The new E-TRAVELLER is fitted with a 7.4kW onboard charger (with an 11 kW three-phase charger available as an option) and can also be charged at up to 100kW on a DC rapid charger. Estimated charging times are as follows:

  • 100kW DC charger: 45 minutes (recharge from 0 to 80%).
  • 11kW AC charger: full recharge with the 11kW onboard charger in 7 hours 30 minutes.
  • 7.4kW AC charger: full charge with the 7.4kW onboard charger in 11 hours 20 minutes.

 

The latest-generation connectivity

The PEUGEOT i-Connect® system offers comprehensive and highly responsive connectivity thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto. The technological experience is complete with PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced, which is also equipped with TomTom connected navigation. System updates are carried out “over the air”.

A wireless smartphone charger is now located on the center console at the front of the new E-TRAVELLER. The new E-TRAVELLER features two USB-C sockets on the dashboard, two USB-C sockets in the second-row seats, and two 12V sockets.

Using the MYPEUGEOT ® smartphone app, users can benefit from additional features and connected services. This includes access to a virtual maintenance log and the ability to send destinations to the navigation system remotely. Drivers can now also manage the central locking and activate headlights and horns remotely.

To enhance the EV ownership experience, the MYPEUGEOT® app also allows drivers to initiate or schedule thermal pre-conditioning and view, schedule, start, or defer charging remotely.

New Volvo EM90 is electric luxury MPV with 458-mile range

The new Volvo EM90 is an electric MPV that offers a “comfortable living room experience” and boasts a range of over 450 miles. This luxurious vehicle is the third new Volvo to be revealed in the past year, following the EX90 SUV and the EX30 crossover. The EM90 is designed to compete with luxury MPVs such as the Lexus LM and Mercedes V-Class. Targeted primarily at the Chinese market, the EM90 is now available for pre-order and is based on the Zeekr’s 009 MPV, but with its own unique interior and exterior design.

Volvo emphasizes that the EM90 represents the brand’s concept of versatility and highlights the 1953 Duett estate as a spiritual predecessor, despite the MPV segment being a new venture for the company.

The EM90’s exterior was recently showcased in images released by the Chinese Ministry for Information and Technology. Volvo has now unveiled the interior and released official technical specifications, revealing that it is equipped with a 116kWh battery providing a 458-mile range on China’s CLTC testing cycle. It can be charged from 10-80% capacity in under 30 minutes and features a 268bhp motor on the rear axle, enabling the EM90 to accelerate from 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds.

There is no confirmation from Volvo regarding the availability of the Zeekr 009’s twin-motor powertrain for the EM90, which would double the power output and halve the 0-62mph time.

The EM90 prioritizes opulence and rolling refinement, featuring top-notch sound isolation and road noise cancellation technology, dual-chamber air suspension, and what Volvo refers to as ‘silent’ tires. It is launched as a six-seater, with a pair of armchair-style lounge seats in the middle row and a more traditional pair in the rear.

A long heritage of versatility

While the MPV segment is a new venture for Volvo, the concept of versatility is not new. The Volvo Duett, introduced in 1953, was designed as a versatile and spacious car long before the MPV segment existed.

The Duett, celebrating its 70th birthday this year, remains highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. It was popular among families and business owners in Scandinavia and the United States.

In later years, the Duett served as inspiration for Volvo’s range of estates and was an important source of inspiration for the EM90’s designers.

Whether as a practical company car or a spacious family vehicle that doubled as a sleeping space during camping trips, the Duett had a variant for various scenarios – its name, which means ‘two cars in one’, reflects its versatility.

2024 BMW S 1000 XR Receives Minor Updates and Increased Power

If you’re in the market for a sportbike that offers both high performance and long-distance comfort, but don’t necessarily want a full-on M Sport, then the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR might be the bike for you. While it may seem like just one letter difference from the M 1000 XR, the S variant offers its own set of features and upgrades.

BMW continues to refine its S 1000 lineup, including the 2024 S 1000 XR. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from this model.

The Engine

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR is equipped with the same 999cc inline four-cylinder engine found in the S 1000 RR, but with a slight power increase. The official power output is now 170 horsepower at 11,000 rpm, with peak torque of 114 newton-meters (84 pound-feet) at 9,250 rpm. While the torque remains the same as the 2023 model, the 2024 version gains an additional 5 horsepower. BMW has made modifications to the intake channels, and the engine features a bore and stroke of 80mm by 49.7mm, and a compression ratio of 12.5 to one. Top speed is listed as “over 120 mph,” and the engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Chassis

The 2024 S 1000 XR features a bridge-type cast aluminum frame, with the engine acting as a stressed member. Suspension consists of a 45mm upside-down telescopic front fork, an aluminum swingarm, and a monoshock at the rear. The suspension is semi-adjustable electronically through BMW’s Dynamic ESA system, which comes as standard. The bike has a suspension travel of 5.9 inches at both ends. Braking is handled by a pair of four-piston fixed calipers with 320mm discs up front, and a single two-piston floating caliper with a 265mm disc at the rear. ABS is included as standard, and the wheels are 17-inch cast aluminum units.

Dimensions

The wheelbase of the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR measures 60.6 inches. It has a steering head angle of 64.8 degrees and a castor of 4.64 inches. The bike is 84.8 inches long, 33.5 inches wide (without accessories), and 57.5 inches tall (without mirrors). It has a curb weight of 500 pounds and a fuel tank capacity of 5.2 gallons. The stock seat height is 33.5 inches, but BMW offers factory lowering options that can bring it down to 31.1 inches. The seat has been redesigned for the 2024 model, providing an additional 10mm of height at 850mm.

Electronics

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. It features Riding Modes Pro, which includes Hill Start Control Pro, ABS Pro, and dynamic traction control.

Additional Features

The 2024 S 1000 XR has received some redesigned elements and additional standard equipment. The rear of the bike now features new side panels and air intakes, while the beak is body-colored and the radiator trim has a new textured surface. Headlight Pro, which includes adaptive turning lights, is now included as standard. Daytime running lights, keyless ride, a 12 Ah battery, and a USB charging port are also part of the package. In the US, the bike also comes with an emergency call (E-Call) feature as standard.

The 2024 BMW S 1000 XR is available in three color options: Blackstorm Metallic, Gravity Blue Metallic, and Light White/M Motorsport. Pricing and availability vary depending on the region. In the US, the starting price for the 2024 S 1000 XR is $20,345, and it is listed as “available soon” on the official website as of October 26, 2023.
