Spruce Up Your Bike’s Tech With New NaviCam Aftermarket Display

Modern motorcycles now come equipped with full-color TFT displays, even on entry-level models. However, not all displays are created equal and some offer more features than others. NaviCam, a startup, aims to address this issue with their latest product – the CL876 aftermarket dash. This dash integrates dashcam functionality, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto, providing riders of affordable motorcycles with connectivity features typically found on more expensive bikes.

The CL876 is designed to be universally compatible with all motorcycles, regardless of their age. This makes it particularly useful for those who commute on older motorcycles or simply want to enhance the technology of their touring bikes. The display can be mounted in various configurations, utilizing a ball and socket mechanism that allows for easy adjustability. NaviCam offers a claw mount, handlebar mount, and steering stem mount options.

In addition to navigation and music streaming capabilities, the CL876 also features a wired connection to a 1080p/60fps dashcam installed on both the front and rear of the bike. It also includes a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which is not commonly found on mid-tier models. However, the dashcam and TPMS functionalities are premium features that come at an additional cost, as they are not standard with the CL876.

LG Releases Exclusive ‘League Of Legends’ UltraGear Gaming Monitor

LG has unveiled a new gaming monitor that is specifically designed for gamers who enjoy playing the popular game, “League of Legends.” The monitor features a 27-inch OLED borderless display with HDR10 support and runs at a remarkable 240Hz refresh rate, offering an impressive response time of just .03 milliseconds Gray-to-Gray. A higher refresh rate enhances the smoothness of framerates, resulting in a more responsive gaming experience. While most gaming monitors currently offer a refresh rate of 144Hz or 165Hz, LG has significantly raised the bar with this new display, which may positively impact players who rely on precise frame-perfect actions. Additionally, the monitor boasts a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and is equipped with anti-glare and low reflection technology.

Aside from its remarkable internal components, the monitor also features a Hextech-inspired design on its exterior, incorporating metal elements and LED lighting to enhance the display’s visual appeal. The device’s settings and options are presented through a unique “League of Legends” interface, specifically tailored for gamers.

Similar to other gaming monitors, this LG UltraGear OLED model, known as the 27GR95QL, allows users to adjust the display’s height and tilt, swivel, and pivot the screen to achieve their desired viewing angle. The monitor is currently available for purchase exclusively through LG’s website, but it is only accessible in select locations, including the U.K., France, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Saudia Arabia, and South Korea. As it is a limited edition release, the monitor’s pricing has not been officially announced yet, but it is expected to be relatively expensive compared to similar displays.

The Display Setting That Will Improve Your Laptop’s Battery Life

If you own a MacBook, there is a display setting that can help improve your laptop’s battery life. This setting allows you to control when the display automatically turns off when running on the battery and when connected to a power source. By adjusting this setting, you can ensure that the display turns off after a specified duration of inactivity, effectively conserving battery power. However, please note that the display will not turn off when you are watching videos, such as streaming on Netflix or YouTube.

To change the screen timeout settings on your MacBook, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Apple menu.
  2. Select System Settings.
  3. Click on Lock Screen in the sidebar.
  4. Choose the dropdown menu next to “Turn display off on battery when inactive”.
  5. Select your preferred duration, such as one minute or two minutes.

Additionally, you can also adjust the screen timeout duration when the display is connected to a power source. Another display setting that can help extend your MacBook’s battery life is the screen saver. Screen savers, despite being visually appealing, consume battery power as they keep the display running when you are inactive. To change this setting, follow the same steps mentioned above and navigate to “Start Screen Saver when inactive”. From there, select “Never” in the dropdown menu.
