The model debuted its “Magma” project, a coming collection of sporty fashions to sit at the top their respective model lines. Surprisingly, Genesis has additionally introduced on six-time Le Mans winner Jacky Ickx as an official marketing consultant and model ambassador.

In a presentation at a pre-Auto Show occasion Monday, Icxk talked about desirous to be a part of a “winning team,” and Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke instructed these gathered to not simply fasten their seatbelts, however racing harnesses too. It’s arduous to not learn this not simply as Genesis desirous to get into efficiency vehicles, however racing too. Combine that with the brand’s increased presence in the Gran Turismo series, and you’ll see the place that is presumably going.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing on the horizon now. “Racing is interesting,” Donckerwolke instructed Motor1 on the Auto Show flooring Wednesday. “We have to find the right moment as well because today, racing with the instability of the regulations, you can’t bet on that, because with electrification all the motorsport regulations are changing. So we have to wait a little bit.”

So it is undoubtedly on the radar, if not one thing we will count on in two or three years. As for Icxk, Donckerwolke mentioned he is “bringing another dimension to the group. It’s a support for the Magma program.”

Earlier within the week, Icxk instructed Motor1 he determined to begin working with Genesis after an eye-opening journey to Korea on Doncerwolke’s invite. “I had the option to chose either to stay in the past, or come in the future and live with some people who are at the present and in the future,” he mentioned. “So it’s just a fantastic option.”

But for now, he isn’t like a Niki Lauda for Mercedes or Helmut Marko for Red Bull sort. At least, not but.

Amazon Fire TV Devices Could Ditch Android As Amazon Reportedly Plots In-House OS

Vega represents a major change in Amazon’s consumer hardware plans, following the significant setback of its Fire Phone. Currently, Amazon uses the free Android Open Source Project model as the basis for its Fire OS. However, Amazon does not include core Google/Android services like the Play Store and Gmail in its Fire series of devices to avoid licensing fees.

If Vega completely removes Android from the equation, Amazon will have greater control over the software and apps it wants to include in its future devices. However, persuading developers to support its vision will be a challenge for Amazon.

The recent failures of Windows Phone and the declining Tizen OS at Samsung serve as examples. Amazon has reportedly encouraged developers to use React Native as an application framework to build apps for Vega and Android-based Fire hardware more easily.

For customers, especially those with Android-derived Fire hardware, Amazon’s Vega approach may not be well-received. Amazon could choose to support them for a few more years before fully transitioning to Vega-based devices. Alternatively, it could quietly migrate a selected group of them to Vega, similar to Google’s Fuchsia push, although this would not be a simple task.

The 2024 Honda Hydrogen Fuel-Cell CR-V Has A Plug-In Battery, Too

Honda is still pursuing its hydrogen ambitions, and a fuel-cell CR-V is set to be released in 2024. Camouflaged prototypes of the vehicle have been spotted in both Japan and the US, where it will be available for purchase.

Although the term “camouflage” is used loosely in this context, as evidenced by the bright blue body wrap on the SUV found in Japan. The vehicle, which is approximately the size of a CR-V, features a different front design with large corner vents and a split grille. The word “Honda” is prominently displayed on the vehicle, leaving no doubt about its identity.

The back of the vehicle also differs slightly, notably due to the absence of exhaust outlets. This indicates that it is a fuel-cell vehicle, as emphasized by the word “hydrogen” prominently displayed on the body wrap. Automakers that make things easy to recognize are appreciated.

In the US, an X user named Oscar spotted a test vehicle in California. Unfortunately, the images are not as clear or close-up, as the SUV is covered in swirl camouflage. However, the same split grille front fascia is still visible. Considering that the current-generation CR-V was introduced for the 2023 model year, it is unlikely that this is a mid-cycle refresh.

It’s important to note that although we refer to it as the CR-V for now, that may not be its final name. When Honda announced the development of this fuel-cell SUV, they made it clear that it is based on the CR-V. Now that we’ve seen prototypes in public, it is evident that it closely resembles the popular people mover. Its profile and size align with the CR-V as well. Perhaps it will be called the Honda CR-V Clarity? Only time will tell.
