McLaren Offers Special Stripes And Logos For Its 60th Anniversary

The year 2023 is not over yet, which means that McLaren still has time to celebrate its 60th birthday. All of McLaren’s series production cars can now be customized with various visual tweaks to highlight the brand’s milestones. The cosmetic upgrades are centered around the “Triple Crown” motif, which showcases the brand’s victories in prestigious races spanning six decades since its founding by Bruce McLaren.

One of the new options is Indy Orange, a solid color inspired by the paint used on the McLaren M16D when it won the Indianapolis 500 in 1974. Monaco White, another solid color, pays tribute to the MP4/2, the car that won the 1984 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix with Alain Prost behind the wheel. Additionally, there’s Le Mans Grey, a metallic hue that honors the legendary F1 GTR, which emerged victorious at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995.

CFMoto Teases New High-Performance Sportbikes At 2023 CFMoto Day

CFMoto recently unveiled two new models, the 500SR and 675SR, at the 2023 CFMoto Day event in Zhuzhou, China. These models are part of the SR range, which includes the 450SR, the most performance-oriented model currently available. The 500SR features a brand-new 500cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-four-cylinder engine that has been in development for three years. Despite its small size, this engine boasts impressive features such as forged aluminum pistons, stretch-bolt connecting rods, and a low-inertia crankshaft for high-revving performance. CFMoto claims that the 500SR can reach speeds of over 230 kilometers per hour (144 miles per hour).

In addition to the 500SR, CFMoto also showcased the 675SR, which is their most performance-oriented bike to date. This supersport bike is powered by a three-cylinder engine that delivers over 100 horsepower. CFMoto has not provided specific details about the launch plans for the 500SR and 675SR. However, it is expected that these groundbreaking models will be released globally. More information about these bikes is anticipated to be revealed soon.

Jeep Celebrates Seven Decades on the Rubicon Trail with 70th Anniversary Trail Ride

  • Jeep® brand and Jeep Jamboree celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Rubicon Trail
  • 450 Jeep enthusiasts in 125 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators marked the Rubicon Trail’s seven-decade anniversary
  • New video takes enthusiasts along the ultimate trail ride
  • The Rubicon Trail located in northern California covers approximately 22 miles with 7,000 feet of elevation
  • Jeep Jamboree operates more than 40 Jeep Jamborees annually

August 31, 2023 – The Jeep® brand and Jeep Jamboree are celebrating 70 years of extreme off-roading adventure this summer. Since 1953, the Rubicon Trail, known as one of the most difficult off-road trails in the world, has been a lifestyle symbol of Jeep 4×4 off-road adventuring for the Jeep community.

This summer, 450 Jeep enthusiasts and their families and friends, driving a total of 125 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators, celebrated with a special event on the Rubicon Trail’s seven-decade anniversary.

A new video posted on the Jeep brand’s YouTube channel gives a taste of the adventure.

“For more than 80 years, the Jeep brand community has defined the Jeep brand and, for 70 of those years, the Rubicon Trail has been one of the toughest off-road trails in the world. It has become a bucket list item for every Jeep 4×4 customer because of its difficulty and beauty,” said Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand, North America.

“Conquering the Rubicon Trail proves that these Jeep vehicles can go anywhere and do anything. The video shows the capabilities of Jeep 4xe vehicles, which are part of our next generation of electrified Jeep 4×4 vehicles that can conquer even the most challenging terrains.”

The Rubicon Trail is located in northern California, near Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It spans approximately 22 miles and offers the toughest off-road terrain, which Jeep Trail Rated 4×4 vehicles are designed to overcome.

Jeep Jamboree covers 17.5 miles of tough terrain on its trail rides, with elevations ranging from 5,400 feet to over 7,000 feet. The Rubicon Trail is widely recognized as the top off-road vehicle route in the United States.

“In 1953, when Mark Smith organised the first Jeep Jamboree with 55 Willys and crossed the Sierra Nevada Mountains via the Rubicon Trail, off-road recreation was born,” said Pearse Umlauf, President and CEO of Jeep Jamboree.

“Willys Motors, the manufacturer of Jeep vehicles at the time, got involved the following year, and Jeep Jamborees have become an off-road tradition ever since. We have seen a surge of interest, especially after the COVID pandemic, with a tremendous demand from people who want to experience off-roading in their Jeep vehicles.”

The Rubicon Trail has been utilized by Jeep brand engineers to develop and test their most capable SUVs, including the iconic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The Wrangler Rubicon, introduced in 2002, was equipped with unique features such as Dana 44 axles, lockers, disconnecting sway bar, rock rails, oversized mud-terrain tires, and wheel flares that took off-roading to the next level. The Wrangler Rubicon continues to inspire the brand’s future designs and improvements, based on feedback from enthusiasts and loyal Jeep customers.

Jeep Jamboree
Jeep Jamborees are off-road adventure weekends that bring together outdoor enthusiasts and their Jeep 4x4s. The tradition dates back to 1953, when 4×4 pioneer Mark A. Smith organized the first Jeep Jamboree and led a voyage across the old Rubicon Trail in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Willys Motors, the manufacturer of Jeep vehicles at the time, became involved with the adventure in 1954, and Jeep Jamborees have been a tradition ever since. Jeep Jamboree now operates over 40 events annually and continues to expand its offerings.

VAUXHALL CELEBRATES LAUNCH OF ASTRA ELECTRIC WITH MURALS IN LONDON AND MANCHESTER

  • Vauxhall has commissioned two murals in London and Manchester to celebrate the launch of the new Astra Electric
  • British artist Iain Macarthur collaborated with Vauxhall to create dynamic street art inspired by the Astra Electric
  • The public can view the murals throughout August
  • Vauxhall will transition to becoming an electric-only brand starting in 2028

Vauxhall is celebrating the recent launch of the Astra Electric by showcasing two eye-catching murals in London and Manchester. Created by British artist Iain Macarthur, the murals will be on display until August 27th. They represent Vauxhall’s commitment to innovative design and artistic expression, highlighting the brand’s dedication to British design influences.

The murals, located in Shoreditch, London, and the Northern Quarter in Manchester, showcase Macarthur’s unique surrealist style and convey the vibrancy and dynamism of the Astra Electric. This design philosophy earned the Astra a prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design earlier this year.

Iain Macarthur stated, “I wanted to capture the energy of the Astra by creating patterns that resemble electricity, flowing throughout the design in a visually striking way that aligns with Vauxhall’s bold and pure design language. Partnering with Vauxhall was a pleasure, as they allowed me creative freedom to express my vision of what clean energy would look like.”

The murals feature scannable QR codes that the public can scan to visit www.vauxhall-mural-ar.com and experience the Astra Electric through augmented reality, offering an interactive and immersive experience of the vehicle.

By collaborating with an innovative British artist and exhibiting the murals in iconic locations in London and Manchester, Vauxhall honors its longstanding connection to British design and heritage.

The Astra Electric is equipped with Vauxhall’s next-generation 54kWh battery and a 115kW (156hp) electric motor, capable of achieving up to 258 miles of range (WLTP) on a single charge. By 2024, all Vauxhall cars and vans will have a fully-electric version, and by 2028, Vauxhall will exclusively produce electric vehicles as a brand.

James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, commented, “This mural celebrates not only the launch of the exciting Astra Electric but also our Bold and Pure design language, which draws inspiration from the best of British art and innovation. I am eager to see Iain’s work in person and extend my gratitude to him for contributing to something that the public can enjoy in London and Manchester.”
