The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has almost completed a year in India since it was launched at the Auto Expo 2023 in January. It has now been revealed that the electric crossover has surpassed 1,000-unit sales in our market, achieving this milestone in less than five months after reaching the 500-unit mark in July 2023. Here’s a summary of the EV:

Most Expensive Hyundai Vehicle

When the Ioniq 5 was introduced in early 2023, it became both the priciest EV and car from Hyundai available in India. The electric crossover had received over 650 orders in less than two months since bookings were opened in December 2022.

Despite being the most expensive Hyundai here, local assembly means the Ioniq 5, priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom), offers great value for money. For context, the Kia EV6 RWD, which is the Ioniq 5’s direct competitor and is being imported here, starts at Rs 60.95 lakh (ex-showroom) due to additional taxes on completely built-up units (CBU).
