Alfa Romeo Supercar Is Reportedly A Hybrid Maserati MC20 With 800 HP

Alfa Romeo is finally ready to unveil its highly anticipated supercar. The company has set up a livestream on its official YouTube channel for the reveal, which will take place at the Alfa Romeo museum in Arese, Milan on August 30. According to a report by Quattroruote, the new supercar will be based on the Maserati MC20 but with a hybrid twist.

The Maserati MC20 currently offers a gas-powered Nettuno engine, with an electric powertrain expected to arrive in 2024 with the MC20 Folgore. However, the Alfa Romeo version will reportedly combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor. It is said to feature a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine and at least one electric motor, resulting in a combined output of around 800 horsepower. This represents a significant increase from the gas-powered MC20, which produces 621 horsepower. There are also rumors that the hybrid variant will be accompanied by a fully electric version, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

According to the report, the new Alfa Romeo supercar is already sold out. Only a limited number of units will be produced, rumored to be in the “few dozen” range. The price is expected to be in the seven-figure range, and it is uncertain whether the pricing details will be made public. The styling of the supercar is said to be inspired by the iconic 33 Stradale, and it may also adopt a similar name.

It is unclear whether this will be the last Alfa Romeo model to be powered by an internal combustion engine. Alfa Romeo is planning to launch a small crossover below the Tonale next year, which will be a sister model to the Jeep Avenger. The Avenger is primarily offered as an electric vehicle but can also be ordered with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology.

McLaren Artura Art Car Receives Unique Abstract Wrap by Contemporary Artist

The McLaren Artura, the automaker’s first hybrid supercar in series production, made its debut in February 2021. Adding to its allure, the vehicle has been transformed into an art car, featuring a one-of-a-kind custom wrap designed by Berlin-based artist Cevin Parker.

Parker, who is self-taught in contemporary abstract art, has created a vibrant and colorful wrap for the supercar. The design includes streaks and splashes of pink, yellow, and orange, enhancing the Artura’s distinctive fender intakes. Additionally, a captivating fade effect is applied, starting with a pastel purple at the front and gradually transitioning to a sunny yellow at the rear.

Lamborghini Huracan Successor Plays Engine Soundtrack In First Spy Video

Lamborghini is set to electrify its lineup with the successor to the Huracan, which will feature a hybrid setup similar to the Revuelto model. However, there is some uncertainty around the powertrain that will be used in the upcoming Huracan replacement. A recent spy video captures the exhaust note of the coupe, but it’s difficult to determine the exact type of engine responsible for the noise.

Last year, Lamborghini CEO Rouven Mohr mentioned that the Huracan’s successor would have between 6 and 12 cylinders. However, a later report suggested that the automaker might depart from the current car’s naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine and opt for a twin-turbocharged V8, similar to the one used in the Urus. The noise in the video is too loud to ascertain whether the test vehicle has 8 or 10 cylinders, but it does have a distinct raspy and guttural burble.

New Aston Martin Valour brings 705bhp V12 and manual gearbox

Aston Martin has unveiled a new supercar inspired by the impressive one-off Victor, featuring a powerful 705bhp V12 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Valour takes design elements from the original V8 Vantage and Aston Martin’s 1970s prototype racer, ‘The Muncher.’ It is a celebration of Aston Martin’s 110th birthday and its iconic 12-cylinder engine.

Only 110 units of the Valour will be produced, with prices ranging from £1 million to £1.5 million. Buyers have the opportunity to personalize their cars through Aston Martin’s Q bespoke service, offering unique liveries, carbon fiber body finish, and various interior options.

Unlike the Victor, which was based on a surplus One-77 prototype chassis, the Valour has a custom-built body structure derived from the V12 Vantage.

The 5.2-liter V12 engine, based on the DBS, delivers 705bhp and 555lb ft of torque to the rear wheels via a specially designed six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Choosing a manual gearbox over the automatic options found in other Aston Martin models was important to maintain the driver-centric experience, according to Aston Martin engineering boss Simon Newton.

The Valour aims to be a state-of-the-art driver’s car with the spirit of a timeless classic. Modifications include front and rear shear panels, a rear suspension tower strut brace, and fuel tank bracing for added rigidity. It also features adjustable dampers, a new power steering setup for enhanced feedback, and standard-fit carbon ceramic brakes.

Listen To Lamborghini Revuelto’s V12 Engine For Five Minutes In This Video

The Revuelto is Lamborghini’s newest flagship supercar, offering incredible performance, a stunning design, and an exhilarating driving experience. It was introduced this year as the successor to the Aventador and is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 engine combined with three electric motors, delivering a total of 1,001 horsepower. While the hybrid powertrain’s power output is impressive, it’s the sound of the V12 engine that truly captures the spirit.

This video on Varryx’s YouTube channel provides five minutes of pure sound from the V12 engine of the Lamborghini Revuelto. Whether it’s burbling at low speeds, percolating at idle, or ripping through the Nurburgring, its throaty baritone sound is distinct and characteristic of Lamborghini’s heritage from Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The Revuelto’s aggressive wedge-shaped bodywork harkens back to the angular shape of the Aventador and the twin grille front end of the Murcielago. Its low-slung, aerodynamic profile and scissor doors make it unmistakably Lamborghini and guarantee attention wherever it is parked. It’s a car meant to be seen, starting a parade wherever it goes.

However, it’s the engine that truly defines this car. Positioned mid-ship, the heart of the Revuelto is a 12-cylinder beast that roars up to a redline of 9,500 rpm. Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, Lamborghini claims it can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 217 mph, given enough runway.

Unlike earlier Lamborghini models like the original Countach and its Diablo successor, the Revuelto offers a more luxurious driving experience. It has a larger, more comfortable interior than the Aventador, with some space behind the seats and a frunk large enough for a week’s worth of luggage. Keeping up with current trends, it features an infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The dashboard is fully digital and even includes a display in front of the passenger for speed and other performance metrics.

Like all Lamborghinis, the Revuelto is named after a famous fighting bull, in this case, a particularly feisty Spanish bull from 1880. It’s a fitting name for Lamborghini’s latest supercar, which is expected to be available by the end of this year.
