The updated Safari now has a revised variant lineup including Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished.

The Pure variant of the Safari facelift features a blacked-out Parametric grille with a large air dam and silver skid plate. It gets connected LED DRLs above the grille and LED projector headlights. However, fog lamps are not offered with this variant.

On the side profile, the Pure variant gets blacked-out ORVMs, body-colored door handles, and a ‘Safari’ moniker on the front doors. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Adventure variant, which is positioned above the Pure variant, comes with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the rear, the Pure variant gets connected LED taillamps and a shark fin antenna. It also has a rear silver skid plate. However, it misses out on a rear defogger.

Inside the cabin, the Pure variant comes with a dual-tone (black and grey) layered dashboard design and grey fabric seat upholstery. It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a 6-speaker audio system, and steering-mounted audio controls.

The Pure variant also offers second and third-row AC vents, Type-A and Type-C charging ports, an additional 45W Type-C charger at the front, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, Boss mode, and all four power windows. However, it does not have an electronic parking brake.

In terms of safety, the Safari facelift comes with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) with hill hold, rear parking camera and sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, 3-point seatbelts with reminders, all-wheel disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The Safari facelift is powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that produces 170PS and 350Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the Pure variant is only equipped with the manual gearbox.

The 2023 Tata Safari is expected to be priced from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
