Refreshed Kawasaki Z900RS Ready To Hit US Roads In 2024

Among all the neo-retro offerings in the market, you could argue that the Kawasaki Z900RS is by far the most retro when it comes to styling and design. This can be found in the small details such as the model’s minimal use of plastic parts, its analog gauges, and of course, the fact that its silhouette follows that of the original Z1 very closely.

That being said, Team Green has refreshed the Z900RS model range for the 2024 model-year, and while the updates are minimal, fans and enthusiasts of Team Green will surely appreciate the updates. As mentioned earlier, the 2024 Z900RS is offered in three trim levels – ABS, Cafe, and SE. They all share the same engine, a 948cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-four cylinder engine dishing out 111 horsepower and 72.3 pound-feet of torque. They also all receive what Kawasaki calls “authentic retro styling,” boasting a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a circular LED headlight, and a stainless steel exhaust system.

Now, let’s dive into the unique characteristics of the individual models. Starting off with the Z900RS ABS, it comes in a new Metallic Diablo Black paint scheme, and features the most neutral setup of the bunch. With an upright seating position, the bike is both sporty and comfortable, making it a versatile all-rounder. It’s also the most affordable Z900RS model at $12,149 USD.

Up next, the Z900RS Cafe takes things to a more dapper level by incorporating a sporty headlight cowl, lower handlebars, and a cafe-racer inspired saddle. As such, the bike has a sportier, more aggressive seating position. It’s also offered in the same Metallic Diablo Black color scheme, but the additional components will cost a slight premium. The Z900RS Cafe for the 2024 model-year has an MSRP of $12,899 USD.

Last but certainly not least is the Z900RS SE, which is the most performance-oriented version. It also pays homage to the iconic Z1 with its Yellow Ball-inspired paintwork, but the fancy features don’t stop with its aesthetics. The Z900RS SE is equipped with components you’d expect to find on supersport motorcycles, such as an Öhlins S46 rear shock with a remote preload adjuster, as well as Brembo M4.32 radially mounted calipers. It carries an MSRP of $14,149.

Fisker Ocean Force E: Everything We Know So Far

The rise of electric vehicles has led to an influx of innovative car offerings. One such offering is the Fisker Ocean by California-based company Fisker, helmed by industry expert Henry Fisker. The Ocean is designed to combine sustainability, luxury, aesthetics, and performance in the electric vehicle sector. Now, Fisker has introduced a derivative model called the Fisker Ocean Force E, aimed at off-road driving and eco-friendly adventures.

Fisker recently unveiled three new electric concepts, including the Pear compact crossover, the Alaska pickup truck, and the Ronin flagship luxury convertible. Alongside these models, Fisker showcased the Ocean Force E, an off-road package that can be added to the electric SUV. The Force E features 33-inch off-road tires, specialized shock absorbers, front and rear skid plates, and increased ground clearance compared to the standard model.

The Force E package is designed to enhance the Fisker Ocean’s capabilities for off-road exploration. It includes larger off-road tires, distinct bumpers, undercarriage shielding, a raised suspension with improved shock absorbers, and a roof-mounted cargo rack. Customers can also opt for extra grip handles and a rubber floor covering for easy cleanup after outdoor adventures. The package comes with a dedicated off-road mode and tailored powertrain settings provided through an over-the-air software update.

The Fisker Ocean remains an impressive electric SUV even without the Force E package. It boasts a fully electric powertrain, a cabin incorporating recycled materials and synthetic leather, and a unique exterior design. The interior showcases simplicity and upscale luxury, featuring a rotating screen on the dashboard and a digital instrument cluster. However, the rear seating area may feel confined for larger families.

The performance of the Fisker Ocean varies across different trim levels. The entry-level model offers 275 horsepower and a 0-60 mph sprint in 6.9 seconds, while the range-topping version boasts 550 horsepower and a 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.6 seconds. The range of the Ocean also varies, with the base model offering 250 miles and the higher-end models providing up to 350 miles.

Overall, the Fisker Ocean and its Force E package offer a combination of sustainability, luxury, and performance in the electric SUV market. The Force E package enhances off-road capabilities, while the Ocean’s unique design and eco-friendly features make it an appealing choice for nature enthusiasts.

New Akrapovič Slip-On Exhausts For Honda CB750 Hornet And XL750 Transalp

Akrapovič has introduced two new slip-on exhaust options for Honda enthusiasts, specifically designed for the Honda XL750 Transalp and the Honda CB750 Hornet. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust for the XL750 Transalp features a black-coated outer sleeve, a lightweight titanium construction, and a stainless steel connecting pipe. The Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust for the CB750 Hornet is handcrafted with a carbon fiber outer muffler sleeve, a stainless steel inner frame, and a titanium end cap.

These aftermarket exhaust options offer significant performance enhancements, particularly in the medium to high rev ranges. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust provides a power boost of 0.7 kW and a torque increase of 0.9 lb-ft at 5,700 rpm compared to the stock exhaust system. The Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust offers an increase of 0.5 kW and 0.42 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 rpm and 5,300 rpm, respectively.

In addition to performance improvements, both exhaust options reduce weight compared to the stock systems. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust achieves a 39.8% weight reduction, shedding 3.5 pounds, while the Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhaust achieves a 45.6% weight reduction, trimming down by 3.9 pounds.

Installation of these CE/ECE-approved Euro 5 slip-on exhaust systems is hassle-free and does not require remapping. They provide a deep, sporty sound and are fully compatible with Honda’s original soft cases.

New Mercedes CLA Spied With Final Lights And Production Body

Mercedes is streamlining its compact car lineup by phasing out certain models. While the A-Class Sedan will likely be discontinued soon, the CLA will continue into its third generation. The upcoming sedan will be part of the newly established Entry Luxury category. Recently, a prototype of the CLA was spotted with the finalized headlights, taillights, and what appears to be the production body.

Teased as a concept coming to IAA Munich next month, this will be the smallest sedan to bear the iconic three-pointed star. It will be built on the Mercedes Modular Architecture. Although the absence of an exhaust suggests that this particular prototype is fully electric, it is evident from the vehicle’s design that it can also accommodate combustion engines. Mercedes has confirmed that the Modular Architecture is being engineered for both internal combustion engines (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) applications.

Watch Ferrari Testing Porsche 911 GT3 RS And McLaren Artura

Automakers often evaluate the performance of their own vehicles by benchmarking them against competitors. Even a renowned brand like Ferrari keeps a close eye on the supercar market. A spy photographer named Varryx camped outside Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello and captured footage of the company testing a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a McLaren Artura. There were also numerous Ferrari models spotted during the testing.

The yellow Porsche 911 GT3 RS gets a lot of screen time in the video. It can be seen driving behind the gates, taking a run on public roads, and returning for further evaluation. The current GT3 RS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that generates 518 horsepower and is paired with a seven-speed PDK gearbox. Official specifications indicate that the car can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 184 mph. The model features active aerodynamic elements at the front and a drag reduction system, and it holds a lap record at the Nürburgring, completing it in 6 minutes and 49.328 seconds.

The blue McLaren Artura makes a briefer appearance in the video. It is seen going on a single outing.

The Artura is McLaren’s first series-production plug-in hybrid car, which sets it apart from the limited-run P1 supercar. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine combined with an electric motor in the transmission bell housing. The only available gearbox is an eight-speed dual-clutch setup. The Artura has a total output of 671 horsepower and 593 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 205 mph. The car also features a 7.4-kilowatt-hour battery that provides an electric driving range of 19 miles.

  • At Rs 18.29 lakh, the new Seltos has one of the costliest range-topping petrol-manual variants on offer thanks to the premium features such as a 10.25-inch digital driver display, 8-way powered driver seat and seat ventilation.
