Goodbye grey, welcome colours

  • ITALY. THE LAND OF COLOURS. FIAT. THE BRAND OF COLOURS”. Today marks a breakthrough for FIAT as it stops producing grey cars and ushers in a brand-new, colourful world.
  • FIAT is the first automotive maker to make this revolutionary decision, starting with the new Fiat 600e.
  • From now on, the colours in the present and future FIAT lineup are inspired by the Italian Sea, Sun, Earth, and Sky.
  • Grey is the most popular colour for new cars in the UK.
  • Mobility is about to become more colourful and cheerful than ever: FIAT is embracing a real challenge, as shown in the dedicated video available here.

Starting today, FIAT will no longer produce grey cars. This decision was made to emphasize the importance of colours in life, embody the Italian way of living, and reaffirm the brand’s new Dolce Vita value.

Italy is closely associated with vibrant colours such as the Sea of Italy, the Sun of Italy, the Earth of Italy, and the Sky of Italy; landscapes that provide FIAT with ample inspiration for its cars. This strategy has been implemented to give FIAT cars a distinctive feature in the automotive market, as 2023 is a year of significant change for the brand.

“We broke the rules: we decided to stop the production of grey FIAT cars. This is a challenging and disruptive move aimed at further reinforcing FIAT’s leadership as the brand of joy, colours, and optimism. Italy is the country of colours and, starting today, FIAT’s cars will be too” declared Olivier Francois, FIAT Chief Executive Officer and Global Chief Marketing Officer at Stellantis. “This choice further communicates the New Dolce Vita values and the Italian DNA embodied by the brand. FIAT wants to inspire people to live with optimism and positivity, and this will also be one of the missions of the new Fiat 600e, the electric car for families and friends, which will be presented on July 4th.”

In the new dedicated video, viewers can discover FIAT’s brand-new colourful world as the brand’s CEO, Olivier Francois, aboard the new Fiat 600e, takes a deep dive into colour under the claim “ITALY. THE LAND OF COLOURS. FIAT. THE BRAND OF COLOURS.”

The current FIAT range – New 500, 500 Hybrid, 500X, Panda, and Tipo – is available in different shades of colours, including Gelato white, Sicilia orange, Paprika orange, Passione red, Blu Dipinto di Blu, Italia blue, Venezia blue, Rugiada green, Foresta green, Rose gold, and Cinema black. All of these colours have evocative names that remind us of Italy’s beautiful landscapes and the Dolce Vita mood.

Grey is the most popular colour for new cars in the UK, according to official registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), representing more than one in four new cars sold in the UK in 2022.

Infiniti Unveils Updated Logo, Scent, and Sound to Refresh Brand Image

Today, Infiniti made an announcement regarding the update of its brand identity. The luxury automaker has introduced a refreshed logo and badge, as well as a new retail experience.

The new Infiniti logo is not a drastic departure from the current design, and the changes made are subtle. This marks the fourth iteration of the logo since the company’s establishment in 1989. The logo symbolizes an infinite road leading towards the horizon, and the updated emblem further accentuates this concept. The bottom opening of the logo is now wider, which narrows the outline of the road. The road no longer terminates at a point, which places greater emphasis on the horizon.

BMW Motorrad celebrates one millionth GS with boxer engine.

BMW Motorrad is celebrating a major milestone as they have produced their one millionth GS model equipped with a boxer engine. The milestone bike is a BMW R 1250 GS and it rolled off the production line at the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin-Spandau on June 21, 2023. BMW has been manufacturing motorcycles in Berlin since 1969, and they have been producing GS models with boxer engines since 1980. These motorcycles have become iconic and have been embraced by motorbike enthusiasts for their exceptional qualities in various riding conditions, including long-distance touring, off-roading, and everyday riding. To mark this achievement, BMW will be unveiling the latest edition of the BMW GS with a boxer engine, the R 1300 GS, on September 28, 2023, during the grand opening of the new BMW Motorrad Welt in Berlin. The BMW GS with a boxer engine is known for its combination of road, off-road, and long-haul performance. Dr. Markus Schramm, Head of BMW Motorrad, explained that the GS models with boxer engines have become a legend and a cornerstone of the BMW Motorrad lineup. He also expressed his excitement about the upcoming new R 1300 GS and its contribution to the BMW Motorrad’s history. The one millionth BMW GS with a boxer engine, an R 1250 GS in Triple Black Style, was celebrated during a works meeting at the BMW Motorrad plant. Furthermore, as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of BMW Motorrad, the new BMW R 1300 GS will be presented at the opening ceremony of BMW Motorrad Welt on September 28, and the event can be followed through a livestream. The R 80 G/S, introduced in 1980, is considered the initial spark that created the touring enduro motorcycle segment. Over the years, BMW Motorrad has continuously improved and developed the GS models with boxer engines, incorporating advanced technology and features like ABS, traction control, and semi-active suspension. As a result, the GS models have become highly sought-after touring enduros worldwide. Aehra Sedan Concept Previews Potential Rival to Porsche Taycan in 2026

Aehra, an Italian EV startup that specializes in ultra-premium electric cars, has unveiled the exterior design of its upcoming second model, the Sedan. The concept version of the Aehra Sedan was showcased at the Milano Monza Motor Show. This sedan is built on the same electric vehicle platform as the Aehra SUV, which was introduced last year. Both models were developed in parallel, and the resemblance is apparent when comparing them side by side.

The Aehra Sedan shares the same design language and body treatment as the Aehra SUV, but it has a lower stance with distinctive front and rear ends. Notable features include a sleek side profile with a smooth uninterrupted line and hidden door handles, an aggressive front end with stylish headlights and an aerodynamic sculpted bumper that incorporates active cooling elements, and a tapered rear end with sharp LED taillights. The upward-opening double-falcon doors and the aerodynamically optimized digital side mirrors are also eye-catching highlights.

While Aehra has kept the interior of the Sedan under wraps for now, it is expected to be similar to the high-tech cabin of the SUV. The SUV’s interior boasts a wide retractable screen that spans the width of the windshield and partially retracts into the dashboard.

Volkswagen Arteon Is No Longer Available as Volkswagen Implements New Profitability Plan

Volkswagen is implementing a new plan to increase profitability, which unfortunately includes discontinuing certain lower-volume models like the Arteon.

The specific details regarding other low-selling models that will be affected were not disclosed, but the company specifically mentioned the Arteon. The decision to discontinue the Arteon is not surprising, considering that its sales have seen a significant decline of almost 69% in 2022, with only 1,742 units sold in the US. This is a negligible number compared to Volkswagen’s total sales of over 301,000 vehicles in the same period. Although there was a notable increase in Arteon sales during the first quarter of 2023, with over 1,000% growth, this was based on a relatively small number of units sold, just 528.
