  • The new Jeep Avenger, the brand’s first all-electric SUV, is now also available as an e-Hybrid version. It brings together impressive technical features and capability with respect for the environment, encapsulating the brand’s four values.

The Jeep® brand originated over 80 years ago in challenging times, and its identity is based on the four values of: freedom, adventure, authenticity, and passion. These are universal values that define the Jeep Brand today and guide its path forward.

The new Avenger – the first fully electric Jeep vehicle – aims to epitomize these brand values.

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show a year ago, the new Jeep Avenger combines modernity and legacy, integrating technologies that ensure superior capability without compromising environmental sustainability. Its compact yet spacious design embodies the brand’s essence in an ambitious vehicle developed based on the brand’s seminal values: Freedom, Adventure, Authenticity, and Passion.

To showcase these attributes, the Jeep brand is now sharing a new web series comprising four one-minute video episodes on YouTube. Each episode will focus on one of the brand’s core values and feature authentic and personal stories from four Italian protagonists, taking viewers on a journey to discover what the Jeep brand communicates through its vehicles, aligning with the aspirations and ambitions of those who choose to trust their Jeep SUV.

The first episode takes viewers skyward with Sandro Beni, in search of the meaning of Freedom. As a parachutist, Sandro finds an indescribable sense of freedom in being one with his surroundings and connected to nature. This embodies the freedom that the Jeep brand aims to provide, facilitated by the new Avenger’s environmental focus. Equipped with a 400-volt electric motor and a 54kWh battery, the new 100% electric Avenger combines high performance with zero carbon emissions. To deliver the freedom that drivers desire, the Jeep brand has equipped its first 100% electric SUV with a 100kW fast charger, enabling a minimum distance of 30 km after just three minutes of charging, and a battery recharge of 20% to 80% in just 24 minutes.

The second episode focuses on Adventure and is set in the captivating mountainous surroundings of “Gole della Valserra” in Umbria. It showcases Szilvia Rados as the leading character, a 44-year-old woman who loves to explore the beauty of nature. She describes her understanding of adventure, which can be compared to the feeling of falling in love, accelerating the heartbeat and evoking unique emotions. She demonstrates why her Avenger is an essential travel partner, from its built-in navigation system, including smartphone wireless screen mirroring for map instructions, to its technical capabilities like the “Selec-Terrain®” and “Hill Descent Control” features, making the driving experience safer and more enjoyable, allowing her to access destinations that enrich her life despite harsh conditions, driving along unpaved roads as she handles the canyon’s precipitous lines.

One of the Jeep brand’s most prominent values is unquestionably Authenticity, rooted in a long-standing tradition as the pioneer of the 4×4 SUV. “The beauty of the idea becoming reality,” as Umberto Dattola described it, is illustrated by the designer’s involvement in the third episode of the series. The 53-year-old man gives viewers an exclusive insight into his profession as he takes them on a tour of his workshop, showcasing his dedication to excellence and reverence for nature. He transforms raw materials into something unparalleled and truly remarkable, mirroring the Jeep brand’s commitment to quality and work ethic, as expressed by the designer of the new Avenger, Daniele Calonaci, a co-protagonist in the episode.

Last, and no less significant, viewers meet Francesca Santamaria in Rome, the protagonist of the episode dedicated to Passion. She views passion as “the driving force of everything,” a perspective fully shared by the Jeep brand. En route to the dance hall, Francesca drives the new Avenger smoothly, following her playlist’s rhythm and passion. This demonstrates how the vehicle and its driver can form a deep connection, aiding her in everyday life thanks to the new Avenger’s technology, including the multi-color ambient light, a rear-view camera with drone view, and integrated phone voice assistance through Android Auto and CarPlay, reflecting the smartphone screen on the 10.25-inch Uconnect Infotainment radio screen combined with a full digital cluster. Additionally, the hands-free boot opening is a vital convenience for the young dancer, with the new Jeep Avenger proving to be a great supporter of her passion.

Britain’s Quietest Roads Revealed

  • New research from Jeep UK has revealed Britain’s major roads used by the fewest number of vehicles each day
  • The A844 on the Isle of Bute is Britain’s quietest major road with an average of just 77 vehicles estimated to use it on a daily basis
  • Top 10 features A-roads all located in Scotland across the Highlands, Orkney, Isle of Islay and the Shetland Islands
  • The A4085 in Eryri (Snowdonia) is the quietest major road outside of Scotland
  • The A686 in the North Pennines is the quietest road on mainland England

A list of Britain’s quietest major roads has been revealed, with research showing that some routes are almost entirely traffic-free.

The analysis of road traffic statistics from the Department for Transport1 by Jeep UK found that a section of the A844 on the Isle of Bute in Scotland is Britain’s quietest major road. It is estimated that an average of just 77 vehicles travel the five-mile-long stretch of road between the B881 and B878 junctions each day in both directions – fewer than four vehicles per hour.

The road passes Scalpsie Bay, which is the ideal location to spot seals thanks to the large colony that resides there. Census data shows that the population on Bute is in decline, perhaps explaining why the A844 is now ranked as Britain’s quietest major road.

In comparison, Britain’s busiest road – the M25 motorway surrounding Greater London – typically sees more than 200,000 vehicles per day between certain junctions.

In a close second is the A838 near Lairg in the Scottish Highlands. The road cuts through the centre of the popular North Coast 500 tourist route yet sees an average of just 88 vehicles per day travelling along the 34-mile length of road. Despite its A-road categorisation, it is a single-track road with dedicated passing places, but thanks to good visibility it is still a highly enjoyable road for driving enthusiasts. The road offers breath-taking mountainous views of the northern Highlands and runs parallel to a number of secluded lochs.

Completing the top three is a stretch of the A941 between the villages of Elrick and Rhynie, northeast of the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. An average of just 113 vehicles use this stretch of road each day.

Outside of Scotland, the quietest major road can be found in Wales along a six-mile length of the A4085. With only 318 vehicles estimated to travel the single-carriageway every day, the road is ideal for those seeking a quiet Welsh road set in the country’s infamous Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. The road parallels the Welsh Highland Railway – a heritage line that offers passengers magnificent views of the surrounding mountainous countryside.

In second place is the A3110 on the Isles of Scilly, seeing just 324 vehicles on average per day. With just over 2,000 residents living on the islands, and only a small number of vehicles between them, it is no surprise that the A3110 ranks highly. Rounding off the top three outside of Scotland is the A4069 in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Wales, with 397 vehicles per day.

On mainland England, a short one-mile section of the A686 near the village of Langley takes the top spot with 511 vehicles per day. The whole road, which spans the North Pennines National Park, offers outstanding scenic views of northern England. In second place is the adjoining A689, with the A3078 in Cornwall rounding off the top three.

Kris Cholmondeley, Managing Director at Jeep UK, commented: “At Jeep, we’re all for taking the road less travelled. By shining a light on the most traffic-free roads, we hope Jeep owners will be encouraged to explore some of these more remote and beautiful parts of the country and escape the rush of everyday life.

“With more than 40 million vehicles now on UK roads, most places are more congested than ever, but our research proves it’s still possible to enjoy wonderfully peaceful stretches of road that showcase some the nation’s most picturesque locations.”

The research by Jeep UK was completed as part of its newly launched Compass ‘Any Excuse to Get Lost’ campaign to encourage owners to escape the rush of everyday life by revealing some of the UK’s most scenic and lesser-known locations.

Priced from £34,580 OTR, the Jeep Compass C-SUV is designed for adventurers looking to explore places that are off the beaten track, in keeping the brand’s ‘Go Anywhere, Do Anything’ philosophy.

It is available with two advanced electrified powertrains: the Compass e-Hybrid mild hybrid (MHEV) and Compass 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.3-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and an advanced all-wheel-drive system, blending fuel efficiency with the renowned off-road capabilities of Jeep. It produces a combined power output of 240hp and 270Nm of torque, and is capable of offering up to 30 miles (WLTP) zero-emissions freedom in full-electric mode.

The all-electric Jeep® Avenger is driving the brand’s growth in the highly competitive B-SUV segment in the European market. Customer orders for the European Car of the Year 2023 have now surpassed 40,000 units since its launch at the Paris Auto Show last year.

Driven by Avenger sales in the period between January and August of this year, Jeep Brand sales within the B-SUV segment increased by 33.5% compared with last year, corresponding to an increase of volumes of 60% versus segment industry growth of 12.8%. Over the last three months, the first deliveries of the Jeep Avenger in several more markets have also contributed to the brand’s sales growth in the segment.

The commercial momentum of the Jeep Avenger has been complemented by widespread industry recognition for the brand’s first all-electric SUV. Designed and produced as a Jeep from day one, the Jeep Avenger has already accumulated 10 industry awards, including 2023 European Car of the Year, Best Family SUV in the 2023 Women’s World Car of the Year, and Electric Car of the Year in the Top Gear UK Awards.

Over 40 percent of confirmed customer orders for the Avenger are for the BEV version, a testament to customers’ growing interest in Jeep’s fully-electric offering.

The success of the new Jeep Avenger has also been accompanied by strong sales momentum of the Jeep Renegade, which is keeping pace with the volume achieved last year. More than 32,000 units were registered compared with 31,705 in the same period of 2022.

Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep Brand in Europe, said: “The Jeep Avenger has been designed to perfectly fit the needs of European customers and this is proven by the impressive results that the Avenger is achieving all over Europe. The success of the Jeep Avenger is being compounded by the strong sales momentum of the Jeep Renegade, which is up year over year, showcasing that the two vehicles complement each other by offering two completely different, eco-friendly and compelling product alternatives in the highly competitive B-SUV market.”

The Avenger and Renegade are two complementary vehicles that are driving the Jeep brand’s growth in the B-SUV LEV segment. In Europe, Jeep ranks fifth with a market share in the SUV segment of 10.6% (versus 9.6% last year) while in Italy, the brand is overwhelming the segment with a 49.9% market share.

In Italy, the Renegade is dominating the B-SUV segment with a 7.9% market share compared to 7.5% last year, and this percentage jumps to 11.4% when combined with the 3.5% market share of the Avenger.

Furthermore, the Jeep brand is achieving strong results in Germany, Spain, Poland, and the Netherlands with a double-digit percentage market share.
