2005 Ford GT Parked Outside For Five Years Is A Mouse-Infested Supercar

In 2005, Ford released a new GT supercar to celebrate its 24 Hours of Le Mans victories in the 1960s and the company’s centennial anniversary. These cars were produced in limited quantities, making them rare and valuable. That’s why it’s particularly satisfying to see this Ford GT receiving the care it deserves in a video on Ammo NYC’s YouTube channel.

This 2005 Ford GT, which is white with blue stripes, was left outside after its owner unexpectedly passed away. Despite only having 2,500 miles on the odometer, exposure to the elements has caused the paint to weather and leaves to accumulate in every nook and cranny. To add to the problem, there are signs of a mouse infestation.

Most Ford GTs lead pampered lives, stored in garages and showcased at car events. According to Hagerty, these cars are worth between $380,000 to $430,000 in good to excellent condition, with exceptionally pristine examples fetching up to $500,000. The son of the deceased GT owner plans to have it cleaned and serviced before listing it for sale on Cars & Bids.

The restoration process begins with vacuuming the front trunk (frunk), followed by power washing the frunk, engine bay, and exterior of the Ford GT. It’s astonishing to see the amount of dirt and debris that has accumulated in this car. While the surface may have appeared cleaner than the 1980s Chevrolet Camaro mentioned in the video, the frunk, engine compartment, and undercarriage are in much worse condition. Without going into too much detail, they resemble a forest floor rather than the underside of a car.

After countless hours of cleaning, scrubbing, and detailing, the Ford GT has been restored to an almost-new condition. Before listing it for sale on Cars & Bids, Doug DeMuro, who owns a Ford GT himself, visits the Ammo NYC shop and takes the car for a test drive.

DeMuro, who drives his own Ford GT on a daily basis, has accumulated 41,000 miles without encountering any issues. Despite being tall, he finds the car comfortable to drive. However, he dislikes the doors, which he claims can be hazardous, and the seats, which could be more comfortable.

Porsche, Microsoft Team Up For Special Race Livery Themed Xbox Series X

Porsche is making the most of its 75th anniversary with a series of events to commemorate its history. In addition to videos and concepts, it sponsored exhibits and art cars to showcase its heritage and direction for the future. Now Porsche has teamed up with Microsoft to produce a special edition of the Xbox Series X inspired by its cars.

Revealed during the Summer Game Fest this week, the Xbox Series X consoles wear liveries of some of the most famous Porsche racing cars in the automaker’s history. Consisting of six different designs, the liveries of several iconic Porsche 917 cars are featured, including the 917/20 “Pink Pig” from the 1971 LeMans, the “Hippie” design of the 917LH, and the red and white livery of the winning 1970 car. Other liveries include the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Mobil 1, several versions of the Martini and Rossi cars, and a design commemorating the Porsche 963 car racing in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

There will only be 75 of the Porsche-themed special edition Xbox consoles, each featuring a wireless Xbox controller in a matching design. Where do you find one of these consoles? That’s the rub. All 75 consoles are sweepstake prizes in a competition open to US, United Kingdom, and German residents over the age of 18. The sweepstakes event opened on June 8th and runs through October 1. Participants are limited to one entry per day on the Porsche Xbox Sweepstakes website.

Those of us who are not lucky enough to win one of the Porsche-themed Xbox consoles can console ourselves with the new Forza Motorsport. Expected out in October, the game launches with over 500 realistic cars, including the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray and the Cadillac Racing V-Series.R prototype racer. Also included are new tracks and a brand-new single-player mode allowing gamers to delve into the art of car-building. Even visually impaired gamers can get in on the action with the new Blind Driving Assists and One Touch Driving for people who need help pressing multiple buttons simultaneously.

THE FANTOMAS DS TAKES TO THE AIR AGAIN

  • To commemorate the opening of the “On the move with Louis de Funès” exhibition at the Musée National de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse, DS Automobiles is unveiling the drawing for a design inspired by the flying car from the “Fantomas unleashed” film
  • Created by the DS DESIGN STUDIO PARIS, this DS reveals wings and a tailfin, as in the film that came out in 1965
  • Louis de Funès appeared in numerous films with various DS models.

Le Musée National de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf is celebrating the iconic cars from the Louis de Funès films in a temporary exhibition open from 5 April to 5 November 2023.

The exhibition brings together cars seen in the films, including the DS, with posters, photos and props.

DS Automobiles is taking part in this celebration with the Louis de Funès Museum by creating a unique drawing that’s a modern adaptation of the DS from “Fantomas unleashed”.

Alongside Jean Marais, Louis de Funès and Mylène Demongeot, the DS was one of the biggest stars of the second part of the Fantomas trilogy, notably for descending the strips of Vesuvius choreographed by Rémy Julienne, and the final escape in the flying DS, with retractable wings.

“DS made history beyond the car industry. It is part of French heritage and as such, holds an important place in French cinema. We answered the request from the Louis de Funès Museum by designing a modern DS in tribute to the Fantomas DS. Geoffrey Rossillon, in the exterior design team led by Frédéric Soubirou, created the drawing.”
