  • Expected to be launched in India by the second half of 2024 or by early 2025.

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson has been officially revealed globally. The fourth-generation of the premium SUV has undergone a midlife update, which involved a tweaked exterior design, and a redesigned cabin. While Hyundai has not revealed its engine specifications, we can check out the design changes that this update has brought.

Exterior

The facia still sports the Parametric Jewel grille design with the lighting setup, but it has been slightly altered for a smoother aesthetic. This grille now has a sleeker and wider look, and the horizontal elements of the grille have been redesigned as well. Additionally, it now boasts a larger front bumper with a skid plate, sharper cuts and a slightly tweaked headlamp design.

The side profile is more or less the same as before. The sharp cuts, doors, cladding, window line, and the roof design have been left unchanged, but the design of the alloy wheels is completely new. At the rear, the skid plate has been integrated into the bumper and made slightly bigger.

Cabin

The facelifted Tucson gets the most significant changes inside the cabin, which has been elevated for a premium experience. The dashboard design, while carrying similar elements, has been completely overhauled. It now houses a dual-integrated screen setup, somewhat similar to that of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, and the steering wheel has been changed as well.

Regarding features, Hyundai has not revealed any specifications for the updated Europe-spec SUV, but some features like dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS tech like adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking will be carried forward from its current version.

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Has A New Interior That Brings Back Buttons

The current fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has been in the US since 2020. The compact SUV is getting a facelift for the 2025 model year. While it may look similar on the outside, there are changes to the front grille and skid plates that make the Tucson appear wider.

The interior has been completely reconfigured, featuring a dashboard similar to a next-generation model. Like the Ioniq 5, the Tucson now has two 12.3-inch screens and the Hyundai logo on the steering wheel has been replaced by four dots, which represent the letter “H” in Morse code.

The climate control switchgear has been revamped, featuring more conventional controls and old-school buttons. They have also added a pair of rotary knobs with built-in screens for the AC and two silver knobs for the volume controls and other settings. Furthermore, the central air vents are slimmer than before, creating the illusion of a continuous vent across the dashboard.

Further changes to the dashboard include relocating the gear selector to the steering wheel column, allowing Hyundai to integrate a large wireless charging pad, two big cup holders, and a row of buttons ahead of them in the center console. The high-end version features premium stitching on the door cards and dashboard, as well as perforated leather on the seats.

Hyundai has not revealed more about the update yet. The 2025 model year update is expected to be available after the 2024 Tucson has already been debuted in the United States.

New Hyundai Tucson brings redesign and physical heater controls

Hyundai has updated the Tucson with a simplified look and an all-new cockpit to bring it into line with its newer electric siblings, the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.

The new car, set to launch in the UK in May 2024, has a refined aesthetic that aligns with Hyundai’s new Parametrics Dynamics design language, as seen on the new Kona and Santa Fe.

It features a redesigned front grille, skid plates at the front and rear to emphasize its width, slightly restyled headlights and a new alloy-wheel design.

Inside, the infotainment touchscreen and driver display are now integrated into a slick, curved one-piece panel behind a new-look steering wheel with a cleaner design.

The centre console has also been tidied up, and there’s a new haptic control stack for various functions. Physical heater dials make a return, aimed at enhancing usability on the move. The slimmer centre stack has also made room for a larger storage space in front of the centre console.

The Tucson was the best-selling compact SUV in Europe in 2022, with 116,738 examples sold two years after its 2020 launch, beating its key rivals, the Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota RAV4 and Ford Kuga.

The Most Reliable Hyundai Models Ever Built, Ranked

Equally ranked alongside the Sonata is the Tucson SUV, one of the best-known Hyundai nameplates and also one of the most appealing cars in its class. The Tucson is highly regarded due to its outstanding features, design, and price. Its strong sales reflect its popularity, and despite the potential risks of an extensive redesign, Hyundai revamped the interior and exterior for the 2022 model year.

Our review found the revisions to be impressive overall, with a few minor drawbacks: The infotainment system in the top-spec model was not the best in its class and was somewhat difficult to use, and the engine performance fell slightly short of expectations. Although there is only one engine option available, the numerous improvements over the previous model make it a recommended choice, including its reliability rating of 8.0/10 according to iSeeCars.

Hyundai Tucson Facelift Spied While Towing

The latest sighting of the updated Hyundai Tucson during its development shows the SUV towing a trailer on a winding road. We anticipate its release in South Korea first, with a premiere in the US expected to take place early next year.

The Hyundai engineering team has covered the Tucson with a combination of camouflage wrap and black fabric, concealing blocky sections underneath. Furthermore, a large panel on the hatchback obscures the appearance of the rear of the vehicle.

Hyundai Tucson Facelift Drops Camo While Working Hard In New Spy Shots

The current-generation Hyundai Tucson is not old. It was revealed in 2020 and launched as a 2022 model-year vehicle. Despite its recent release, Hyundai is determined to keep its popular SUV fresh. Now, new spy shots give us a better idea of the planned changes for the next iteration.

These photos capture a test vehicle without heavy camouflage at the front. This is different from our previous Tucson sightings, and it reveals something interesting. Unless there are false panels behind the white camo wrap, it appears that the grille is smaller. It is not significantly smaller, but attaching a front number plate helps highlight the difference. Additionally, the upper portion of the fascia between the grille and lower intake seems larger, with more space above the plate compared to the current model.

Hyundai Tucson Facelift Spied Testing Towing A Trailer

The updated Hyundai Tucson is creating a lot of buzz as the company keeps it heavily camouflaged during this test session. The prototype of the refreshed South Korean model was recently spotted in the Austrian Alps, towing a small trailer.

Due to the thick disguise, it’s hard to make out any changes to the exterior. However, a sneak peek of a new grille can be seen at the front. While the overall shape remains the same, there seems to be a new grille pattern. As for the headlights, it’s difficult to confirm if any tweaks have been made.
