Audi RS 6 Performance Avant vs Audi R8: Which Wins A Drag Race?

The Audi R8 Performance Spyder is considered one of the best supercars in the world. It boasts immense power, a convertible top, distinctive style, impressive performance, and, perhaps most notably, the unique and rare sound of a V10 engine. However, Audi is no stranger to creating incredible high-performance vehicles, and the upgraded Audi RS 6 Avant Performance is one of them. The Audi RS 6 Performance may appear as a regular station wagon with sporty styling, but it hides even more power under the hood. Its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine produces a whopping 621 horsepower. On the other hand, the R8 Performance derives 612 horsepower from its naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine.

Matching up the supercar with the super wagon in a drag race is sure to yield interesting results. Despite the R8 having slightly less power, its lighter weight and sharper focus on performance could give it an advantage. On the other hand, the RS 6, with its higher power output, might outpace the sleek supercar. Additionally, the RS 6 offers the convenience of back seats and trunk space. It’s worth noting that the R8, with its naturally aspirated engine, doesn’t have to worry about turbo lag.

In the first race, the R8 emerged as the winner, although it was a close call. In the second race, the RS 6 made a better launch and took an early lead but eventually succumbed to the R8 towards the end, resulting in another close second-place finish. The R8 completed the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds, while the RS 6 did it in 11.2 seconds. The races continued in a similar manner, but at the end of the day, even being second is a testament to the remarkable performance of the Audi RS 6 Avant. It can keep up with Audi’s exceptional flagship supercar while offering the convenience of carrying cargo and passengers in the back.

How To Password Protect An Excel File

Microsoft Excel has been one of the go-to spreadsheet apps for several decades, and it’s developed an array of tricks throughout its lifetime, not just for making data entry, editing, and organization easier (though it does that, too) but to give users more ways to better protect the information they’re spreadsheet-ing. This includes adding password protection to your Excel files.

Whether you’re working with extremely sensitive or privileged data, trying to keep contact details out of the wrong hands, or just don’t want anyone else to be able to access your spreadsheets without your express permission, setting up a password for your work is a relative breeze.

The only caveat is you’re on your own if you lose or forget the password. Excel doesn’t have the capacity to retrieve password information, and there’s no “forgot password” option for you to try and replace it with a new one. So if you decide to protect any of your Excel files with one, be sure it’s something you won’t forget or find another way to keep track of it. Once a password has been set up, you must enter it every time you open the protected file.

Password protecting an Excel document

When you choose to add password protection to an Excel document makes little difference — you can make a new one and immediately set up a password or revisit existing documents to add protection well after their creation. This process is the same for both Windows and macOS.

  1. With the Excel file open select File in the top-left corner of the screen, followed by Info.
  2. Select Protect Workbook, then choose Encrypt with Password.
  3. Enter the password you want to use, then select OK.
  4. Re-enter the password to confirm and select OK.
  5. Alternatively, select the Review tab along the top of the document and then choose Protect Workbook (to protect all the worksheets in your current workbook) or Protect Sheet (to protect just one sheet).
  6. Type in the password you want to use and select OK, then re-enter the password when prompted and select OK again to confirm.

You’ll know that your worksheet (or workbook) is protected if the Protect Sheet (or Protect Workbook) icon in the Review tab is highlighted.

Removing password protections from an Excel document

If you decide it’s no longer necessary to protect your Excel spreadsheets with a password, you can remove it, though you will need to re-enter the password you’ve assigned to it first, so make sure you don’t lose or forget it before removing the restriction.

  1. Open the document you want to remove password protection from (you’ll need to enter the password to do so).
  2. Select the Review tab at the top of the page.
  3. For an individual spreadsheet, select Protect Sheet followed by Unprotect Sheet to remove password protections.
  4. For a workbook composed of multiple spreadsheets, select Protect Workbook followed by Unprotect Workbook.
  5. Enter the Workbook password again when prompted and select OK to remove protections.

Remember that, with password protections removed, anyone with access to your Excel file can open, view, and edit it. If you’ve decided a password isn’t necessary anymore, this likely isn’t an issue.

FTC Will Appeal Court Ruling On Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard Acquisition

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced its intention to appeal a court ruling regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The decision to appeal was revealed in a legal document filed with the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California on July 12. The FTC did not provide any additional information about its appeal.

This appeal comes at an unfortunate time as the deal must be completed by its deadline on July 18. If the deadline passes while the legal issues are unresolved, it remains to be seen whether the two companies will reach an agreement to extend it or if either of them will choose to abandon the acquisition altogether.

Microsoft wasted no time in stating that it will challenge the appeal once more information is available from the FTC. Brad Smith, the company’s president, expressed disappointment in the FTC’s decision to pursue a weak case and confirmed Microsoft’s opposition to any further efforts to delay the progress of the acquisition.

Microsoft Introduces AI Hub in the Windows 11 App Store

Microsoft is incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into the Windows Store with the introduction of the AI Hub. While it is uncertain how much value this will bring to the average Windows user, it offers a convenient way to explore and discover AI applications that could be beneficial.

This addition also serves as a platform for Microsoft to promote its own Office suite of productivity apps, which now feature enhanced AI capabilities. Back in March 2023, Microsoft launched Microsoft 365 Copilot, which utilizes AI to enhance Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and other apps. With this tool, Word can generate draft ideas, while PowerPoint can create detailed presentations based on a short text prompt.

Moreover, Microsoft has plans to introduce more AI-driven features to the Windows Store. One such feature, highlighted by the company, is the “AI-Generated Review Summary” that summarizes an app’s description and user reviews, providing users with a quick understanding of what an app offers and whether users are satisfied with it.

Caterham Project V: The Lightweight EV Sports Car We’ve Been Waiting For

If the Caterham Project V makes it to production, it will be the first Caterham car with a conventional roof. The design of this lightweight electric vehicle draws inspiration from the Caterham C120 (which never made it to production) and the Jannarelly Design 1, the brainchild of Caterham’s current chief designer, Anthony Jannarelly. Like other cars in Caterham’s lineup, the Project V is known for its lightweight and simplicity. The goal is to keep the weight of the Project V around 1,190kg (2623 lbs) in the 2+1 configuration, achieved through a carbon fiber and aluminum composite chassis. There will also be an optional 2+2 configuration.

The Project V will be powered by a battery electric powertrain with a 200kW (272PS) single motor in the rear axle. This motor will be accompanied by a 55kWh USOC lithium-ion battery pack with advanced thermal management. With a 150kW DC rapid charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Performance-wise, the Project V boasts impressive acceleration, going from zero to 62mph (100kph) in less than 4.5 seconds. It has an estimated top speed of 143 mph (230 kph) and a target range of approximately 249 miles (400km) according to WLTP standards. The Project V will also feature double wishbone suspension at the front and rear with fully adjustable geometry, electrically assisted power steering, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (19″ at the front and 20″ at the rear), and high-performance brake discs.
