Introducing widgets on iOS systems was a dream come true for some people. They are a great way to easily access important apps and customize your iPhone or iPad screen. Whether you categorize your widgets by purpose or simply have them all around your home screen, widgets have proven useful for many Apple users.

However, for many, the widget experience on Macs greatly differed from its mobile counterpart. Fewer apps on the Mac App Store include widget capabilities. Widgets are relegated to the Notification Center. There’s much less user interactivity with Mac widgets. But that will change with the upcoming macOS Sonoma update.

The public beta for the system update was recently launched before its fall release, bringing some big changes to how these app extensions can be organized and used. For starters, gone are the days of only using the Notification Center for widget usage –- according to Apple, Mac users can now add these extensions to their display or home screen, much like how they are used on iOS. That’s not even the biggest advancement on this front, as a new feature called Continuity will allow users to use iPhone widgets on their desktops. Before its official launch, let’s learn how to use this new feature on the macOS Sonoma beta.

Installing widgets on Mac

Before putting iPhone widgets on your Mac or Macbook, we need to get familiar with this new way of organizing desktop widgets.

  1. On the upper right-hand corner of your screen, click the date and time section on the menu bar.

  2. When the Notification Center pops up, go to the bottom and select the Edit Widgets button.

  3. Choose a widget to add, then drag it over to your desktop.

With this simple procedure in mind, it’s now time to send your trusty iPhone widgets to your desktop. What’s important to understand about this new feature is that you don’t have to download the applicable apps onto your desktop for it to work.

  1. Open the Notification Center as previously instructed and select the Edit Widgets button.

  2. Once the menu is up, hold your iPhone to your Mac or Macbook. This should result in your phone widgets popping up on your computer screen.

  3. Like regular widgets, simply drag the ones from your iPhone onto your computer screen.

Elon Musk’s X Corp Files $1 Million Lawsuit Over Twitter Data Scraping

X Corp, founded by Elon Musk, has filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million in damages over alleged data scraping from Twitter. The company claims that the actions of four unidentified individuals have harmed the functionality and reputation of Twitter. X Corp has requested a trial to determine the extent of the damages incurred.

While the lawsuit has been filed, it may face challenges due to the difficulties in identifying and prosecuting the alleged scrapers. Without knowing the identities of the individuals involved, it could be challenging to take appropriate legal action against them. The lawsuit also states that the damages sought will include the disgorgement of the defendants’ profits from the scraping. According to a report by Market Research Future, the web scraping industry is projected to exceed a billion dollars by 2030. Proving the illegality of the scraping without knowledge of the identities could present obstacles for X Corp.

It is important to note that web scraping of public data is not technically illegal. The U.S. Ninth Circuit of Appeals confirmed this in April 2022, as reported by TechCrunch. The majority of the data targeted by the scrapers in this case was publicly available Twitter data, which includes posts and user bios. Since this does not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, it may be difficult for X Corp to establish the illegality of the scraping. The lawsuit is expected to undergo a lengthy legal process before a resolution is reached in the District Court of Dallas County.

The IIHS also suggests that advertising plays a role in promoting risky behavior. Additionally, data shows that Dodge cars, in particular, are more likely to cause fatalities for both the driver and the driver of the other vehicle in a collision involving two vehicles.

It’s important to note that the compact Mitsubishi Mirage G4, rather than a muscle car, is actually the most dangerous vehicle for the driver. Its main selling point is that it’s the cheapest new car available today. Mini cars, like the Mitsubishi Mirage, Chevy Spark, and Hyundai Accent, top the list of vehicles with the highest driver fatalities.

Twitter Introduces Ad Revenue Sharing for Blue Subscribers

Twitter is rolling out a revenue-sharing model for its Blue subscribers, but this opportunity is not available to most Twitter users. To participate, users must first pay for Twitter’s Blue subscription. However, that’s not the only requirement.

Even with a Twitter Blue subscription, users must have consistently achieved 5 million or more tweet impressions for the past three months to be eligible. This criteria excludes a significant number of Twitter Blue subscribers. Additionally, the revenue-sharing program is currently limited to creators based in the United States, excluding users from other markets.

Now that Twitter is sharing revenue with creators, it will be interesting to see if more creators take advantage of this opportunity and use the platform more often to maximize their earnings. In the long run, it is important to assess whether this move will have any impact on Twitter’s declining ad revenues, which have been steadily decreasing since Elon Musk’s takeover. Lexus has made significant improvements in their recent models, moving away from confusing controls and towards a more modern approach. The new RX model now features a 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, bringing it up to speed with the rest of the automotive industry. Additionally, the RX has an impressive head-up display, which is especially notable due to its compact size. The display highlights important information related to adaptive cruise control, drive modes, speaker volume, and song selection.

However, the head-up display does have a drawback. When looking at the main gauge cluster, it can make the steering wheel buttons difficult to understand. Furthermore, adjusting drive modes or climate control settings through the center console involves navigating through numerous menu pages, which can be cumbersome.

Overall, the RX overwhelms with its excessive use of technology, sometimes reinventing basic functions that were once intuitive. For example, the exterior door handle is replaced by a small electronic button, rather than the traditional pull-out handle. Inside the car, a small door handle can be pushed inward as an electronic button or pulled outward in case of an emergency. While this is an elegant solution, it is a direct result of using a tiny electronic door handle in the first place.

While the 2024 Nexon will retain the same 115PS 1.5-liter diesel engine, it may also come with the new 1.2-liter TGDI turbo-petrol unit. This engine, unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023, is rated at 125PS and 225Nm. The current turbo-petrol engine’s AMT option could be replaced by a DCT (dual clutch automatic) mated to Tata’s new engine.

We expect the facelifted Tata Nexon to be priced higher than the current version, which ranges from Rs 7.80 lakh to Rs 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete against the likes of Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and the Hyundai Venue.

From the front, you can easily tell the Invicto apart from the Hycross. It gets a different grille with two chrome strips in the middle connecting the LED headlamps.

Positioning of the chrome elements is slightly different with the presence of a chrome strip at bottom of the bumper, and it gets tri-LED elements in the LED headlamps.

From the sides, it looks just like the Toyota MPV with sharp character lines on the doors, and you can clearly see the length of the car from this angle.

The only noticeable difference on the side is the size of the alloy wheels. The Invicto gets smaller 17-inch alloys compared to the Toyota’s 18-inch alloys and that too of a different design.

The main attraction of the dashboard is the free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system above the central AC events. Below that you can find the dual-zone climate controls which also have the ventilated seat buttons on either end.

MBP Looks to Enter Malaysian Market with MForce Bike Holdings

MBP, also known as Moto Bologna Passione, is an emerging motorcycle brand originating from Italy. It has been gaining traction in the European market with a series of recent launches. The brand was officially introduced at EICMA 2022, where it showcased its premium adventure-tourer called the T1002V.

It turns out that MBP is a subsidiary of Qianjiang, a Chinese motorcycle giant. This affiliation places the brand alongside other up-and-coming marques like Benelli, QJ Motor, and Keeway. This connection to Qianjiang, which is part of China’s Geely Group, explains MBP’s rapid growth and expansion of its model range.

2023 Suzuki SV650X Released in France

Regarding the 2023 Suzuki SV650X, there aren’t many updates. The bike features a sleek gray paint scheme with contrasting bronze alloy wheels. It retains all the retro-inspired elements such as the headlight cowl, low-slung bars, and cropped tail section. It is equipped with the same 645cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, V-twin engine that has been used for decades, producing 73 horsepower and 45 pound-feet of torque. The price for the SV650X is set at 7,999 Euros, which is approximately $8,981 USD.
