Strong Safety Score!

Mahindra Scorpio N Global NCAP

In December 2022, Mahindra Scorpio N received a full 5-star safety rating in the global NCAP crash tests. The SUV received five stars for adult occupants’ protection and three stars for child occupants’ protection. The footwell area and bodyshell was rated stable and capable of withstanding further loadings. Since the Scorpio N was tested as per the updated crash test protocols, it also passed the side barrier impact, side pole impact, and ESC tests.

No Feature Upgrades

Mahindra Scorpio N

Given how well-equipped it is, there is no surprise that the Scorpio N has received no feature upgrade. It continues with an electric sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, and 6-way powered driver’s seat.

Safety is covered by front and rear cameras, up to six airbags, hill-assist control, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ESC (electronic stability control).

Waiting Period

Mahindra Scorpio N

The Mahindra Scorpio N still commands a waiting time of up to a year in several cities. The SUV maker has confirmed that it will soon increase its production capacity over the coming months, which will subsequently reduce its waiting period. However, on an average, a Scorpio N buyer will have to wait around six months or more.

Minor Recall

Mahindra Scorpio N

In November 2022, Mahindra recalled certain batches of the Scorpio N and XUV700. The reason was due to a suspected defective rubber bellow inside the clutch bell housing of the manual variants. This would have resulted in performance concerns. Around 6,618 units of the Scorpio N were suspected of the flaw, which Mahindra replaced free of cost.

Faux Controversy

Mahindra Scorpio N Waterfall

There was a video which went viral, showing a Scorpio N owner parking his SUV under a waterfall. The video showed that the water was leaking through the sunroof, which raised several questions about the fit and finish.

Future Changes

Mahindra Scorpio N

The Scorpio N is still a relatively newer model and is unlikely to get any upgrades anytime soon. However, when it is upgraded, we can expect the inclusion of radar-based ADAS technology. It might be updated to offer six airbags as standard when the new mandate comes into effect later this year. In terms of pricing as well, we expect the Scorpio N to get dearer come 2024.

Future Toyota Vehicles Could Incorporate AI in Design Process

In 2023, artificial intelligence has become a widely discussed topic, with many industries exploring the potential of machine learning technologies for problem-solving. The automotive industry is no exception, as numerous companies have already integrated AI into various tasks within their research and development divisions. Toyota is now joining this trend by announcing its research on AI-based car design, leveraging its generative artificial intelligence technique developed by the Toyota Research Institute (TRI).

For those concerned, rest assured that your next Tacoma truck will not have an entirely AI-designed exterior. Instead, Toyota aims to utilize this technology during the early stages of the design process, where multiple iterations of a project are necessary for engineering considerations. In other words, if the automaker decides to create a new large two-door coupe, it can request AI to generate a range of initial designs based on specific parameters. The rendering displayed at the top of this article serves as an example, as it was created by artificial intelligence.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Transforms into an Extended and Lifted Overlanding Truck

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class hasn’t been a popular choice for overlanding camper equipment, until now. Pit26 Motorsports, a distributor of suspension and performance parts for the G-Class in the US, has recognized the great potential of the boxy SUV and created an overlanding machine based on the range-topping AMG G63 version.

This particular vehicle, built for a client with a passion for outdoor living and exploring, takes the form of a pickup truck with extra space for overlanding gear. The wheelbase has been extended by nearly 20 inches, and the suspension with portal axles has been lifted by about 5.9 inches.

The 10 Oldest Aircraft That Are Still In Service Today

Despite the availability of newer aircraft models, there are still some airlines that choose to keep their older planes in service. One example is Nolinor Aviation, a carrier based in Canada.

Nolinor Aviation specializes in chartered flights and has the capability to transport passengers and cargo, including petroleum, to various destinations in North America and Europe. They often fly to remote and challenging locations, particularly in the northern parts of Canada. This is where their old Boeing 737-200 planes come in handy.

Currently, Nolinor Aviation operates the two oldest 737-200 airframes still in use. These planes were produced in 1974 and 1975. As long as it remains a practical and cost-effective option for the carrier, there is no immediate plan to replace these aircraft.

Opulent Mercedes Arocs 8×6 Motorhome Can Take You Anywhere In Full Comfort

The Mercedes Arocs, introduced in 2013 as a heavy-duty truck, may not be as sleek as the new Mercedes SL, but it offers powerful diesel engines with up to 625 horsepower and 2,200 pound-feet of torque. Typically used in the construction sector, the Arocs has now found an unexpected application as a luxurious motorhome.

The SOD Peak 8×6, showcased in the gallery below, is a motorhome conversion based on the four-axle Arocs model. Built by Stone Offroad Design, a German RV company located near Munich, this motorhome is both opulent and impressive. Stone Offroad Design describes it as offering “sophisticated, robust technology, remarkable performance, and absolute comfort for driver and passengers.”

VW Explores Unique Versions of the Bulli, Including a Bus with Tracks

The Volkswagen Bus holds a significant place in the history of the company. It gained immense popularity and became an iconic vehicle for millions of people. In a new video, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ vintage division in Germany takes us on a journey through the model’s legacy. The video showcases some of the noteworthy models produced by the company.

One of the most fascinating VW Bulli variants featured in the video is a special 1968 T1 Kombi. This particular vehicle was equipped with half-tracks, making it truly unique. When it arrived at the facility, it was disassembled and came in three or four separate boxes containing individual parts. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the bus underwent a conversion that added two extra axles, with tracks wrapped around the rear two. This transformed the bus into a formidable off-road monster, primarily used in mountainous regions of Austria. It’s important to note that only the rear axle is powered, while the front two axles are used for steering.

The C40 Recharge can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

Hyundai Ioniq 7: A New Seven-Passenger SUV with Interesting Details

In North America, three-row passenger SUVs are a hot commodity. As one of the most sought-after segments behind pickup trucks, almost every manufacturer either sells such a vehicle today or is actively working on one. Hyundai’s Palisade is its current offering, but it will soon be joined by an all-electric Ioniq 7.

The Ioniq 7 is based on the Kia EV9, which also benefits from the enlarged E-GMP platform. It will be the third-row crossover that anchors the Korean automaker’s electric SUV lineup. From its spy photos, it bears a strong resemblance to its Kia cousin and the renderings we saw last year. The body and roofline are similar to those of the EV9, but the front and rear fascias are concealed, indicating a different design.
