Tips for Renewing Your Tata AIG Car Insurance

Purchasing or renewing a four-wheeler insurance policy is a significant decision that requires thorough research and examination

We all are busy in our fast-paced lives. With various day-to-day challenges and numerous responsibilities, we tend to forget many significant things. One amongst them is a car insurance renewal.

Insurance companies like Tata AIG provide timely reminders to help policyholders remember the renewal is due. Moreover, the car insurance renewal process has become simple, quick and hassle-free, thanks to online procedures.

Additionally, the car insurance policy renewal period can be an opportunity to switch plans, including add-ons, or shift to a new insurance provider. For example, if you currently have third-party insurance, you can switch to comprehensive car insurance at the time of renewal.

However, when renewing your policy, certain factors must be considered to ensure you pick a policy that best suits your needs or budget.

Smart Tips to Renew Your Car Insurance with Tata AIG

At Tata AIG, you can renew not only an existing Tata AIG policy but also any other insurance provider’s policy. Additionally, we also allow renewal of expired policies up to 90 days from the policy expiry date.

The best way to renew four-wheeler insurance is through the online mode. However, Tata AIG also offers regular offline modes for car policy renewal.

Regardless of the mode you select, consider these tips below before renewing.

Assess the type of plan you require

If you wish to upgrade your existing plan or move to another plan (like from third-party or standalone own-damage car insurance to comprehensive insurance), policy renewal is the correct time to switch. Assess your requirements and budget before making a switch.

Compare different four-wheeler insurance policies

You can use policy renewal to move to a different insurance provider. Choosing an insurance provider with a strong market credibility, high claim settlement ratio and reasonable customer satisfaction rate is always recommended. When you opt for car insurance renewal online, comparing policies becomes easier.

Choose add-ons to customise your plan

To mitigate losses not primarily covered in a regular car insurance policy, you can opt for add-ons. Tata AIG offers 12-unique car insurance add-ons to enhance your overall coverage.

When you opt for a car insurance renewal online, you can easily include add-ons; however, always consider the associated cost.

Opt for voluntary deductible for lower premiums

Voluntary deduction is the portion of the claim the policyholder agrees to pay themselves. For example, if the voluntary deduction opted for is 20%, and the claim amount is ₹1,000, then the policyholder will pay ₹200, and the insurance company will settle the rest ₹800.

The higher the voluntary deductible, the lower your premium will be.

Check network of garages

It is always wiser to opt for an insurance provider with a wider range of network garages, as it saves you from many hassles. For example, Tata AIG has over 7500 network garages nationwide for accessible cashless facilities. Also, use policy renewal to identify the updated list of cashless network garages near you.

Make use of No Claim Bonus

No Claim Bonus is the reward or discount given by the insurance company to the policyholder for every claim-free year.

The reward accumulates to a maximum limit of 50% of the discount on the premium for five or more consecutive claim-free years. You can take advantage of this accumulated discount to lower your premium during car policy renewal.

Know the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of your car

The Insured Declared Value (IDV) is typically the current market value of your car. In case of theft or damages amounting to the total loss of the vehicle, the insurance company pays for the IDV to the policyholder.

Higher IDV signifies higher risk for the insurer. Hence, a higher premium is charged and vice versa.

Every year, at the time of car insurance renewal, you must enter the correct IDV. Also, the IDV of the previous year will always be higher than the current year.

Consider enhancing your vehicle’s security

Installing anti-theft devices in your car, garage or parking lot gives a positive signal to the insurer that the policyholder is taking measures to reduce the risk.

Choosing devices certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) can help you get lower premiums during car insurance policy renewal.

Read the terms and conditions

It is important to stay aware of the policy’s terms and conditions, any changes in inclusions and exclusions, etc. Many individuals who are happy with their existing policy skip reading the terms and conditions at the time of renewal, only to realise later that there have been some significant changes. It is always best to learn about them at the time of renewal.

Renew car insurance on time

Car insurance policy renewal is important, and renewing it before the policy expires is equally essential. If a policy lapses, it may lead to consequences like losing out on your NCB, chances of being penalised for not abiding by the rules, etc.

Tata AIG offers a 90-day Grace Period starting from the date of policy expiration to renew your policy without losing on the No Claim Benefit and other rewards.

Skoda Superb New Vs Old: Compared In Images

The new-gen sedan carries gets changes to the exterior but the cabin has been given a thorough redesign

Skoda Superb: New vs Old

The 2024 Skoda Superb has been unveiled globally and is expected to enter the Indian market sometime next year. It will mark the executive sedan’s entry back into the country after it was discontinued earlier this year. With its new Modern Solid design language, the new-gen Superb carries a lot of changes over the discontinued India-spec model, and you can check them out in this detailed gallery.

Front

Compared to the now discontinued India-spec version, the new Superb comes with a bigger and slightly redesigned grille. Here, the bonnet is slightly reworked, the LED headlights and DRLs are sleeker and the bumper has sharper cuts emerging from the headlights.

Skoda has removed fog lamps from the bottom, and the front bumper now has a diagonal chrome pattern.

Side

The side profile is more or less the same with some minor tweaks to the character lines. The panels, chrome around the window line and the quarter glass are still the same, but the profile now misses out on a chrome strip under the doors. If the new Superb looks bigger, it’s because compared to the previous generation, it is 43mm longer and 12mm taller.

The new Superb also comes with a new alloy wheel design, the sizes of which range from 16 to 19-inches. The old India-spec model had 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Rear

At the back, the new Superb gets sleeker C-shaped LED tail lamps with individual light elements. Skoda has also put its new logo, the boot lip is wider and the bumper and reflector panels have been redesigned as well.

Dashboard

Inside the new Skoda Superb, the changes are more significant. It gets a new layered dashboard with different cabin themes. The dashboard has vertical slats that hide the side AC vents and it features a curved design at the bottom which merges into the centre console.

This dash also houses a 13-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment system compared to the 8-inch unit in the older version. It also gets a 10-inch digital driver’s display and a heads-up display.

The centre console now has a minimalistic design with minimal controls. The AC dials are still physical but also get haptic controls and smart display. Next, the drive-selector has been shifted to a stalk positioned behind the steering wheel. You also get a wireless phone charger in the middle and this centre console further merges with a central tunnel.

Front Seats

The interior textiles of the new Skoda Superb are made of 100 percent recycled materials and come with a new design and prominent contours. The front seats are still powered as the older version, but they now offer a massage function too.

Expected Launch & Price

2024 Skoda Superb

The 2024 Skoda Superb will be launched globally early next year and it can be launched in India as a CBU (completely built-up unit) offering later in 2024. Skoda could price it from Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards and it will be a rival to the Toyota Camry. Meanwhile, the now discontinued Skoda Superb was last sold at prices of Rs 34.19 lakh to Rs 37.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

5 Key Updates Made To The Tata Harrier Facelift

The refreshed Tata Harrier gets its most thorough update since launch, with a modern design and more features than ever

Tata Harrier facelift

The Tata Harrier facelift is about to be launched soon, and the carmaker has revealed the updated SUV in images. Bookings for the new Harrier are now open both online and at Tata dealerships for Rs 25,000. Here are 5 key updates that have been made to the refreshed avatar of the Harrier SUV:

Design Similarities With The New Nexon

Tata Harrier: old vs new

Remember the Tata Curvv concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023? Well, that has been the inspiration for the carmaker’s modern design language, which was seen on the new Tata Harrier EV concept from the same showcase. It then made its market debut with the Tata Nexon and Tata Nexon EV facelifts, and this production-ready design philosophy has been carried over onto the new Harrier. It has a split-LED headlight setup stacked vertically, and an elongated LED DRL strip across the bonnet.

Even its back has been redone a bit, which now sports connected LED taillights featuring a Z-shaped lighting element. It gets a new font style for the ‘Harrier’ badging which is not only present on the boot but is now also provided on the lower side of the front doors. The Harrier facelift is also being offered with optional 19-inch alloy wheels, while the 18-inch alloys get an updated design featuring aerodynamic inserts.

The new Tata Harrier will be available in seven exterior paint options: Sunlit Yellow, Oberon Black, Pebble Grey, Lunar White, Coral Red, Seaweed Green, and Ash Grey.

A Refreshed Cabin

Tata has redesigned the dashboard of the Harrier SUV as it gets a layered setup with curves at the bottom. Its central AC vents have been redone and it now comes with a touch-enabled climate control panel as seen on the new Nexon. Other big updates include the new 4-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo and the rotary drive mode selector with a display. Its cabin has color-coordinated inserts based on the exterior paint option chosen.

The Harrier now gets dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, powered front seats (6-way for the driver and 4-way for the co-driver), multi-color ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.

It has retained features such as ventilated front seats, push-button start/stop, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charging.

Advanced Safety

Tata Harrier facelift 7 airbags

With the refresh, the SUV has been provided with seven airbags with six of them as standard, and a more robust set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which now includes adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. Other safety features include a 360-degree camera, electronic stability program (ESP), and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

New Variant Lineup

Tata Harrier facelift rear

Tata will be offering the Harrier facelift in new variants (also known as ‘personas’), as prevailing on the Nexon facelift. The flagship 5-seater SUV will be available in four broad variants: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless.

The SUV has stuck to its 2-liter diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) unit as before. It comes with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options, the latter now with paddle-shifters. We expect the new Tata Harrier to go on sale soon, with prices likely to start from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Jeep Compass, and higher variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Aston Martin DB12 Launched In India, Priced At Rs 4.59 Crore

It gets a series of thorough updates for the cabin and is a lot more powerful than the DB11

Aston Martin DB12

  • The Aston Martin DB12 has been launched in India priced at Rs 4.59 crore (ex-showroom) and its deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2024. It is the successor to the DB11 in the brand’s long line of Grand Tourers (GT cars).

  • Comes with a twin-turbo V8 engine (680PS/800Nm) from Mercedes-Benz.

  • Gets an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a rear-wheel drive setup, and can do the 0-96kmph sprint in 3.5 seconds.

  • Features an evolutionary exterior design change over the DB11 with minor but impactful changes.

  • More significant change is the new cabin layout with Aston Martin’s own infotainment system.

The Aston Martin DB12 has been launched in India priced at Rs 4.59 crore (ex-showroom) and its deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2024. It is the successor to the DB11 in the brand’s long line of Grand Tourers (GT cars). The DB12 gets some minor changes compared to the DB11 and packs a lot more power from the twin-turbo V8 under the long bonnet. Let’s see what this beast has to offer:

Small But Impactful Changes

Aston Martin DB12 Front

As per the British carmaker, 80 percent of the DB12 is new, which includes the design. Overall, the design language is similar to the DB11, but some minor changes have been made here. The Aston Martin signature grille is now bigger and looks meaner. The carmaker has also redesigned the headlamps with a three-piece DRL setup, the front bumper has been slightly revamped, but more or less the fascia looks similar to its predecessor, making it recognisable as a member of the Aston Martin DB family.

Aston Martin DB12 Rear

The same can be said for the side and rear profiles. Not much has changed. On the profile, the DB12 gets new 21-inch alloy wheels, and the rear profile still looks the same. But for the enthusiast, the carmaker is also offering some customisation options for an added price premium.

Sporty Cabin

Aston Martin DB12 Cabin

While the changes on the exterior are minimal, the same can’t be said for the cabin which gets a much needed revamp. It gets a dual tone theme with leather treatment on all corners. In the centre console, there is Aston Martin’s in-house developed 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which merges into the central tunnel.

The carmaker has not gone full digital so there are a lot of haptic buttons in the centre console, and the cabin looks just as sporty as the DB12’s exterior. The entire centre console also gets a lot of carbon fiber treatment.

Different Powertrain

Aston Martin DB12

Unlike the DB11, which came with a V12 engine at the time, the DB12 debuted with the Mercedes-sourced twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. This engine has been tinkered to be specific to Aston Martin’s super GT, and makes 680PS and 800Nm in a rear-wheel drive setup, and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The DB12 can do the 0-96kmph sprint in just 3.5 seconds and the carmaker has also made some changes in the mechanicals with an electronic rear differential and adaptive dampers to ensure a dynamically poised and comfortable drive at the same time.

Aston Martin DB12

With a price of Rs 4.59 Crore, the DB12 is more expensive than its predecessor and rivals the Ferrari Roma and Mclaren GT as a luxury performance cruiser with a 2+2 seating layout.
