New 2023 Peugeot 508 facelift priced from £34,020 in the UK

The recently launched Peugeot 508 has been made available for purchase in the UK, featuring a fresh design update and updated powertrain options, starting at a price of £34,020.

The latest version of the 508 introduces an updated version of Peugeot’s distinctive sabre-tooth lighting system, featuring a three-spoke “claw” design.

A new grille, reminiscent of the Peugeot 408, completes the front-end design update, showcasing gloss and textured black elements, as well as the new Peugeot emblem.

This extensive design overhaul aims to prolong the lifespan of the R83-generation model, which was first introduced in 2018.

Both the saloon and SW estate variants of the 508 have a width of 1.86m. The saloon has a length of 4.75m, while the estate measures 4.79m. The saloon offers a luggage capacity of 487 litres, which can be expanded to 1537 litres with the rear seats folded. The estate, on the other hand, provides 530 litres of space, expandable to 1780 litres.

New Peugeot 508 interior

The interior of the 508 is equipped with many of the advanced technologies found throughout the Peugeot lineup. It boasts a redesigned dashboard and centre console, as well as a 10.0in central infotainment display combined with Peugeot’s 12.0in i-Cockpit system and a compact steering wheel.

In addition to features like voice recognition, sat-nav, a motorised boot, two USB sockets, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 508 also benefits from a night vision camera capable of detecting cyclists, animals, and pedestrians.

The 508 is loaded with a wide range of assistance features, including level two semi-autonomous capability, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane assist, parking sensors, a reversing camera, and automatic high beam.

The 508’s lineup has been streamlined to three options – the entry-level Allure, GT, and performance-focused Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE) – available with petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

Peugeot’s entry-level option, also found in the smaller 308 and 408 models, offers a three-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol PureTech engine producing 130bhp. Additionally, a 130bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine is also available.

The first UK customer managed to purchase their My Ami Buggy II in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds, with ten units sold in the first 4 minutes.

Following the public’s enthusiasm for the My Ami Buggy last year, which sold out in France in 17 minutes and 28 seconds, Citroën decided to create a limited run of 40 units for the UK market.

The My Ami Buggy features an adventurous design, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with fun accessories like the Khaki exterior color, black protective elements, reinforced bumpers, skid plates, headlamp surrounds, wheel arch extensions, and a rear spoiler for a muscular appearance.

The My Ami Buggy II is part of the Ami range and is based on the Citroën Ami 100% Electric, which is a sustainable mobility solution aimed at addressing environmental challenges in cities. The Ami range also includes the My Ami Cargo model, which has a payload capacity of up to 140kg, a maximum load capacity of 400 liters, and a tight 7.20m turning circle.

Like all Ami models, the My Ami Buggy emits zero emissions during use and has a 5.4kWh battery that can be fully charged in four hours. It has a range of up to 46 miles and a top speed of 28mph, making it an affordable and clean mobility solution offered by Citroën.

New Mercedes E-Class Estate offers more space and digital apps

Mercedes is set to release the new E-Class Estate this autumn, featuring increased rear passenger space, enhanced technology, and a range of third-party apps. The new model will be sold alongside the Mercedes E-Class Saloon, which was unveiled earlier this year. Compared to its predecessor, the E-Class Estate is 28mm wider and has a 22mm longer wheelbase of 2961mm.

One of the standout features of the E-Class Estate is its spaciousness. With 615 litres of cargo space, it falls just short of the Volvo V90’s 650 litres and surpasses the Audi A6 Avant’s 586 litres. Folding down the seats allows for a maximum storage capacity of 1830 litres. The plug-in hybrid models offer 460 litres of boot space, which expands to 1675 litres when the seats are folded due to the battery placement.

In terms of design, the E-Class Estate has received a refresh, featuring gloss black elements inspired by the all-electric EQS model range. The new model also boasts a sleeker roofline and a black panel that stretches from the radiator to the headlights.

Continuing the technology-focused approach, Mercedes has equipped the E-Class Estate with the latest generation of its MBUX infotainment system. This system includes features such as augmented reality, voice assistant, and online music streaming. In addition, a suite of digital apps like TikTok, Angry Birds, and Zoom is available. An AI system is present as well, learning the driver’s habits and suggesting relevant functions.

As for autonomous capabilities, the E-Class Estate offers level-four driverless tech with an optional driverless valet parking function, previously exclusive to the S-Class. This feature will be available in markets like Germany, where it is permitted by law.

The new E-Class Estate will initially offer a range of longitudinally mounted four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all with 48V mild-hybrid electrification. The power outputs range from 194bhp to 375bhp, and all engines come with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard. Furthermore, a plug-in hybrid variant will be available, featuring a 24.1kWh battery that offers up to 62 miles of electric-only range.

For improved ride comfort, the estate comes with single-chamber air suspension at the rear as standard, with the option to upgrade to the Airmatic system with adjustable damping. The E-Class Estate has a towing capacity of up to 2.1 tonnes.

BYD Dolphin Offers 265 Miles of Range for £26,000 in Europe

Chinese car manufacturer BYD has released the pricing details for its new compact car, the BYD Dolphin, which will be available for purchase in the UK later this year.

The base model of the BYD Dolphin will start at €29,990 in mainland Europe, which roughly translates to £26,000 in the UK. The car will be offered in four different trim levels: Active, Boost, Comfort, and Design.

The Active and Boost trims come equipped with a 44.9kWh battery. The Active model offers 93bhp with a range of around 211 miles, while the Boost model provides a performance upgrade to 178bhp but sacrifices range, offering 188 miles.

The Comfort and range-topping Design models feature a larger 60.4kWh battery, providing a range of 265 miles. These models also come with a more powerful 201bhp electric motor and 228lb ft of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in approximately 7.0 seconds.

The BYD Dolphin can charge at speeds of up to 88kW in its highest specification, allowing the battery to reach 80% capacity in about 29 minutes. The car also offers four driving modes: Sport, Normal, Economy, and Snow.

Standard equipment includes a rotating 12.3-inch touchscreen, a heat pump, and a suite of safety features such as emergency braking, traffic alerts, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera. The Comfort model adds additional features such as a panoramic sunroof, a vehicle-to-load power strip, rear privacy glass, and wireless phone charging. The starting price for the Comfort model is €37,690 (£32,387).

The BYD Dolphin will be available in a variety of exterior finishes, including optional dual-tone paint and a panoramic glass roof. BYD aims to position itself as a semi-premium brand, competing with companies like Kia and Hyundai. The car has a length of 4290mm, placing it between the Peugeot e-208 and Volkswagen ID3 in terms of size. It is based on the same e-Platform 3.0 as the BYD Atto 3 family hatchback, which was launched in the UK earlier this year.

Exclusive: Facelifted Tata Safari Spied With New 19-inch Wheels

It is expected to go on sale sometime in early 2024

2024 Tata Safari spied

  • New spy shots show two test mules of the facelifted SUV.

  • One had the same 18-inch wheels as the existing model while the other got new 19-inch units.

  • To get slimmer LED lighting and dynamic turn indicators like most modern cars.

  • Existing model already gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen and ADAS, which are likely to be carried forward onto the facelifted SUV.

  • To get both new turbo-petrol (1.5-litre TGDI) and existing diesel engines.

  • Prices are expected to start from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

We have already seen umpteen spy shots of the facelifted Tata Safari. Once again, two test mules of the updated SUV were spotted draped in heavy camouflage with a couple of new details to be noticed.

New Spy Shot Details

In the new spy images, we can see one test mule sporting the same 18-inch wheels as the current model, while the other facelifted Safari revealed a fresh, intricate 5-spoke design for its wheels. While the currently offered Safari comes with 18-inch units, the facelifted model will get 19-inch wheels (a first for the nameplate) as seen in the new spy shots.

Previously Seen Revisions

As hinted by earlier spy shots, the facelifted SUV will come with vertically housed LED headlights and connected LED DRLs. Its profile isn’t expected to get many updates aside from the new alloy wheel design but at the back, you will get to see slimmer, connected LED lights and refreshed bumper. It will also be equipped with dynamic turn indicators like newer cars.

Cabin And Feature Updates

Tata Safari cabin

As the Safari was recently given a couple of updates on the inside, we expect it to carry them forward onto the facelifted version. These include the recently added 10.25-inch touchscreen and 7-inch digital driver’s display. Tata has frequently updated the Safari with multiple new features to bring it up against the competition like the Mahindra XUV700. That said, you can expect some more headlining features to be added with this midlife update.

Its other features will likely include a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats. The updated Safari’s safety net should include up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

What Will It Get Under The Hood?

Tata Safari engine

The facelifted Tata Safari will mostly come with the same 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata will also offer it with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (170PS/280Nm), which was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Launch Timeline

We believe Tata might launch the facelifted Safari sometime early next year, and its prices could kick off from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue its rivalry with the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector Plus.

Kia Seltos Facelift Spotted Uncovered; 5 Key Observations

The updated version of the compact SUV will be available for purchase in July

The facelifted Kia Seltos has been spotted without any camouflage for the first time. The compact SUV was introduced in 2019 and this will be its first major update since its launch. It is expected to be available for purchase in July. So, here are the five main things that we noticed in the facelifted version:

New Front Profile

Kia Seltos 2023

The new Seltos will feature a refreshed front profile, starting with a new and larger grille. It will have new LED headlights and sleeker daytime running lights (DRLs), integrated into the grille. The redesigned bumper appears busier and more aggressive. The fog lamps, styled like stacked ice cubes, have been retained but their housing has been redesigned along with the bumper.

No Changes To The Side Profile

Kia Seltos 2023

The side profile remains largely unchanged, except for some modifications to the door cladding. Surprisingly, the alloy wheels are the same as those seen on the X-Line variants. This particular model appears to be a higher-end variant, as indicated by the presence of chrome door handles.

More Stylish Rear Profile

Kia Seltos 2023

The changes to the rear profile are more significant compared to the front. The boot shape has been modified to give it a more aggressive appearance. The facelifted model will feature new LED tail lamps connected by a illuminated strip. The redesigned bumpers will now house the reverse lights as well. The dual faux exhausts are now more prominent than in the current version, contributing to the sportier look.

ADAS!

We already knew that it would be equipped with radar-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology, and the latest spy shot confirms this. The vehicle seen in the picture is a production-ready model featuring a rectangular-shaped radar on the front bumper. It will be the second compact SUV to offer this safety feature, following the MG Astor. The ADAS suite is expected to include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist.

Refreshed Interior

Kia Seltos Gets A Facelift On Its Home Ground With A New Tiger Nose Grille

The spy shots only offer a glimpse of the interior. The facelifted model is expected to feature a refreshed interior design with a new layout similar to the international model. The global-spec model boasts a new dual-layer, all-black theme with new switches and dual-integrated 10.25-inch displays, including a digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system.

In terms of powertrains, it is likely to continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The discontinued 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine will be replaced by a new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. All engine options will be available with an automatic transmission, as before.

Maruti Invicto Is The New MPV Based On Toyota Innova Hycross

The carmaker’s newest flagship offering is to be unveiled on July 5 and might go on sale on the same day

Maruti Invicto teaser

  • The Invicto will be placed at the top of Maruti’s MPV lineup.

  • It will feature a new design that includes tri-piece LED lighting and a fresh grille.

  • Maruti might provide the interior with a new theme in contrast to the tan color scheme of the Toyota MPV.

  • Premium features will include a panoramic sunroof, 10-inch touchscreen, and ADAS.

  • The same petrol and strong-hybrid petrol engines from the Innova Hycross will be offered.

  • The Invicto is likely to be priced from Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom).

Earlier rumored to be named Maruti Engage, the Toyota Innova Hycross-based MPV is officially named Invicto, and will become Maruti’s new flagship offering. The new Maruti Invicto MPV will debut on July 5, and the company is expected to launch the vehicle on the same day.

What Will It Look Like?

The Maruti Invicto will mostly resemble Toyota Innova Hycross, while recent undisguised spy shots confirm that it will have some brand-specific changes to distinguish it from the Toyota model. These changes include tri-piece LED headlights and taillights, a new grille design with two chrome strips connecting the headlights, and a fresh set of alloy wheels.

The Invicto’s dashboard layout will be identical to the Toyota model, but it will most probably have a new cabin appearance.

Features Equipped In The Maruti MPV

Toyota Innova Hycross panoramic sunroof

The Invicto is expected to have an identical features list as that of the Toyota Innova Hycross. Premium equipment that comes with the model includes a 10-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a digital driver’s display, and a powered tailgate. It’s designed with up to six airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), front and rear parking sensors, and will be the first Maruti to provide advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for passenger safety.

A Choice Of Two Petrol Powertrains

Toyota Innova Hycross strong-hybrid powertrain

The Maruti Invicto will have the same powertrain options as the Toyota Innova Hycross. The MPV will come with a standard 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (174PS/205Nm), mated to a CVT automatic. The model does not feature any manual options. The Toyota MPV has a strong-hybrid powertrain possibility, utilizing a combination of a 186PS 2-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, paired with an e-CVT, to have a claimed efficiency of over 21 kmpl.

What Will Be The Cost?

The Invicto is expected to be priced from Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). Its only direct contender will be the Toyota Innova Hycross, and it will be positioned between the Kia Carens and Carnival.

  • UK customer deliveries from first quarter of 2024

On the day that the all-new EX30 is revealed to the world, Volvo Cars is pleased to announce UK specifications and pricing for the fully electric small SUV. The new model goes on sale today and the first cars will be with UK customers in the first quarter of 2024.

The EX30 might be the smallest Volvo SUV yet, but its urban-friendly exterior dimensions belie a roomy and comfortable interior with plenty of smart storage space. Equally, it has a big role to play as a key model in Volvo Cars’ electrification strategy and growth ambitions.

Beyond having an electric powertrain and being constructed on a new pure-EV platform, the EX30 has been developed with a focus on achieving a smaller carbon footprint than any previous Volvo car. Its cleaner profile is not limited to zero tailpipe emissions: it also takes in greater use of recycled materials in the car’s construction and close scrutiny on reducing lifecycle carbon emissions, from materials sourcing to supply chain operations, manufacturing processes and end-of-life disposal.

Kristian Elvefors, Volvo Car UK Managing Director, said: “The EX30 has huge potential for expanding the reach and performance of our brand in the UK. It brings together our established strengths in electrification, safety and design without compromise in a convenient, compact package. With an authentic approach to improving sustainability and lowering carbon emissions, it will have strong appeal to urban consumers looking for an efficient electric car that’s easy to live with. Together with our retail partners, we are excited to bring fresh thinking and a genuinely new proposition to the market for small SUVs.”

The UK model range

The EX30 range in the UK will come with three different powertrain options: a Single Motor version with 272hp and a 51kWh battery; a Single Motor Extended Range with 272hp and a 69kWh battery; and a Twin Motor Performance with 428hp and a 69kWh battery.

On-the-road prices are from £33,795 for the Single Motor versions, £38,545 for Single Motor Extended Range cars, and £40,995 for the Twin Motor Performance models.

Pre-homologation performance figures indicate a potential driving range of up to 298 miles on a single battery charge, with power consumption of up to 4.0 miles/kWh. Battery charging will be quick and convenient, with 10 to 80% charging in as little as 26 minutes. The EX30 also promises rapid acceleration, with the Twin Motor Performance version expected to accomplish 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds – making it the fastest-accelerating Volvo car ever.

Customers can choose from five exterior paintwork colours and a series of interior treatments, classed as ‘rooms’ – each with its own ambience and character created through different textures, colours and finishes, using a range of sustainable and recycled materials.

Plus and Ultra equipment grades

The initial UK model range consists of two equipment grades, Plus and Ultra. Both reflect the priorities of today’s customers for seamless connectivity, digital integration and intuitive functionality, together with high levels of safety, comfort and convenience. An additional entry-level Core grade will be added at a later date, at a lower price point.

The Plus versions come as standard with a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with built-in Google functions and wireless smartphone integration using Apple CarPlay. There’s also a Harman Kardon premium audio system, featuring a new soundbar that extends across the width of the dashboard. The two-zone climate control set-up has an air-purification system and uses an energy-saving heat pump*, while the heated front seats and steering wheel help contribute to quick and efficient warming. A rear camera and front and rear parking sensors help the driver safely manoeuvre tight spaces, and Pilot Assist provides adaptive cruise control with steering assistance to help keep the car safely within its lane. There’s also an 11kW on-board charger and the peace of mind of a three-year/60,000-mile care package that covers the car’s standard servicing schedule, plus wear-and-tear consumables.

Building on this specification, the EX30 Ultra models provide higher levels of driver-assistance with a 360-degree camera with virtual 3D view and Volvo’s Park Pilot Assist automatic parking system. Other features include a fixed panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, dark-tinted rear windows and a more powerful, 22kW on-board charger.

Safety leadership

Safety is synonymous with the Volvo brand, and the EX30 small SUV benefits from new technology to give extra protection to everyone on board – and other road users. It introduces Safe Space Technology, which specifically addresses the kind of accident risks familiar in urban areas.

This equips the car with front and rear Cross Traffic Alert with brake support, which detects and warns the driver of other vehicles approaching unexpectedly and applies automatic braking if there’s an imminent collision risk. There is also Door Opening Alert, which gives visual and audible warnings to help guard against a door being opened into the path of a cyclist or other road user approaching from the rear.

Citroën has revealed a new version of My Ami Buggy, which will go on sale in the UK on 20 June at 2.00pm.  Based on the Citroën Ami 100% ëlectric quadricycle, 1,000 examples will be sold worldwide, with just 40 available to UK buyers. My Ami Buggy will be priced at £10,495 OTR.

The previous ‘Ultra-Limited Series’ My Ami Buggy, which was available in France last year, sold out all 50 units in under 18 minutes.

My Ami Buggy emits zero emissions in use and has a 5.4kWh battery that charges in four hours. With a range of up to 46 miles (WMTC**), and a top speed of 28mph, it is a modern solution that delivers on Citroën’s promise to provide affordable and clean mobility solutions for all.

My Ami Buggy features an adventurous spirit, trim for the great outdoors and fun accessories, such as the Khaki exterior colour, and black protective elements including reinforced bumpers, skid plates, headlamp surrounds, wheel arch extensions, and a rear spoiler – all of which combine to give a muscular appearance.

Yellow accents feature across the exterior and throughout the interior, demonstrating My Ami Buggy’s vitality and fun nature. Yellow flashes are embossed on the front panel, with yellow arrows on the wheel arches. Interior storage bins, door opening straps, bag hooks, and the carpet and seat stitching, also feature yellow accents. The new instrument cluster boats a rounded cover for a retro feel.

My Ami Buggy does not have traditional doors or a conventional sunroof. Instead, the driver and passenger can enjoy their leisure time and feel as close to nature as possible with a real sense of freedom. Removable plastic covers and a black waterproof fabric roof have been designed to protect occupants from the wind, cold and rain. When not required, the roof and door covers can be simply and easily rolled back, and secured with snap buttons, or they can be removed entirely.

The door and roof frames have been designed to integrate storage space for the roof and plastic weather protection – while also enhancing the style of My Ami Buggy. At the front, the roof frame has been extended to integrate a sun visor

The new My Ami Buggy also features an element from the acid yellow luggage range that was unveiled in December 2021 with the original My Ami Buggy concept. The yellow bag fits into the centre of the steering wheel and is held in place with clip-on straps – this provides a convenient storage space for personal belongings when on the move.

My Ami Buggy is also available with the Ultimate Ears Boom lightweight Bluetooth® speaker that fits into a specifically design space on the dashboard. The speaker is waterproof and sturdy with a 15-hour battery life for all your adventures in My Ami Buggy.

Greg Taylor, Managing Director at Citroën UK, said: “Following the fantastic success of the My Ami Buggy ‘Ultra-Limited Series’ in France in 2022, with all 50 units selling out in less than 18 minutes – and with the fastest customer completing the purchase of their My Ami Buggy in 2 minutes and 53 seconds – I am delighted that UK customers will also have the opportunity to buy a My Ami Buggy. Ami 100% ëlectric, My Ami Cargo, and My Ami Buggy are revolutionising urban mobility, with over 35,000 units sold worldwide to date. The growing line-up demonstrates our commitment to offering affordable electric mobility for all, and we’re doing so in the fun and innovative way that only Citroën can.”

My Ami Buggy goes on sale in the UK at 2.00pm on 20 June, exclusively at https://www.citroen.co.uk/ami

Electric power offers smooth and dynamic driving around town, and it can be charged in just 4 hours. Ami was created to be used by as many people as possible and by drivers of all ages.
