1965 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Pickup With LS1 V8 Engine Up For Auction

The Toyota Land Cruiser is making a comeback in 2024, but for those who prefer a more classic style or don’t want to wait, there’s a modified 1965 Land Cruiser FJ45 pickup available at auction. This Land Cruiser, currently listed on BringATrailer.com, features a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine and underwent a thorough mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment. The bid is currently at $60,000 with no reserve and five days left in the auction.

The modified Land Cruiser comes equipped with power steering, disc brakes, a front winch, tow hooks, and locking hubs. Power is transmitted through a five-speed manual transmission with a dual-range transfer case, routing power to all four wheels. It also features 17-inch American Racing rims and 37-inch General Grabber X3 tires for enhanced off-roading capabilities.

Inside the vehicle, you’ll find a three-spoke Grant GT steering wheel, a body-color dashboard, and an Alpine stereo. The instrumentation includes a 160-mile-per-hour speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. With a 23-gallon fuel cell, the total mileage of the Land Cruiser is unknown despite the odometer reading 6,000 miles.

In contrast, the forthcoming 2024 Land Cruiser features a more modern design and is equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter hybrid engine producing 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. It also has full-time four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case. The 2024 model is smaller and more affordable than its predecessor, targeting a starting price in the mid-$50,000 range. With 8.7 inches of ground clearance, it boasts impressive off-road capability.

Inside the new Land Cruiser, you’ll find a central infotainment screen measuring 8.0 or 12.0 inches, the latest safety features, and modern technologies. It can comfortably seat up to five people and shares its platform with the Lexus GX, while still maintaining its unique appearance.

Hyundai Kona Electric

The Hyundai Kona Electric line-up remains the same, offering two models: the Standard Range and the Long Range. The Standard Range model comes with a 154bhp motor and a 48.4kWh battery, while the Long Range model boasts a more powerful 214bhp motor and a larger 65.4kWh battery. We had the opportunity to test drive the entry-level model, which has an estimated range of 234 miles. Although it falls slightly short compared to rivals like the Peugeot e-2008 (250 miles), it still outperforms the entry-level Volvo EX30 (214 miles).

The Long Range model, starting at a price of £38,595, offers an impressive range of 306 miles, surpassing the Kia Niro EV which shares the same platform. Both variants can charge at a maximum rate of 102.3kW, which may not be groundbreaking but is sufficient given the battery sizes. Additionally, a heat pump comes as standard, ensuring that the range does not dramatically decrease in colder winter months.

In terms of the Standard Range model, it will only be available in the UK in the entry-level Advance trim, featuring 17-inch wheels and luxury amenities such as dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Long Range model, on the other hand, offers more trim options including N Line and N Line S trims, which are set to be released in 2024 with 19-inch wheels and unique styling elements. There is also a range-topping Ultimate trim, priced from £43,095, which includes 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, a sunroof, a Bose stereo system, and additional driver assistance systems.

Audi RS3 Sportback Spotted with Redesigned Fascias at Nurburgring

The Audi RS3 is undergoing a makeover, despite being only a year old. Recent spy photos have captured the Sportback version being tested on and around the Nurburgring race track.

The camouflage on the Sportback conceals the same features that were hidden on the RS3 sedan spotted last October. These coverings hide a new front fascia with a reshaped grille and bumper. The camo also extends to the fenders, which Audi might make some adjustments to, as well as the side skirts that could potentially have a new design.

Triumph’s Electric Concept Car, Triumph TR25, Unveiled by Makkina

Triumph Motor Company, after a hiatus of almost four decades, has made a comeback with an impressive design concept. Launched by the Makkina design house, the Triumph TR25 pays tribute to the iconic Triumph TR2 MCV575 “Jabbeke” from 1953, known for its record-breaking performance.

The TR25 draws inspiration from the TR2’s design, incorporating various styling elements. Notably, the headlights feature a central “25” as a nod to Makkina’s 25th anniversary. The concept car boasts a sleek and minimalistic exterior, deviating from the original model’s curvaceous design. With short overhangs, large wheels, and distinct creases over the fenders, the TR25 exudes a modern appeal.

OpenAI Disables ChatGPT Web Browsing Due to Issues with Bing

OpenAI has disabled the web browsing feature of ChatGPT due to a problem with displaying paywalled content. Although the exact details have not been disclosed, OpenAI has acknowledged that ChatGPT Browse beta occasionally showcases content in ways that are undesired. It’s important to note that this issue does not affect all paywalled websites. In cases where the AI cannot access specific URLs in real time, it simply displays the usual error message.

Browsing the web is a powerful tool within ChatGPT’s capabilities as it allows the AI chatbot to gather updated information from the internet. Without this feature, when asked about recent events, the AI bot provides a standard response that it cannot access the latest knowledge from the web due to its training data only going up until 2021.

In order to enable web browsing, users must first purchase a ChatGPT Plus subscription starting at $20 per month. After becoming a premium subscriber, users can select GPT-4 as the information model and choose “Browse with Bing” from the drop-down list of New Features in the app settings.

In addition to web browsing, ChatGPT has also integrated support for third-party plug-ins through partnerships with well-known brands and service providers like Instacart, Klarna, Expedia, and Zapier. These plug-ins mark a significant step towards connecting ChatGPT to the web in real time. [source]

Hacker Claims Tesla Full Self-Driving Has Secret ‘Elon Mode’

According to a hacker named GreenTheOnly, there may be a secret setting in Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system called ‘Elon Mode.’ While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, GreenTheOnly’s observations suggest that the alleged mode has some promising features. They note the absence of frequent reminders while driving for 600 miles in busy traffic and mention progress in detecting debris. However, they also point out that the alleged mode is still a work in progress, experiencing unexpected lane changes and a relatively slow driving speed as issues.

Considering the current state of development, it’s likely that even if Elon Mode is being worked on, it will take some time before it becomes available to FSD drivers, if it ever does. Nonetheless, it’s encouraging to see Tesla addressing the nagging problem that users have complained about as a distraction from the road. However, the concern of random and unprompted lane switches, which poses serious risks for drivers using an already controversial system, is still being addressed. It remains to be seen if Elon Mode will be confirmed and released, but it would be wise to keep it as an internal codename.

Mercedes-AMG G63 Transforms into an Extended and Lifted Overlanding Truck

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class hasn’t been a popular choice for overlanding camper equipment, until now. Pit26 Motorsports, a distributor of suspension and performance parts for the G-Class in the US, has recognized the great potential of the boxy SUV and created an overlanding machine based on the range-topping AMG G63 version.

This particular vehicle, built for a client with a passion for outdoor living and exploring, takes the form of a pickup truck with extra space for overlanding gear. The wheelbase has been extended by nearly 20 inches, and the suspension with portal axles has been lifted by about 5.9 inches.
