If you’re planning to attend the MotoGP Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain from September 1 to 3, 2023, you might be interested in a unique accommodation option. Marc Márquez, the renowned MotoGP rider, is renting out his team motorhome on AirBnB during the event. The motorhome is located next to Márquez’s private trailer and in close proximity to other professional racers.
The motorhome offers various amenities including free parking, bed, TV, kitchen, and bathroom essentials. However, there is no WiFi, clothes washer, hair dryer, or private entrance. The listing will become available for booking on July 19, 2023.
Up to two guests can stay in the motorhome for one night at a cost of 93 Euros (approximately $101). Upon arrival, guests will receive a virtual greeting from Marc Márquez and a team member will provide a tour of the motorhome. Guests will also have the opportunity to ride the MotoGP simulator, enjoy VIP seating at the race, and receive a personal guided tour of the pit boxes.
Please note that transportation to and from the Catalunya circuit is not provided. However, staying at Márquez’s AirBnB offers a unique chance to experience the MotoGP paddock during one of the most popular races of the season.
In the motorcycle industry, summer 2023 is heating up. While Moto Guzzi and Aprilia haven’t made any major announcements yet, these two Piaggio Group brands are clearly ready to make waves in the coming months.
Rumors have been circulating about the return of the Moto Guzzi Stelvio by the end of June, with an expected release before the end of 2023. There have also been hints about the development plans for a 400-450cc Aprilia sportbike. Now, in July 2023, spy photos have emerged showing the Aprilia RS 440 in action, with a Moto Guzzi Stelvio (based on the V100 Mandello) following closely behind. It’s nice to see riding buddies, isn’t it?
4Photos
The styling of the Aprilia RS 440 closely resembles that of the existing Aprilia RS 660. In fact, Aprilia has cleverly disguised the RS 440 as an RS 660 with a graphics decal on the side. However, a closer look at the front wheel reveals a single brake caliper and disc, indicating a potential cost-saving measure in the RS 440 model.
Recently, another test mule of the same model was spotted testing on public roads in India. The photos show similar features to the previously mentioned spy shots, including the single-disc brake setups, alloy wheels, frame design, mirrors, and windscreen. Although the dash is slightly obscured, it provides a small glimpse of what to expect.
If the estimated unveiling of the RS 440 in September during the Indian MotoGP round is accurate, it makes sense to see these near-production test mules in different locations. However, until official information is released, everything remains speculative.
We are now in July 2023, and it has been a busy few weeks for Triumph, Bajaj, Harley, and Hero MotoCorp. These companies have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare Triumph’s Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, as well as Harley’s X440 for their debut. The excitement is palpable.
From an international perspective, the partnerships behind the development of these bikes make perfect sense. In many Asian countries, there is a huge number of small-displacement motorbikes being ridden by a diverse range of riders who rely on their two-wheeled vehicles for their daily lives. Large displacement bikes are often subject to high taxes and are less common. This has created a demand for a middleweight bike that falls between the small and large displacement categories. These bikes offer a little more power without crossing into the realm of big bikes. The partnerships between manufacturers are also important for resources, geography, and maintaining attractive pricing structures.
Royal Enfield has been a prominent player in this middleweight segment with its 350 trio: the Meteor 350 cruiser, the Classic 350 retro-modern standard, and the Hunter 350 modern urban machine. Now, Triumph/Bajaj and Harley-Davidson/Hero are entering the market to compete for a share of this growing segment. Aprilia, part of the Piaggio Group, has also announced plans to launch its own mid-segment bike in 2023. All these companies have initially launched their bikes in India, the world’s largest motorcycle market, with plans to expand to other international markets later.
This segment is attracting attention because it offers a step up from a 125cc scooter, making it an achievable aspiration for many riders. It provides a sense of personal growth and achievement without being out of reach.
According to Bajaj managing director Rajiv Bajaj, Triumph could potentially sell 40,000 to 50,000 TR-platform bikes annually in the next year. Bajaj’s partnership with KTM has given him insights into the motorcycle market, as KTM’s annual sales have grown significantly over the past decade. The partnerships between these companies are aimed at replicating this success in the middleweight segment.
It is worth noting that China is also becoming a major motorcycle market, and KTM has a strong presence there through its partnership with CFMOTO. Recently, Pierer Mobility and CFMOTO announced plans to strengthen their cooperation to meet the increasing market demand in China and the Asian region.
Some More Middleweight Development Details Worth Noting
2017: Triumph and Bajaj formed their partnership.
2021: Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp formed their partnership.
Piaggio Group, the parent company of Aprilia, already has a presence in India and has not partnered with a local manufacturer for its middleweight bike development.
Triumph and Bajaj’s TR-platform bikes will be exclusive to Triumph and will not be used by Bajaj for their future bikes.
On the other hand, the partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp is similar to previous deals between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. This allows both companies to use the same platform for their respective bikes.
After months of speculation, it has been officially announced that Cooper Webb is leaving KTM Factory Racing. Both parties have mutually agreed to part ways immediately.
Ian Harrison, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager, expressed his gratitude to Cooper Webb for their successful partnership. Together, they achieved 52 podium finishes in the 450SX class, including 21 victories. They won the 450SX titles in 2019 and 2021, had a strong second-place finish in 2020, and finished third this year despite Webb’s season-ending crash in Nashville.
Webb had the option to race in the AMA Pro Motocross series in 2023 but decided against it after his season-ending crash in Nashville. However, he later contacted KTM about racing in the MX series, and they agreed to support him for the summer. Unfortunately, a practice crash before RedBud caused Webb to be sidelined once again.
Both Webb and the team have now decided to go their separate ways. This will give Webb time to recover and move on to the next chapter of his racing career. The team and Ian Harrison wish him the best. Webb’s championship bikes and trophies will continue to be proudly displayed in the KTM race shop lobby.
Webb joined Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2019 and won his first 450SX Championship in that same year. He then claimed another premier class crown in 2021 riding the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION.
During their partnership from 2019 to 2023, Webb and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing recorded a total of 21 Main Event wins in the 450SX division of the AMA Supercross Championship. They also secured a single round victory in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship 450MX in 2019. The entire team wishes Cooper Webb all the best in his future endeavors.
The Venue is the entry-level SUV in Hyundai’s lineup and is their most affordable offering since its introduction in the 2020 model year. Although the Hyundai Venue is one of the lowest-priced crossovers on the market today, it still features a surprisingly high level of standard equipment.
With its spacious interior, fuel-efficient engine, and high safety rating, the Venue is a great choice for the first-time customer, especially those looking for a sub-compact family hauler. Some of the competition in the budget-friendly entry-level crossovers space include the Nissan Kicks, Kia Soul, and Toyota C-HR.
With a 121 horsepower four-cylinder engine, it lacks the horsepower for serious performance, but it is quite capable of cruising city streets. While many crossovers offer AWD, the Venue is only available in FWD.
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the Venue has a spacious cabin, providing a roomy feel and can comfortably seat two adults in the rear seats, with limited space for a third passenger. While the design of the Hyundai Venue may not be swanky, its interior is thoughtfully crafted and features robust buttons and switches. When it comes to safety, the Venue stands out by offering a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assist systems as standard, which contributed to its Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The Hyundai Venue comes equipped with a standard 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 121 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque. The only transmission option is a CVT. This engine delivers adequate performance in urban environments, although it lacks grunt when pushed. The Venue’s compact dimensions and responsive steering make it an excellent city navigator, which will be its primary habitat. The ride quality of the Hyundai Venue is noteworthy, as it effectively minimizes the impact of most road imperfections. However, some may find it slightly on the stiffer side, bordering on being too firm.

As per the EPA, the 2023 Hyundai Venue returns 29 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway for a combined 31 MPG.
With its slightly smaller size compared to the Kona, the Venue sports a more traditional SUV appearance upfront with narrow turn signals and square headlights, reminiscent of the flagship Hyundai Palisade. It is available in eight colors which incude

The SEL trim also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, while heated front seats and passive entry with push-button start as options. On the Limited trim, these features come standard. It’s worth mentioning that the Limited trim does not offer the optional power sunroof, but the SEL trim does, which is an interesting choice by Hyundai.

There is also a comprehensive airbag system consisting of six airbags, including dual-front, front-side, and curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions.
Despite its boxy unconventional looks, the Kia Soul remains nimble in corners with its confident handling and 147-horsepower four-cylinder engine, it maintains a smooth ride quality in different driving conditions. The Kia Soul stands out as a great alternate choice for buyers seeking great value and a roomy interior packed with an array of standard features. The Kia Soul is also very similarly priced, starting at $19,890.
The Nissan Kicks has a similar powertrain with 122 horsepower, it is similarly affordability and has impressive fuel efficiency. The Kicks may appear sluggish on paper, but its main strength lies in its excellent fuel economy. Front-wheel drive is the only option here as well, but it delivers an impressive 36 MPG on the highway. The Nissan Kicks starts at $20,440.
A front 3/4 studio shot of a Mazda CX-30
The Mazda CX-30 stands out in this space with its impressive performance and more upscale interior. Equipped with a peppy 191-horsepower base engine, this compact SUV delivers ample power for most driving situations. Mazda offers an enhanced driving experience by pairing it with a six-speed automatic transmission, providing a more engaging feel compared to the CVTs found in rivals. Additionally, the CX-30 comes standard with all-wheel drive, further enhancing its appeal. At $22,950 it is comparatively a little more expensive, but the Mazda has performance to back up the premium.
At this price, Hyundai has put together a capable SUV which is a great choice for folks who are looking for their first car. While there is some good competition to consider, the Venue has a proven track history with reliability, safety, and fuel economy. Maybe in the next generation, we will get to see a version with AWD or a hybrid powertrain to make it more appealing.
In the event of any unforeseen issues, it brings peace of mind to know that the Venue is backed by one of the most comprehensive warranties in the industry. Hyundai offers a generous five-year/60,000-mile new vehicle warranty, ensuring confidence in the quality and reliability of the vehicle. The powertrain is covered by an impressive ten-year/100,000-mile warranty, providing long-term protection for critical components.
Additionally, Hyundai includes a seven-year anti-perforation warranty, offering coverage against rust and corrosion regardless of the mileage accumulated. For added reassurance, 24-hour roadside assistance is available for five years, ensuring support in case of emergencies or breakdowns. With such an extensive warranty package, the Hyundai Venue demonstrates Hyundai’s commitment to delivering exceptional reliability and customer satisfaction.

When comparing the ID.7 to its direct rivals, like the Ioniq 6 and the Model 3, it’s hard not to be impressed by the areas where the ID.7 truly shines. One of its most impressive features is its superior range. While the maximum speed from the 282 hp electric motor may be comparable to its contemporaries, the ID.7 shines with its range of up to 300 miles (482 km), surpassing the range offered by both the Ioniq 6 and the Model 3 by a significant margin. Moreover, in select markets, Volkswagen will offer an optional larger 86.0-kWh battery pack, boasting an impressive WLTP range of 435 miles, potentially exceeding 350 miles on the U.S. EPA cycle. However, it’s important to note that this larger battery pack might be reserved for a more powerful dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant, emphasizing performance alongside efficiency.
The ID.7’s extended range is made possible not only by its larger battery but also by its aerodynamic design, instilling drivers with the confidence to embark on long journeys without worrying about running out of power. However, the ID.7’s advantages don’t end there. It also excels in terms of spaciousness, outperforming its rivals. Whether you’re traveling with your family or need to carry bulky items, the ID.7 offers ample room for passengers and cargo. Its generous interior space and cargo capacity make it a practical and versatile choice for various needs. Furthermore, the ID.7 is expected to enter the market with a starting price of around $45,000, making it an attractive option for consumers seeking both performance and affordability.

Prior to its revival in 2017, Alpine produced some of France’s finest sportscars from the 1950s all the way to the 1990s. Since its revival in 2017, Alpine has only released one model–albeit a great one at that. It’s called the A110, and Alpine has evolved into becoming Renault’s performance and motorsports division as it merged with Renault Sport. This means that it wasn’t just going to make sports cars, but also performance derivatives of Renault’s vehicles as well. Alpine also became Renault’s motorsports flagbearer, actively participating in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship. Motorsports is at the heart of modern-day Alpine, and this gave them confidence to expand its model range beyond just the A110. It also declared that it will enter the North American market by 2027, and to enter such a competitive market, here’s how Alpine plans to succeed.
But as the world switches to electro-mobility, offering a single sportscar with an internal combustion engine (ICE) won’t cut it. Realizing this challenge, Alpine recently announced that they are currently undergoing a “revolution”. The bold statement comes with a preview of Alpine’s fully-electric “Dream Garage”, which consists of seven new models to be launched from 2024 to 2030.
Front view of Alpine A290 Hot Hatch concept
Surprisingly, Alpine’s electric dreams will kick off with an electric hot hatch that’s based on the A290_β concept, a move that is in contrast to most other EV startups that offered big, expensive models first before trickling down to offer more affordable models. The production A290 will utilize the Renault Group’s CMFB-EV platform that will underpin the upcoming Renault 4 and 5 EVs. Details are scarce at the moment since no production model has ever utilized the CMFB-EV platform yet, but we expect the Alpine A290 to be the highest-performing small EV in the Renault Group’s model range. It’s also probably too small for North American tastes, so don’t expect the A290 to be sold stateside.
What will definitely come stateside is the electric successor to the A110. The next-generation electric A110 was previewed with a concept car in 2021 called the A110 E-ternité, which proved to the world that Alpine could develop an electric sportscar that’s lighter than the Porsche 718 Cayman with an ICE. The concept was co-developed with Lotus, but the partnership has been terminated–albeit on friendly terms. Moving forward, Alpine is now developing a new platform called the Alpine Performance Platform (APP), in which the production electric A110 will formally debut in 2026.
Unfortunately, the 2026 launch date also means that American buyers won’t ever get the chance to own an ICE-powered A110. Remember, the brand is only set to enter the North American market in 2027, in which by that time, its lineup will consist purely of high-performance EVs.
A blue Alpine A110 R parked in a city alley of Tokyo
Alpine said that its revenues for 2022 have hit a record, up 33 percent versus 2021. The A110 is the best-selling sportscar in France for the past seven years and is also one of the five best-selling sportscars in Europe. There’s currently a seven-month backlog and sales are expected to reach 4,200 units in 2023. But having only one low-volume model is not going to be enough if Alpine wants to continue growing in terms of revenue. Therefore, Alpine is also set to ape the sales strategy of Porsche in a bid to gain more customers and sales.
Porsche only made sportscars until 2003 when it decided to launch an SUV called the Cayenne. The plan worked beautifully for Porsche, bringing in new customers to the brand and more importantly, increasing its sales and thus having more revenue to fund its sportscar development. Likewise, Alpine is aiming to repeat the same feat by launching two more vehicles using its in-house developed APP platform.
Teaser photo of the seven new models that Alpine will launch
APP is set to be a scalable performance EV architecture. This means that apart from the lightweight A110, APP will also give birth to two more models–a roadster based on the A110 and a modern-day four-seater coupe successor to the A310. Once again, details of the APP-based vehicles are very scarce, and no existing vehicle has utilized this platform yet. We’ve now mentioned four cars, the A290, the next-generation A110, the A110-based roadster, and a modern-day A310. What Alpine has also confirmed is the launch of two new cars in the D and E segments, which in North American terms means that these will be midsize and full-size cars. These two will presumably be rivals to the Tesla Model S and/or the Porsche Taycan.
Unsurprisingly, the seventh model will be yet another electric crossover SUV. For now, Alpine is calling it a “Crossover GT” (initially teased as the GT X-Over), which is set to debut in 2025, but this won’t be underpinned by the APP. Instead, it will most likely utilize the CMF-EV platform that the Nisaan Ariya and Renault Megane E-Tech electric crossovers use. Unsurprisingly, details about the upcoming SUV are scarce, since it’s still in the infancy of its development stages, but you can pretty much guarantee that this electric crossover will arrive in America.
In just a short span of time, Alpine managed to become a household name among car enthusiasts in Europe, mostly thanks to its involvement in Formula 1. Being present in Formula 1, after all, is one of the best marketing tools for any brand to make its presence felt. Unfortunately, in the United States, you need more than motorsports heritage to become popular. Alfa Romeo is also a household name in motorsports, but that hasn’t necessarily translated to the brand becoming desirable in the United States.
Likewise, Alpine will most likely face that uphill battle. It also doesn’t help the fact that French automakers found it too challenging to adapt to the tastes and preferences of North American buyers. Peugeot was the last French automaker to do business in the United States, leaving the country in 1991. Among the French players, Peugeot had the most success, with its sales peaking at 20,000 units in 1984. Initially, they were able to ride the hype train of midsize imported European sedans in the 1980s, but because Peugeot was slow to adapt to shifting American preferences, its sales went on a downtrend, selling just 4,200 units by 1990.
Hopefully, whatever mistakes Renault also did in the past in the United States are still fresh in the memories of its executives. This would help steer its marketing team and executives away from any potential mistakes that could prevent Alpine from being successful in the United States.
The Eccentrica, a prototype restomod based on the 1990s Lamborghini Diablo, was unveiled in Milan today. Initiated by entrepreneur and Lamborghini collector Emanuel Colombini, it combines the work of the BorromeodeSilva design firm, a team of engineers and technicians who worked on the prototype’s development, and premium brands like Pirelli, Brembo, Marantz, Capristo, and Alcantara participating as partners.
The Eccentrica prototype maintains the essence of the original Diablo while offering a more modern driving experience through numerous technological and design upgrades. It retains the original car’s bold proportions while utilizing composite materials and a reinforced and hardened steel tubular chassis. The interior blends 1990s minimalism with state-of-the-art mechanics.
BMW Brilliance “New Plant Art Project” drives sustainability with the power of art
BMW upholds corporate sustainability and contributes to sustainable development with culture and arts
Sharing and empowerment are the driving force for BMW and its partners to co-create sustainable social value
Shenyang. Art is an indispensable part of culture and a major driving force for sustainable development. Upholding its long-term commitment to corporate sustainability and its enduring support and passion for art, the BMW Group and BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) have partnered with Luxun Academy of Fine Arts (LAFA) in Shenyang to launch the “New Plant Art Project”. After two years of preparation, the project was officially completed recently. With the theme of “sustainability” that is in line with the BMW iFACTORY production strategy implemented in the BMW Shenyang production base, the project has carefully selected 10 remarkable artworks created by 10 young artists, as a unique gift for the 20th anniversary of BMW Brilliance. The 10 artworks, including oil paintings, sculptures, and installations, etc., are exhibited at the expanded area of BBA Plant Dadong and Plant Tiexi Lydia Site.
The BBA New Plant Art Project aims to enhance the awareness of sustainable development among employees and the public through cultural and artistic activities, improve the public’s sensitivity towards sustainable development through the planning and presentation of exhibitions and performances, and foster their environmentally-friendly habits in daily life. Meanwhile, by facilitating the intercultural communication between China and Germany and the fusion of industrial intelligence and contemporary art, the project provides abundant sources of inspiration for young artists and diverse interpretations of sustainability through the unique artistic experiences and innovative narratives.
Upholding corporate sustainability and actively engaging in social undertakings. BMW believes that companies with true corporate sustainability are ones that deliver value to customers and actively engage in social undertakings, as well as emphasize long-term sustainable development and create long-term value for shareholders and society. BMW has always embraced three pillars of sustainability: economic, environmental, and social sustainability. These three pillars are one organic unity, with economic sustainability as the foundation, environmental sustainability as the prerequisite, and social sustainability as the goal. They enable a company to transform from individual to collective consciousness, maximize its social value, and share its value.
“A good partnership is never solely defined by economic benefits. Today, the sustainable business philosophy and the value created for society have become the key elements to measuring the success of a company,” said Ms. Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Human Resources, Labour Relations Director. For BMW, No Premium Without Sustainability. It regards sustainability as its core competitiveness and essential premium, which outweighs profitability and is designed to create multi-values for society.
Creating sustainable social value through sharing and empowerment. In the process of creating sustainable value, BMW places equal importance on the approaches. It adopts a “future-oriented social insight” and joins hands with more partners with the help of “empowerment,” “crossover,” and “social collaboration” to co-create social value. Teaming up with art is one of the effective ways to create sustainability and share the concept.
As an influential corporate citizen, the BMW Group has been involved in supporting hundreds of global cultural projects for more than 50 years to promote the development of art. In China, as early as 2011, the BMW Group initiated its first collaboration with Luxun Academy of Fine Arts and Academy of Fine Arts Munich in terms of Plant Tiexi Art Project. With these projects, including the BMW Brilliance “New Plant Art Project,” BMW offers people an emotional experience to understand sustainability, broadens the horizons of young artists, enriches their professional experience, and inspires their passion for exploration, as well as promotes local cultural cooperation and innovative development.
Dr. Franz Decker, President & CEO of BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd., also shared his thoughts on the New Plant Art Project, “For the past 20 years, we have been committed to establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with the local community, empowering talents, and contributing to the local development. The New Plant Art Project perfectly exemplifies our harmonious connection with the community outside of the factory.”
BMW Brilliance’s persistence in sustainability has been recognized by young artists and recorded in their artworks. The work Time Machine symbolizes the cohesion of people in an enterprise. The diverse substances embedded in the linear cubes embody the change of matters on the same stretch of land as time goes by, which expand the spatial and temporal dimensions of the plant, signifying the transformation of this land from agricultural cultivation to commercial manufacturing while emphasizing the natural connection between the factory and the land.
In the work Silent, the artist depicts its most memorable impression of BBA Plants – minimalistic in color yet orderly in production. During the factory visit, the artist profoundly realized that BBA not only focuses on its own development but also takes the environment into consideration. The environment gets improved along with BBA’s progress so that they both achieve sustainable development.
Meanwhile, Backbone portrays the plant built during the development of heavy industry in Northeast China. The painting of the old plant displayed in the new plant not only builds a bridge of communication between the two eras but represents continuity. The appearance of factories may change, technologies may be iterated, and workers shuttle here and there, but the glory and responsibility they bear will endure, further contributing to the development of the local community.
Working together to create a bright and sustainable future. Sustainability is about the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. As Earth is a shared community of life and people are facing common challenges such as global climate changes, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution, it should be the common goal for members from different fields to pursue: to make more progress in human civilization and balance the relationships among the economy, environment, and society.
As a company deeply rooted in China, BBA will continue to contribute to the local economy and society, defend the culture, communicate sustainable innovation, and protect our beautiful home. It will also implement the shared value of sustainability with more like-minded partners and transform from individual to collective consciousness. While leading the automotive industry towards sustainability, BMW looks forward to sharing its ideas of intercultural communication with more partners, so as to propel China’s sustainable development, foster a harmonious coexistence with nature, and create a driving force for sustainable social value.
