How To Leave A Group Chat On iPhone

Group chats can be a useful tool for making plans with several people at a time, organizing events, and keeping family members in the loop in one central place. It gives you and those who are a part of the chat a way to send messages for everyone to see without the need to relay information between multiple parties (like an old game of telephone, if you will). However, there will likely come a time when you decide you need to drop out of a particular group chat.

Maybe something came up and you can’t make it to the event everyone is attending, so you have no reason to hang around. Perhaps you simply don’t want to be in the chat anymore, or the sporadic notifications are becoming a nuisance.

Whatever the reason, if you decide it’s time to bow out of an iPhone group chat for any reason you have a couple of different options available—though depending on the circumstances it may not be possible to leave completely.

Muting a group chat

In the event that you don’t want to exit the group chat entirely but are tired of being inundated at a particular time, there is an alternative: Muting it. This will keep you in the chat but prevent notifications about new messages and other activity.

  1. From the Messages app, select the group message you want to mute.
  2. If you’re using iOS 15 and up, tap the Groups icon at the top of the message thread. If you’re using iOS 14 or lower, tap the Groups icon and then tap the Info button.
  3. Look towards the bottom of the menu (you may need to scroll down) and turn on the Hide Alerts toggle.
  4. Alternately, find the group message in the main Messages menu and swipe to the left, then tap the Alerts button to mute it.

Once a chat has been muted you can un-mute it by following the same steps. Muted conversations will display either an icon of a bell with a slash through it in iOS 15 and newer, or a crescent moon in iOS 14 and older.

How to leave group chats

It’s also possible that you have no reason to remain in a group chat, or that you have one of any number of other reasons for wanting to leave it. In which case:

  1. Open the Messages app and locate the group message you want to leave.
  2. Tap the group message, then (if you’re using iOS 15 and up) tap the Groups icon at the top of the thread. Or if you’re using iOS 14 or older, tap the Groups icon and then tap the Info button.
  3. Select Leave this Conversation at the bottom of the menu to leave the group chat.

Be aware that leaving group chats is only possible if everyone in the thread is using iMessage on an Apple device. If one or more of the people included is using something else, you won’t have the option to leave the chat. You’ll need to mute the conversation instead (see above).

The two wheels in front are the most significant difference between the Polaris Slingshot and a standard motorcycle, such as the Honda Rebel or the Kawasaki Ninja. As you can guess, just by looking at the Slingshot, you can see that turning the three-wheeled bike will rely on something other than countersteering, which is how you turn a two-wheeled motorcycle, especially at high speeds. The Polaris Slingshot cannot work on that principle because of the two wheels in front, which is why it was designed with a steering wheel. It turns like a car, so it has a steering wheel like a car to make it easier to control throughout the entire corner.

3 The Slingshot Gets Attention Everywhere You Go

One thing that stands out the most when you own a Polaris Slingshot is how much attention you get. When you pull off the road to gas up, it is almost guaranteed that you will be there for at least half an hour or more. Not because it takes that long to fill the gas tank on the bike but because random people will come up to you and ask questions about the Slingshot. Everything from what it is to how it drives, so when you stop, be prepared to become a salesperson because that is part of owning the Polaris Slingshot you simply cannot avoid.

2 Driving The Slingshot May Not Require An Endorsement

Driving a motorcycle in any state within the country requires that you pass a separate test, other than your basic driving test, to get an endorsement added on to allow you to legally drive a bike. This is not much of a problem if you are a seasoned rider, but when you are first starting out, it can be just as stressful as the first time you had to take the car written and driving test. The Polaris Slingshot falls in between categories in some states, so you may not need a motorcycle endorsement. Check it out before taking your Slingshot for a spin on the roads, though, unless you like playing the odds with the law.

1 The Polaris Slingshot Is Rather Affordable

Don’t assume that the Slingshot has a higher price tag than a motorcycle because it is bigger. This simply is not the case. With a starting price of about $21,000, many motorcycles are more expensive. This makes the price reasonable and affordable when considering everything you get for your money. For that same base price, you could buy a Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Triumph Tiger 1200, or an MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso. These are all great bikes, but you get so much more for your money with the Slingshot. Especially if you plan to take trips or travel with your new machine.

Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor RWD 2023 first drive

During the UK launch of the Polestar 2, the Polestar team mentioned that they don’t typically do facelifts. Instead, they focus on subtle model-year updates and keeping their cars fresh through over-the-air updates. For 2023, the visual changes are minimal, with the fake grille now serving as the SmartZone for the driver assistance systems. Additionally, new wheel designs have been introduced, with the 20-inch option receiving positive reviews.

For the 2023 model, the main changes aim to reduce the Polestar 2’s energy consumption. Similar to the Volvo XC40 and Volvo C40 Recharge, the Polestar 2 now features a more efficient inverter and motor, which are mounted at the rear and power the rear wheels instead of the front. This change also brings a significant increase in power, with the long-range, single-motor version upgraded from 228bhp to 295bhp and capable of rapid charging at 205kW.

Consequently, the Polestar 2 has achieved a more favorable WLTP energy consumption figure of 4.2mpkWh, surpassing Hyundai’s Ioniq 6 streamliner, despite its less aerodynamic shape. Additionally, with a larger battery capacity and improved efficiency, the official range has increased to 406 miles, outperforming the Hyundai, Tesla Model 3 Long Range, and BMW i4 eDrive40.

Returning versions of the Polestar 2 include the Standard Range, Long Range Dual Motor, and Performance Pack, all benefiting from enhanced efficiency and more power. It’s worth noting that the entry-level car now claims a range of 331 miles, potentially making it the most appealing option in the lineup.

Two main questions arise from these updates: can the revised Polestar 2 deliver on its range claims in real-world conditions, and does the rear-wheel drive configuration make it more enjoyable to drive?

In terms of the first question, it’s important to acknowledge that no EV can fully match its laboratory claims, including the Polestar 2. However, after driving the car on various road types in mild conditions, it achieved an indicated energy consumption of 3.4mpkWh, translating to a range of 267 miles. This performance is comparable to the Ioniq 6, demonstrating a commendable result.

Runaway Golf Cart Avoids Cars and Pool, Crashes Into Fence

That’s why having a wheelbarrow or garden cart can be a great help, especially on hot and humid days. Having a golf cart can be even more convenient, as long as you remember to engage the parking brake before loading it up.

According to the video’s description, a woman was doing some gardening in the evening. While loading the golf cart, she accidentally dragged a bag of potting soil over the gas pedal, which also released the parking brake. This is an easy mistake to make since the accelerator and parking brake are part of the same pedal mechanism.

The golf cart immediately took off on its own, with the woman and her golden doodle in close pursuit. Miraculously, it managed to avoid hitting several parked cars, a fire pit, and a fenced-in swimming pool. It headed straight for a horse pasture, knocking down a fence and narrowly missing six colts before veering to the right and coming to a stop. Thankfully, no one, including the horses, was injured, and the damage was minimal. On a positive note, the family found the incident amusing, and we can enjoy the video as well.

While owning a golf cart may seem luxurious, it is a common convenience in many planned communities in the US that are designed for golf cart transportation. Many golf carts are equipped with headlights and turn signals, and people use them for short trips, such as going to the mailbox or visiting the local swimming pool.

As a piece of farm equipment, a golf cart actually serves a practical purpose. If you don’t need the off-road capabilities of a 4×4 ATV, a golf cart is a more affordable option. It is also environmentally friendly if you opt for an electric model. Golf carts are great for transporting people or towing small trailers to carry gardening supplies like potting soil or lumber for fence repairs.

The most important thing to remember when using a golf cart is to always engage the parking brake. There have been several incidents, such as one involving a delivery driver or a driveway mishap, where a truck rolled out of a garage due to the parking brake not being set. These incidents serve as funny but friendly reminders that setting the parking brake can greatly reduce the risk of accidents.

Watch an Old Ford Taurus Outperform Porsche, BMW, and McLaren on the Race Track

The classic Ford Taurus SHO continues to impress even after being on the road for over 30 years. Imagine attending an open track event in 2023 with your McLaren 720S, only to find a first-generation white Taurus right behind you in the rearview mirror. While the Taurus didn’t overtake the McLaren, it did pass other drivers, as shown in the video above.

The video is courtesy of Adam Hartlmeier, who is a well-known enthusiast of the SHO. Adam and his wife Michelle own several first-generation models, including two of the four Ninja Turtle SHO race cars that participated in the IMSA Firestone Firehawk series in the early 1990s. However, the car featured in this video is a different white 1990 SHO that has been modified for track fun.

By “comfortably modified,” we mean that there are no extravagant modifications such as turbochargers, superchargers, or nitrous oxide. The car features a mostly stock 3.2-liter SHO V6 engine, producing around 250 horsepower at the front wheels. It has coilovers, upgraded 13-inch brakes, and has been stripped down to weigh approximately 2,600 pounds.

The video was filmed at the Blackhawk Farms track in Illinois. It captures the McLaren 720S and the Taurus SHO racing together, with the Taurus keeping up with the McLaren in the corners but falling behind on the straights. However, the Taurus manages to overtake several other cars, including Miatas, a Chevrolet Camaro, a Ford Mustang, and even a BMW E30 and a Porsche Cayman.

Adam Hartlmeier highlights the fact that the SHO is a dedicated racer, while most other cars at the event were street cars designed for both track and street use. It’s impressive that a car originally designed for comfortable transportation can outperform cars with significantly more power on the track. Many people are surprised by the SHO’s speed, making it one of the most unexpected performance cars.
