Tesla has begun production of its new Cybertruck pickup and delivered the first few to employees during a special event hosted by Elon Musk. The automaker has also updated its website with pricing, specs, and options, including a $6,500 factory-installed paint protection film for the stainless steel body, available in white or black.

According to Tesla’s website, the self-healing, urethane-based film protects against scratches and is more environmentally friendly compared to standard vinyl wraps. Selecting this option will result in every stainless steel surface being exposed in either satin white or satin black.

If you prefer to maintain the stainless steel look but still want an extra layer of protection, Cybertruck buyers can also opt for a “premium satin clear paint film” for $5,000.

The availability of the wrap comes as a surprise, as Musk previously mentioned that the “Cybertruck can have any color you want, so long as it’s nothing,” and wraps would not be available “at first.”

Tesla already offers factory paint protection film wrap installations for the Model 3 and the Model Y, with prices starting from $7,500. This isn’t the first time a Cybertruck has been seen from the factory in a color other than naked stainless steel. Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen made an appearance in a black-colored Cybertruck at a Cars & Coffee event in Malibu earlier this month. InsideEVs got a close-up look. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is out, and it has some major upgrades compared to its predecessor. One of the major improvements is the new powertrain, a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four engine that comes as standard even on the base SR trim level.

During a test drive of the new Tacoma, we found that even the base-model SR looks the part with its 228-hp turbo four engine. The truck is well-equipped despite its $32,995 starting price.

One of the Tacoma’s key strengths is its comprehensive suite of active safety and driver assistance technology called Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This includes features like forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure prevention, as well as adaptive cruise control, lane tracing, and automatic high beams.

The Tacoma SR also comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and pushbutton start. In a surprising move, the extended cab Tacoma no longer has a rear seat or clamshell half-doors, making it a strict two-seater. The cargo area now includes a lockable cargo bin and open storage.

The Tacoma SR is also available in a four-door Double Cab configuration, with both body styles offering four-wheel drive. The most expensive configuration of the Tacoma SR costs $38,395. If you prefer a stripped-down workhorse, the Toyota IMV 0 might be more up your alley.

Overall, the base 2024 Toyota Tacoma offers several improvements and a decent set of features, making it a competitive option in its category.

One of the biggest identifiables of the C3 Aircross is similar design elements with the C3 hatchback. The SUV’s fascia has similar styling including the sleek LED DRLs and the headlights flanking the grille.
