2024 Nissan Murano Gets Trim Changes and Higher Prices

The third-generation Nissan Murano, which was introduced in April 2014, is one of the oldest vehicles currently available in the United States. However, Nissan has decided to continue offering the Murano for the 2024 model year, albeit with some changes to the trim lineup and slightly increased prices.

Starting with the trim changes, the base S grade will no longer be available for the 2024 Murano. Instead, the SV trim will now serve as the entry-level model. The front-wheel-drive version of the SV trim starts at $39,255, which is $760 more than the 2023 Murano SV. It’s worth noting that part of the price increase is due to the higher $1,335 destination charge, up from $1,295 last year. Here is the full pricing list for the 2024 Murano, including the destination charge:

Model

MSRP

Murano SV FWD

 $39,255

Murano SL FWD

 $43,215

Murano Platinum FWD

 $47,265

Murano SV AWD

 $40,955

Murano SL AWD

 $44,915

Murano Platinum AWD

 $48,965

In terms of updates, there aren’t many changes for the 2024 model year. The Murano SL now comes standard with a panoramic roof. Depending on the chosen specification, the SUV can be equipped with features such as 20-inch wheels, leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted inserts, wood-look trim, ambient LED cabin lighting, and a premium Bose audio system with 11 speakers. The 2024 Murano also retains the LED headlights and taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and NissanConnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity from the previous model year. Additionally, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety and assist features is standard across all trim levels.

Under the hood, the 2024 Murano is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with variable valve timing technology, delivering a maximum output of 260 horsepower. The power can be sent to the front wheels or all four wheels, depending on the chosen specification.

2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: A Powerhouse with 729 Horsepower

Porsche has unveiled the most powerful variant of the third-generation Cayenne, the Turbo E-Hybrid, following the release of the facelifted model earlier this year. With a massive output of 729 horsepower, this updated trim surpasses the Turbo GT by 79 horsepower and the outgoing Turbo S E-Hybrid by 59 horsepower.

The Turbo E-Hybrid features a hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine generating 591 horsepower and a 174-horsepower electric motor. The total system output is 729 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor is integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission, providing a 40-horsepower boost compared to the previous model. This power allows the Cayenne to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph.

The new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid comes with an increased battery capacity, with a larger 25.9-kilowatt-hour battery pack compared to the previous 17.9 kWh. This enhancement is expected to provide a greater electric-only range, although official figures have not been released. The charging time has also been improved, with a new 11 kilowatt charger allowing for charging in under 2.5 hours.

Similar to previous Turbo models, the Turbo E-Hybrid features unique front and rear bumpers, body color-painted wheel arches, and quad exhaust tips. The interior includes a GT Sport steering wheel, 18-way adjustable Sport seats, and a Race-Tex headliner as standard.

In terms of performance features, the Turbo E-Hybrid benefits from the two-chamber, two-valve adaptive air suspension system introduced with this year’s facelift. It also includes Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and offers optional extras such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and rear-axle steering.

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is now available for order and is expected to arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2024. The starting price is $148,550, including a $1,650 destination fee, with the Coupe variant starting slightly higher at $153,050. Porsche has not yet announced if there will be a more powerful Turbo S E-Hybrid in the future.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Spied Without Any Camo During Photo Shoot

The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan, set to be revealed later this year, was recently spotted without any camouflage during a photo shoot in the streets of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In a short video clip, the new Tiguan can be seen alongside a Mercedes GLE camera car, which is painted all-black to avoid reflecting light.

Based on the fact that the car is featured in a future advertisement, it is likely that we are looking at a high-end trim level, possibly the R-Line variant. The video quality is not the best, but it is evident that the 2024 Tiguan will feature evolutionary styling, as Volkswagen is playing it safe with their popular compact crossover. With over 88,000 units delivered in the first half of 2023, the Tiguan was the eighth best-selling model in Europe, surpassing the once-dominant Golf, according to market researcher Dataforce cited by Automotive News Europe.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan PHEV Seen Testing Under Discrete Camouflage

We now have a glimpse of the upcoming third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan, as spy shots reveal the plug-in hybrid version of the SUV in both left- and right-hand drive setups.

The Tiguan PHEV bears a striking resemblance to other variants of the new model. The charging port is conveniently located on the driver’s side front fender. The front end features a wide fascia with chrome elements shaped like brackets on the outer edges. Volkswagen has cleverly disguised the upper grille using decals, and the headlights have distinctive rectangular lamps.

Watch a Chevy Camaro V6 from the 1980s Get Its First Wash in 12 Years

Chevrolet Camaros from the third generation are gaining recognition in the collector world. The IROC-Z and Z/28 models are selling for over $20,000 in good to excellent condition. In some cases, these cars can even fetch up to $50,000 when they are in pristine condition with very low mileage. Even the base model Camaros can have a significant value, reaching into the low five-figure range with the right options.

However, this particular Chevrolet Camaro won’t be joining the ranks of those highly-prized cars anytime soon. After sitting outside for twelve years, the car’s surface is covered in what appears to be fungus or mold spores, giving it the appearance of being covered in barnacles. The WD Detailing crew has the challenge of bringing this car back to life, both in terms of getting it cleaned up and getting it running. While the Camaro is not in as bad shape as the Austin Healey they previously restored earlier this year, it is clear that they have their work cut out for them.

Fortunately, the spores can be removed with a thorough pressure wash. Despite the fact that General Motors had issues with paint peeling in the 1980s and early 1990s, the red paint on the Camaro remains mostly intact, except for the rear deck, which still looks weathered and faded. However, after some sanding and polishing, the paint begins to shine once again.

Under the hood, this Camaro is equipped with a fuel-injected 2.8-liter V6 engine. With a multi-port electronic setup, the fuel injection system boosted the engine’s output to 135 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque. Although the performance of this engine was not particularly impressive in the 3,300-pound Camaro, it was typical for the era when even the “hot” engines produced only 225 horsepower.

After sitting for twelve years, the V6 engine is currently not producing any horsepower. However, with the help of Robby Layton, who stopped by the WD Detailing shop, they were able to get it started, despite dealing with corroded fuel lines and gas tank.

Moving inside the car, it is in rough condition with lots of debris and at least one dead mouse. However, with some cleaning, the Camaro begins to look presentable. Although the V6 may not have the same appeal as the 1983 Camaro Z/28 featured previously, it still has the potential to be a nice car for cruising around.

2024 Lexus GX Already Receives Overlanding Makeover in Unofficial Rendering

The recently unveiled third-generation Lexus GX has already received a rugged makeover and new technologies. The SUV now offers an Overtrail trim, which includes mechanical upgrades and aesthetic enhancements. But what would the future hold for this model? New renderings from Kolesa.ru give us a glimpse of what an overlanding version of the GX could look like.

With its boxy and chiseled design, the 2024 GX seems like the perfect base for an adventure vehicle equipped with a roof tent. This digital rendering portrays the vehicle with a lifted suspension and BF Goodrich off-road tires. The black plastic cladding, present in the standard model, remains, but the new front bumper now features an integrated winch and additional LED lights. The roof also sports a light bar.

The rear bumper boasts another winch and LED bar. However, the main highlight of the overlanding upgrades is the foldable tent on the roof, possibly with an extending awning. Lastly, this adventure vehicle is distinguished by a new orange exterior color, setting it apart from the regular 2024 GX.

Based on the GA-F body-on-frame platform, the new GX is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link setup at the rear. An optional Adaptive Variable Suspension with active dampers is also available. Powering the GX is a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 engine delivering 349 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, making it the sole engine option at launch. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this engine allows for a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 pounds.

If we hypothetically assume that this overlanding SUV is based on the Overtrail trim, it offers several upgrades over the standard model. These include 33-inch tires, a locking rear differential, and additional underbody protection.
