Makita Vs Milwaukee: Which Brand Offers The Better Warranty?

The ease of making a warranty claim depends on two factors: the claim process and the customer service.

Making a warranty claim at both Milwaukee and Makita is fairly simple. You return the product (at your own expense) along with all of its accessories to authorized repair centers or factories. The company examines the product and lets you know if it’s a misuse or an actual manufacturing fault. The only difference is that Milwaukee requires purchase receipts to determine warranty duration while Makita doesn’t. Although, you should always keep the purchase receipts.

In case you’ve lost the receipt, Milwaukee looks at the product’s manufacturing date instead to calculate your remaining warranty. If your tool was manufactured significantly before your purchase date, your coverage period may shrink enough to fail your claim.

When it comes to customer service, buyers have mixed customer service experiences from both brands. Generally, buyers consider both to be responsive and cooperative. But where each company has mostly positive reviews on places like Reddit, every has negative ones, too.

Since customer support is subjective and laborious to generalize, we’re solely left with the method. Milwaukee is strict with buy receipts, which provides to the shopper’s accountability. With Milwaukee’s receipts, you could have yet one more factor to fret about. Makita, in distinction, does not require it, simplifying the declare course of for you. So, Makita is clearly the higher selection right here.

How to Renew Expired Car Insurance with Tata AIG

Easy online procedures and customer support from Tata AIG allow you to renew your expired car insurance policy hassle-free within minutes

Car insurance is one of the mandatory documents you must possess to drive a car in India. As important as it is to buy a car insurance policy, it is equally essential to renew the same.

Typically, a four-wheeler insurance policy is valid for a year, and the owner-driver must renew the policy before expiry to avoid any consequences. Many may consider car insurance renewal as an added cost.

However, there are several benefits of purchasing this  insurance and renewing the same. Primarily, it helps extend the protection shield and abide by the rules for a longer duration.

With Tata AIG’s online features, the two prime aspects – price and ease in process are taken care of. It is now convenient to buy online car insurance and renew it.

In the article below, we shall discuss what expired car insurance means, why you should renew it and the procedure for renewing car insurance online from Tata AIG.

What is an Expired Car Insurance?

Every four-wheeler policy is valid for a certain period and has an expiry date. If a policy is not renewed before this expiry date, it is termed as expired, lapsed or ‘break-in’ policy. You cannot raise a raise after your policy has expired; hence, you must renew it to make it functional.

Grace Period for Car Insurance Renewal After Expiry

Typically, insurance providers offer a certain period starting from the expiry date, wherein the policyholder can renew the policy without losing over the NCB and other discounts. This period is called the Grace Period. While it is always recommended to renew the policy before the expiry date, in some cases, you still have a grace period if you fail to renew it.

Tata AIG offers a 90 days Grace Period from the date of  insurance expiry. If you renew your comprehensive car insurance policy within this Grace Period, you will retain your accumulated NCB discounts and other benefits. You must renew it within this period to ensure you get all the benefits and pay a higher premium.

How to Renew Expired Car Insurance Offline with Tata AIG

Your Tata AIG car insurance renewal can be done in two ways – offline and online.

You can visit your nearest Tata AIG branch office for offline procedures with your policy and other relevant KYC and policy-related documents. Ensure you proceed with the process within the grace period for smooth functioning. At the branch, fill in the application form, and pay the fee via cheque, cash or online. On submission of the form and other documents, your car renewal procedure shall begin.

How to Renew Expired Car Insurance Online with Tata AIG

Many often forget to renew their insurance policy for their car before it expires. Renewing an expired car insurance is no longer a challenging task. Insurance providers like Tata AIG offer hassle-free and quick procedures to renew your car insurance online.

Below are the steps to renew your expired car insurance policy online with Tata AIG:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Tata AIG.

Step 2: Under the All Products tab, select Car Insurance.

Step 3: You will be directed to their Car Insurance Page. A small form appears on the top of the page. Fill in your car registration number and click on ‘Renew’.

Step 4: Fill in your personal details.

Step 5: Select add-ons as per requirement. Tata AIG offers 12 unique add-ons to enhance your comprehensive plan coverage.

Step 6: Enter your car-related details like the car’s name and model, RTO office number, etc. You will also be prompted to add details of the claim raised in the previous year as well as the policy expiration date.

Step 7: Your car insurance premium is displayed on the screen.

Step 8: Make a secure payment online, and your policy is renewed.

Step 9: You will receive your policy documents and other details on your registered WhatsApp number or email address.

Things to Keep in Mind When Your Car Insurance is Expired

Ideally, you must always renew your four-wheeler insurance before the expiry date. However, in some cases, if your insurance is inactive, here are a few things you must remember.

  • Tata AIG offers a 90 days grace period to renew your existing four-wheeler insurance policy; the sooner you renew, the better.

  • Avoid driving without a valid (inactive) insurance policy for a car, as there may be a chance of getting caught by the cops, and you may have to pay a hefty penalty.

  • Evaluate the options carefully before renewing.

  • Consider buying online car insurance, which helps you compare and calculate premiums and offers easy and paperless procedures.

  • You can also opt for long-term policies while renewing; this will eliminate the concern of renewing the policy yearly.

Why Should You Renew Car Insurance Before Expiry?

The Motor Vehicles Act 1988 mandates every four-wheeler driver to have a valid insurance policy to be eligible to drive on Indian roads. If you fail to renew your policy, it may have both legal and financial consequences.

Some of the reasons to renew your expired car insurance include:

  • You will receive no compensation for losses: An essential reason for buying car insurance is to protect yourself, your car or the third party from any possible injury or losses. If you opt for third-party insurance, you will get coverage for the damage done to the other party and in comprehensive insurance, you get covered under various other scenarios. However, if your policy lapses, you will not get any coverage, and any loss or damage must be borne by you entirely.

  • You may face legal consequences: Having at least third-party insurance is mandatory. If found driving without valid insurance may attract legal penalties. In Maharashtra, the penalty for driving without insurance is ₹2,000 (first offence) or imprisonment of up to three months. Repeated offences may attract a fine of ₹4,000 or imprisonment of three months.

  • To keep your No Claim Bonus (NCB) intact: A no-claim bonus is a discount an insurance company gives on your premium for every claim-free year. Tata AIG offers NCB that can be accumulated for a maximum of five consecutive years up to a maximum of 50% discount. If you have accumulated a good discount and not renewed the policy before expiry, you will lose out on these bonuses. This means you will have to pay a higher premium.

  • You may have to go through the inspection procedure again: If your existing insurance policy for the car has expired, renewal of the same can be done. However, you may have to go through inspection procedures all over again.

To Sum Up

Valid car insurance is legally required to drive your car on public roads in India. Moreover, it is for your and third-party safety. Car insurance renewal after expiry can have serious consequences. Hence, it would be best to always aim to renew it before expiration. Easy online procedures and customer support from Tata AIG allow you to renew your expired car insurance policy hassle-free within minutes.

Toyota Expands Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Research with San Diego Gas & Electric Company Collaboration

The collaboration between Toyota and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) will focus on vehicle-to-grid (V2G) research for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) using a Toyota bZ4X. The V2G research will explore bidirectional power flow technology that enables BEV owners to both charge their vehicle’s batteries from the electric grid and discharge electricity from the batteries back to the grid.

The partnership aims to understand the needs of BEV owners and how they use their vehicles to drive widespread adoption of V2G. By leveraging bidirectional capabilities, these vehicles could send power back to the grid during peak demand hours or at critical times, such as during shortages in electricity supplies.

SDG&E’s service territory, representing one of the largest Toyota BEV and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) ownership regions in California, provides an excellent area for this research. Through this collaboration, SDG&E and Toyota aim to identify customer benefits that can be achieved through new products and services, as well as to understand the infrastructure needed to enable the rapid growth of EV charging infrastructure and further stabilize the power grid during peak hours.

Currently, Toyota offers two mass-market BEVs in the U.S. and Canada – the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ 450e. Toyota’s plans for the future include offering 30 BEV models globally across its Toyota and Lexus brand nameplates and producing up to 3.5 million BEVs annually by 2030.

For more information about Toyota, visit www.ToyotaNewsroom.com. For Toyota customer inquiries, please call 800-331-4331.

SDG&E is committed to creating a sustainable future by increasing energy delivered from low or zero-carbon sources, accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles, and investing in innovative technologies to ensure the reliable operation of the region’s infrastructure for generations to come. Despite a seventh-place finish in qualifying, Farrow and Lad made a remarkable comeback, crossing the finish line first with a 1.5-second lead. In the GT3 class, Salva Talens and Alejandro Sanchez secured their first victory of the season in the #99 BMW M4 GT3, while Alexander Thiebe and Sam Kuitert finished third. Team Redline’s race was disappointing as Tom Burns crashed early on, preventing Max Verstappen from taking the wheel.

BMW M Motorsport News, 10th October 2023

Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport:

“What an exciting phase of the motorsport season! Every week, titles are being won all over the world and I am delighted to again be able to congratulate BMW M Motorsport drivers and teams – particularly Adrenalin Motorsport Team Motec on their overall victory in the NLS. For the sixth time in a row – awesome! I am also pleased for Walkenhorst Motorsport, who dominated the season in the top SP9 Pro class and deservedly won the NLS Speed Trophy. I would also like to congratulate all the other members of the BMW M Motorsport family, who brought a successful season on the Nordschleife to a close on Saturday! In North America, Zac Anderson won the Silver class in GT4 America. Charlie Postins and James Clay also won the title in the Am category. I was at Indianapolis myself and was able to congratulate them personally. When title races are so close, there are obviously disappointments. I can ensure the BMW M Motorsport drivers and teams who narrowly missed out that we are still very proud of their magnificent performances this season. I am sure they will get another chance!”

NLS: Adrenalin Motorsport celebrates sixth title in a row.

Philipp Leisen, Oskar Sandberg and Daniel Zils (all GER) of Adrenalin Motorsport Team Motec have once again won the championship in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). The German trio in the #1 BMW 330i again won the VT2-R+4WD class to secure the title. Adrenalin Motorsport celebrated its sixth overall victory in a row, making it the most successful team in NLS history.

After three back-to-back wins, Christian Krognes (NOR) and Jakub Giermaziak (POL) were again to be found at the front of the field during the season finale. This time, however, they had to settle for fourth place in the SP9 Pro class. Despite that, the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 comfortably won the NLS Speed Trophy on the Nordschleife.

The FK Performance Motorsport team also had cause for celebration on Saturday, claiming an impressive one-two in the SP10 class. Nick Hancke, Thorsten Wolter and Nick Wüstenhagen (all GER) took victory in the #187 BMW M4 GT4, ahead of Christian Konnerth, Michael Schrey (both GER), Ranko Mijatovic (SUI) and Sindre Setsaas (NOR) in the #178 BMW M4 GT4.

BMW Motorsport teams and drivers were also out in front in the BMW M240i, BMW M2 CS, V4, VT3 and H4 classes.

GTWC/GT4/GT/TC: Many highs and some lows at Indianapolis.

The ST Racing team, with Samantha Tan (CAN), BMW M works driver Neil Verhagen and Jake Walker (both USA) finished sixth in the Pro-Am class at the wheel of the #38 BMW M4 GT3 at the finale of this season’s Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS, which took place at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway (USA).

In GT4 America, Zac Anderson (USA) was crowned champion in the Silver Class. He finished third and fourth alongside John Capresto-Dubets (USA) in the #51 BMW M4 GT4 at Indianapolis, and secured the title with a lead of 21 points. The winner of the opening race was also a BMW M4 GT4 as Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch (both USA) from the Random Vandals Racing team won the Silver Class in the #92 BMW M4 GT4. They then finished third in race two to earn third place in the overall standings and round off an outstanding result for BMW M Motorsport.

In contrast, there was disappointment for James Walker Jr. and Tyler McQuarrie (both USA). The #82 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 failed to finish race one in Indianapolis. Race two saw Walker and McQuarrie launch an impressive fightback from 17th on the grid. In the end, however, they had to settle for sixth place in the Pro-Am class, meaning they missed out on the title by one solitary point.

The title in the Am class went to Charlie Postins and James Clay (both USA) from the BimmerWorld team in the #36 BMW M4 GT4.

In TC America, BMW M Motorsport teams celebrated not one but two double podiums. Colin Garrett (USA/Rooster Hall Racing) in the #44 BMW M2 CS Racing finished runner-up in the opening race, with Adam Gleason (USA) from Fast Track Racing coming home third to complete the podium in the #21 BMW M2 CS Racing. Garrett was second again in race two. That time, he was followed over the finish line by Kenny Schmied (USA) in the #14 BMW M2 CS Racing for AOA Racing.

GT4 France: Lessennes/van der Ende narrowly miss out on the title.

Benjamin Lessennes (BEL) and Ricardo van der Ende (NED) came within a whisker of winning the GT4 France title at the final weekend of the season at Le Castellet (FRA). On Saturday, the #17 BMW M4 GT4 (G82) finished fifth in the Silver class. The duo from the L’Espace Bienvenue team went one better and came home fourth on Sunday.

BTCC: Hill celebrates at season finale.

Jake Hill (GBR) from the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team ended this season’s British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) on a high. The Brit won the third and final race of the season finale at Brands Hatch (GBR). Team BMW driver Stephen Jelley (GBR) came home third to make it a double podium for the BMW 330e M Sport. The weekend at Brands Hatch had been a disappointing one for BMW up to that point. The #4 BMW 330e M Sport of Colin Turkington (GBR/Team BMW) was the best-placed BMW in the opening race, finishing fourth. In race two, sixth place for Hill in the #24 BMW 330e M Sport made him the best of the BMW drivers. A strong end to the season saw Hill finish third in the overall standings, ahead of four-time champion Turkington in fourth. In the Manufacturer competition, BMW finished runner-up, narrowly missing out on the title by just four points.
