Premium Design And Styling

Skoda sub-4m SUV design sketch teaser

Based on the primary design sketch teaser that Skoda shared of its upcoming sub-4m SUV, we predict its fascia to have premium styling and butch design touches just like the Kushaq. So, count on it to have a split-headlight setup and the butterfly sample for the grille as seen on fashionable Skoda choices.

Shared Platform

Skoda MQB-A0-IN platform

Skoda will likely be utilising the Kushaq’s MQB-A0-IN platform for creating its Tata Nexon-rivalling SUV. However, will probably be tailor-made to stick to the sub-4m phase guidelines.

For reference, the identical platform additionally underpins the Skoda Slavia sedan and the Volkswagen twins of the SUV and sedan, particularly the Taigun and Virtus.

However, it’s too early to inform if Skoda will begin providing ADAS tech for its India lineup.

Skoda Kushaq Global NCAP

Another necessary issue of the Kushaq’s security parameter is its Global NCAP rating of 5 stars. Since the brand new SUV will even be primarily based on the identical platform, we anticipate it can supply comparable ranges of occupant safety as effectively.

The Smaller Powertrain

Skoda Kushaq's 1-litre turbo-petrol engine

While the Kushaq comes with a alternative of two turbo-petrol engines (1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol), Skoda is prone to supply the smaller powertrain on its new SUV. Lamborghini Huracan Successor Plays Engine Soundtrack In First Spy Video

Lamborghini is set to electrify its lineup with the successor to the Huracan, which will feature a hybrid setup similar to the Revuelto model. However, there is some uncertainty around the powertrain that will be used in the upcoming Huracan replacement. A recent spy video captures the exhaust note of the coupe, but it’s difficult to determine the exact type of engine responsible for the noise.

Last year, Lamborghini CEO Rouven Mohr mentioned that the Huracan’s successor would have between 6 and 12 cylinders. However, a later report suggested that the automaker might depart from the current car’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine and opt for a twin-turbocharged V8, similar to the one used in the Urus. The noise in the video is too loud to ascertain whether the test vehicle has 8 or 10 cylinders, but it does have a distinct raspy and guttural burble.

As per our last spy shot, the 5-door Thar appears to be nearly production-ready. It will have a similar design language to the three-door version inside and out, save for the two more doors. Two important additions will be a full metal hard top and an electric sunroof. Other features expected are a 7-inch touchscreen system, cruise control, auto AC, six airbags, and a rear camera.

The more practical Thar will be propelled by the same 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines as the 3-door Thar, possibly in a higher state of tune. 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions will also be offered with both the engines. Just like the 3-door, we’re expecting the 5-door version with rear-wheel- and four-wheel drivetrains.

The 5-door Thar is likely to retail from around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), serving as a bigger and more premium option to the Maruti Jimny.
