but extensive camouflage still obscures the lighting clusters, making it difficult to provide a final assessment.

2024 Hyundai Santa Fe: A New Look and Boxier Styling

The upcoming fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe has been revealed, and it’s a significant departure from its predecessor. The midsize SUV has ditched its old design in favor of a refreshingly boxy aesthetic, complete with unique “H” motif lights. This fully redesigned model features a more rugged appearance, sporting 21-inch alloy wheels with 245/45 R21 tires neatly housed within square wheel arches. The vehicle boasts a spacious interior and a massive tailgate that matches its width.

The taillights are positioned low on the vehicle and share the distinctive “H” theme, while the tailgate proudly displays the Hyundai logo and prominently labeled “Santa Fe” lettering. While Hyundai has not provided any technical specifications, it has indicated that the wheelbase has been extended. For reference, the previous generation Santa Fe had a wheelbase of 108.9 inches (2765 millimeters). The automaker acknowledges that this bold redesign takes an unconventional approach to deliver a fresh look while maximizing interior space.

Lyft Sends $1K Card To A Family Named Uber

Signing up for a ride-sharing app like Uber or Lyft is usually as straightforward as it gets, but not if your last name is identical to the name of the app, it seems.

As it turns out, there’s an actual Uber family out there, and none of its members was able to sign up for an account with the app that bears the same name as them, returning an error message that said: “given last name not valid,” presumably because nobody at Uber the app ever thought there would actually be someone bearing this last name, or because of a security concern.

Additionally, according to the quickstitchplus Threads account, which was founded by one of the family members, the Uber family was mysteriously removed from the same name ride-sharing app last year because of an unspecified violation of the terms and conditions.

But here’s where the power of social media comes into play because none other than rival ride-sharing app Lyft got into the conversation and seized the opportunity to make a splash by offering the Uber family a $1,000 gift card for Lyft rides.

The story unfolded on the freshly launched Threads social media platform, where there was a photo of the gift card posted on the official Lyft account and a description that asked the Uber family to get in touch with the company.

And that’s exactly what happened, with Michele Uber getting word of what was going on at the pink-colored firm and posting a reply on her own account: “Sorry, Uber, this Uber Fam chooses Lyft.”

Bri Reynold, the ride-sharing company’s social media manager, said on her LinkedIn account that they immediately saw this as a golden opportunity to make the Uber family’s life a little less complicated.

“Who knew Threads would have led to this,” she wrote. “Yesterday we met The Uber family on threads (yes their last name is actually Uber). They haven’t been able to make any Uber profiles because their last name is registering as an ‘invalid entry’ (lol). Immediately saw this as a GOLDEN opportunity for us to show up for them.”

As always, we’d like to know what you think about this, so head over to the comments section below to give us your thoughts.

McMurtry Speirling: Still Insanely Fast at Goodwood, Even in Wet Conditions

Last year, the McMurtry Speirling proved to be the undisputed champion at Goodwood. With an astonishing time of 39.08 seconds, it shattered the previous record held by the Volkswagen ID.R race car by nearly a full second on the 1.16-mile driveway course.

Now, the Speirling returns to the Festival Of Speed for the 2023 edition. The same prototype that set the record last year faced the hill climb once again on the second day of the Festival – and it remains incredibly fast, even in wet conditions.

Despite the damp track, the 1,000-plus horsepower Speirling effortlessly raced down the front straight and into the first corner, showcasing its impressive speed. Measuring only 126.0 inches in length and weighing less than 2,205 pounds, this penny racer handles corners like a go-kart, leaving a trail of rain in its wake.

Get Your Hands on This Custom Military-Inspired Mercedes, Including a Fake Machine Gun

If the iconic movie character Mad Max were to drive a Mercedes instead of “the last of the V8 interceptors,” he would surely choose the unique ‘Benz that Greg Rogers is currently selling. This one-of-a-kind vehicle features an ML430 chassis with a 300E body on top. Known as the ME43, this eye-catching creation is currently available on Facebook Marketplace for $4,500 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rogers, a Mercedes expert with 37 years of experience, used to own and operate his own shop until his retirement in August. The idea for this extraordinary build came to him when he had a 300E with a faulty engine but a well-maintained interior, as well as a wrecked ML430. Remarkably, the wheelbases of both vehicles were similar enough to allow for their successful combination.

Audi R8 Upgraded to 830 HP with VF Engineering’s Supercharger

Last year, Audi made the announcement that the R8 will be discontinued after the 2023 model year. To commemorate the 16-year production run of this supercar, the German company introduced the 2023 R8 GT RWD limited edition, consisting of only 150 units priced at $249,900 each. If you missed out on purchasing the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Audi, you have another option – buying a used R8 and enhancing it with VF Engineering’s bolt-on supercharger system.

VF Engineering, an American tuning company, has designed a kit that can be installed on various versions of the R8, including the standard R8 V10, R8 V10 RWS, and R8 V10 Plus, regardless of their specific configurations offered worldwide. The key component of this system is the Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, incorporating an air-water after cooling system. This package can be easily installed on the 5.2-liter V10 engine without requiring any additional hardware modifications, making it fully reversible.
