Towing Capacity Compared To The Previous Generation
Improvements over the previous generation are evident in the latest Tacoma. The base engine matches the power of the outgoing range-topping V-6 and boasts even more torque.
Alternatively, the i-Force max hybrid engine, with more power and torque than the old V-6 and current 2.7-liter turbo ICE, offers better fuel efficiency. Compared to the last model, the new Tacoma excels in towing, with the previous truck’s standard towing capacity of 3,500 pounds surpassed. The old model’s maximum towing capacity reaches 6,800 pounds with a slightly inferior max payload of 1,685 pounds, outperforming new Tacoma’s maximum towing by 300 pounds, but only available in one trim – the 4×2 access cab with the V-6 and six-foot bed.
Towing Assistance Features
Enhancing the towing experience, the 2024 Tacoma comes with a new suite of assistance features. These features simplify movement and maneuverability, especially when towing a trailer. Notable towing assistance features in the Toyota Tacoma include:
Trailer brake controller: Monitors and identifies blind spots for the truck and trailer.
Trailer backup guide: Assists in maneuvering the truck and trailer.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift was revealed in Japan recently and its testing has also begun in India. This sporty hatchback, in its new generation, will be entering the Indian market soon and it will continue its rivalry with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. However, the updated one will come with many new features, making the competition tougher. Here are 5 such features which are expected to be present on the India-spec 2024 Maruti Swift.
A Bigger Touchscreen
The current Maruti Swift in India packs a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is smaller than the Grand i10 Nios’ 8-inch unit. In its new generation, the Swift will come with a 9-inch touchscreen, similar to the one seen on other modern Maruti models like the Baleno, Brezza and Fronx. While it will continue to have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, we believe Maruti could offer wireless smartphone connectivity with the hatchback’s fourth-gen model.
Electronic Parking Brake
A new convenience feature was seen in the fourth-gen Swift when it was unveiled in Japan: an electronic parking brake. While not a seemingly big feature addition, it does add convenience and opens up more space in the centre console. Also, along with an electronic parking brake, the new Swift also gets auto-hold function.
One of the test mules of the 2024 Swift in India had the blind spot monitor warning blinking on its ORVMs, confirming that this feature is being tested for the Indian market. So even if its entire suite of ADAS features doesn’t make it to India, a blind spot monitor will be present for improved safety.
360-degree Camera
Along with a blind spot monitor, the 2024 Swift in India will also most likely borrow the 360-degree camera setup from the Baleno for additional convenience. The current Swift and the Grand i10 Nios both only offer a rearview camera, but the presence of a blind view monitor on the India-spec version suggest the presence of additional cameras on the ORVMs.
Paddle Shifters
Another convenience feature that comes in handy in an automatic car will most likely be offered in the India-spec 2024 Swift. While the carmaker has introduced a proper CVT transmission in its home market, the India-spec model will most likely continue with the AMT, which can come with paddle shifters as well. Currently, the only car in India which offers an AMT with paddle shifters is the Hyundai Exter, a micro SUV based on the Grand i10 Nios.

The current fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has been in the US since 2020. The compact SUV is getting a facelift for the 2025 model year. While it may look similar on the outside, there are changes to the front grille and skid plates that make the Tucson appear wider.
The interior has been completely reconfigured, featuring a dashboard similar to a next-generation model. Like the Ioniq 5, the Tucson now has two 12.3-inch screens and the Hyundai logo on the steering wheel has been replaced by four dots, which represent the letter “H” in Morse code.
The climate control switchgear has been revamped, featuring more conventional controls and old-school buttons. They have also added a pair of rotary knobs with built-in screens for the AC and two silver knobs for the volume controls and other settings. Furthermore, the central air vents are slimmer than before, creating the illusion of a continuous vent across the dashboard.
Further changes to the dashboard include relocating the gear selector to the steering wheel column, allowing Hyundai to integrate a large wireless charging pad, two big cup holders, and a row of buttons ahead of them in the center console. The high-end version features premium stitching on the door cards and dashboard, as well as perforated leather on the seats.
Hyundai has not revealed more about the update yet. The 2025 model year update is expected to be available after the 2024 Tucson has already been debuted in the United States.
The fourth-generation Chevrolet Corvette – or simply C4 to fans – was in production from 1984 to 1996 model years. This video from Retro Cars Forever compares two of the more potent variants of this model: the ZR-1 and the ’96 example with the LT4 engine.
The ZR-1, unlike the modern iterations, was a high-tech machine for its era. General Motors controlled Lotus at the time and contracted the British team to create a V8 for this range-topping model. The result was a 5.7-liter V8 with dual camshafts for each bank of cylinders – a significant change from the pushrod-equipped, overhead-valve layout available from other ‘Vette engines.
The Lotus-tuned V8 made 375 horsepower at introduction and 405 hp after the 1993 model. Plus, the mill had a redline at 7,200 rpm. To put that spec into perspective, the 3.4-liter V8 in the Ferrari 348, available around the same as the ZR1, made 320 hp at 7,200 revs.
The road-going C4 always used a 5.7-liter V8, but Chevy improved it several times during the production run. The 1996 model was the finale for the fourth-gen ‘Vette, but the Bowtie decided to introduce the new LT4 engine as an option. It made 330 hp, according to the factory specs. In the video, host Brad Hansen notes this output is possibly lower than the actual figure, with dynos putting the number between 350 and 360 hp.
Retro Cars Forever does real-world 0-60-mph acceleration runs in both cars with two passengers inside. The LT4-equipped C4 tallies a best time of 6.78 seconds. The ZR-1’s top sprint takes 6.46 seconds.
The LT4 comes out on top as a car you would drive regularly. This engine is an evolution of the venerable Chevy small-black V8, making repairs easier than the ZR-1’s more exotic engine.
Plus, the ZR-1 features unique bodywork, like doors that flare outward to the wider fenders. In the event of damage, it will be more complicated to find replacement parts than for a C4, which has a more common exterior.
So, which one should you get? The video leaves that up to the individual. In their current condition, both of these Corvettes are worth around $25,000. However, the later, more powerful ZR-1s command more, and the LT4-equipped Grand Sport also goes for a premium. Meanwhile, folks with more modest budgets can check out the earlier, lower-output examples that are less expensive, judging by a report from Hagerty Insurance.

Just a few days after its concept debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, the test mule of the fourth-generation Maruti Swift has been spotted in India under heavy camouflage. The new spy shots of the India-spec 2024 Swift reveal new design elements, closely resembling the production-ready concept showcased in Japan. Let’s take a closer look at these spy shots.
New Grille & Lighting Setup
The new-gen Maruti Swift sports a rounded grille along with an updated all LED headlight setup, including LED fog lights. While the front bumper remains under wraps, it seems to have undergone some design tweaks as well.
When it comes to the profile, it closely resembles the current-generation Swift, but the spy shots reveal a new set of blacked-out alloy wheels. One noticeable change is the rear door handle placement, which has been brought back on the rear door itself, in contrast to the existing Swift where it is positioned on the C-pillar. At the rear, the new Swift boasts redesigned LED taillamps, along with an updated tailgate and rear bumper.
While none of the Maruti cars in India currently offer the blind spot detection feature, it appears that the fourth-generation India-spec Maruti Swift might become the first to incorporate it. In the spy shot above, you can clearly see the ORVMs equipped with a blind spot detection.
Expected Changes Inside
While the interior of the production-spec 2024 Maruti Swift has not been spied in detail, it is likely to have a dashboard layout similar to the one seen in the Japan-spec Swift concept. The spy shots also provide a sneak peek at the infotainment screen, which bears a resemblance to those 9-inch units found on other Maruti models.
In terms of features, the fourth-generation Maruti Swift is expected to have push button start/stop, wireless charging, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The safety kit could include up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, and a rear parking camera.
The India-spec 2024 Maruti Swift will most likely debut the updated version of the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine showcased at the Japan mobility show which is expected to offer a bit more torque. The current Swift’s 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit (90PS/113Nm) gets a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT.
Expected Launch & Rivals
In India, the fourth-generation Maruti Swift is expected to go on sale with a starting price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios while being a sporty alternative to the likes of the Maruti Wagon R and Maruti Ignis.
Mazda introduced the Miata RF in late 2016, offering a retractable hardtop option for the fourth-generation roadster. However, a 2023 model owner of the Miata RF now regrets their decision and prefers the ragtop version.
Although the Miata RF has a solid roof, it is still considered a convertible for track-day purposes. This means that if the owner wishes to compete in their local time-attack series, they would need to install a roll bar. While retailers do offer roll bars, installing one interferes with the retractable functionality of the roof. As a result, once the roll bar is installed, the roof cannot be lowered, which is a feature the owner enjoys.
About three and a half years have passed since Kia introduced the fourth-generation Carnival, and with life cycles getting shorter, it’s no wonder that the minivan is already due for a facelift. Confirmed to debut before the end of the year, the revised family hauler was seen in South Korea while shooting an ad. In the age of smartphones and social media, it didn’t take long for someone to immortalize the grocery-getter and put the images on Instagram.
In typical Kia fashion, the 2025 Carnival is going through major changes for only a mid-cycle revision. Shaped somewhat like a “T,” the headlights are entirely new and adopt design cues we’ve seen on the company’s latest crop of EVs. It’s easy to notice the grille has a new shape with a wider lower section than before while the pattern has been modified as well. We can’t tell for sure, but it looks as though the fog lights are no longer mounted in the bumper, which also gets a new look.
Typical for a facelift, the profile is essentially carried over, although we don’t remember seeing those two-tone wheels before. At the rear, the taillights echo the changes made at the front as the clusters also form a “T” and meet in the middle courtesy of an updated light bar. Eagle-eyed readers will observe the Kia badge no longer bisects the light bar since it has been moved below. The bumper has been modified, but nothing to write home about. After all, it is a minivan.
Multiple reports state Kia plans to overhaul the interior by installing a pair of 12-inch screens, a new head-up display, fingerprint recognition tech, and massaging seats borrowed from the EV9 electric SUV. We’re hearing it’s also getting a more advanced semi-autonomous driving system along with a hybrid powertrain, possibly borrowed from the Sorento. In the SUV, a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine works with an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton meters) of torque.
Expect an official debut in the coming weeks, possibly first in South Korea before the equivalent U.S.-spec model.
