Genesis GV70 Gets an Unexpected Off-Road Transformation

Since its introduction, the Genesis GV70 has been known for its luxury, being one of Hyundai Motor Group’s most luxurious products. Although a refreshed version is in the works, the current model is still a relatively new vehicle. Ahead of the refreshed model’s launch, Genesis is venturing into the off-road segment with the introduction of an overlanding GV70, created in collaboration with off-road specialists Delta. At this stage, it remains a concept.

Celebrating Delta’s 40th anniversary, the GV70 Project Overland is a prototype that enhances the luxury crossover’s capabilities without extensive chassis modifications. The vehicle’s suspension has been upgraded, raising it by almost two inches from the ground and giving it a wider stance with a set of 18-inch Classic B Rugged black wheels fitted with Continental ATR tires. These modifications are showcased under extended wheel arches.

2024 Genesis G70 Gets 300 HP And Brembo Brakes For Base Model

The Genesis G70 won’t obtain one other era, however the automaker is working to seize peoples’ consideration. The firm introduced right this moment that the game sedan will get a brand new turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for the 2024 mannequin yr within the US. Genesis introduced it in the model for the Korean market in May.

The engine replaces the turbo 2.0-liter that presently powers the entry-level G70. The new mill makes 48 extra horsepower, producing 300 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque. The sedan is accessible with rear- or all-wheel drive.

2024 Genesis GV60 RWD Addresses the Biggest Issue with EVs

The 2024 Genesis GV60 Standard RWD starts at $52,000, while the GV60 Advanced AWD and GV60 Performance AWD models have starting prices of $60,550 and $69,550, respectively. However, one problem highlighted in SlashGear’s review of the 2023 Genesis GV60 remains unresolved – the limited availability of the vehicle in North America. Currently, the GV60 Standard RWD and GV60 Advanced AWD are only available at select retailers in 23 states, and the availability of the GV60 Performance AWD has not yet been announced.

Despite this limited availability, the 2024 Genesis GV60 should not be disregarded as an option for those looking to purchase a new EV, especially considering its increased range. The new model also introduces several standard features, including a Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Highway Driving Assist II, and Advanced Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist. Genesis has also enhanced safety measures by adding more airbags, a seat belt pretensioner, load limiter, and rear seat belt reminder to the 2024 model.

Moreover, the luxury EV retains the advanced features found in previous Genesis models, such as the ability to operate the vehicle using fingerprint and/or facial recognition instead of a key. Additionally, the GV60 boasts a unique and innovative feature – a drive shift in the form of a glowing crystal ball. Those interested in purchasing a 2024 Genesis GV60 can obtain more information from a local Genesis retailer or by visiting the automaker’s website.

Genesis GV80 Coupe powered by a 409bhp supercharged hybrid

Genesis has introduced the GV80 Coupe as its first entry into the coupe-SUV market, alongside the redesigned traditional-bodied SUV version. The luxury models were unveiled in South Korea and are considered an important step in Genesis’ journey to success.

The Genesis GV80 Coupe draws heavy inspiration from the concept car of the same name, which was revealed in April 2023. It boasts a sleek design, featuring a curved rear end and a spoiler positioned just above the tail-lights. This more rakish design aims to enhance both practicality and sportiness, creating a distinctive package.

The coupe is equipped with an active air flap and four front air vents to improve cooling. The GV80 Coupe is offered with a choice of 20-inch or 22-inch wheels and features carbon materials and patterns, bespoke upholstery stitching, and metal trim details in its interior.

The GV80 SUV has also received a design refresh, including a new front grille, slimmer headlights, and various interior upgrades. Its cabin boasts a large 27-inch infotainment system with sat-nav and video playback, as well as touch pads for climate control adjustment. The SUV also features a two-tone steering wheel, premium materials such as wood, leather, and aluminum on the center console.

Both models offer convenient features such as a wireless phone charger, a larger center console cupholder, and a rotary dial for radio tuning or volume adjustment. Additional equipment includes fingerprint authentication, heated armrests, and a fragrance system. Back-row passengers in the GV80 SUV can enjoy a 14.6-inch rear display with a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system and video streaming.

The GV80 SUV is available with two powertrain options: a 299bhp 2.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 311lb ft of torque, or a 374bhp 3.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 390lb ft. Meanwhile, the GV80 Coupe offers the same two engines and an additional range-topping option: a 3.5-liter supercharged 48V hybrid with 409bhp and 405lb ft. This powerful hybrid includes launch control, a Sports+ driving mode, and adjustable brake responsiveness.

Both the SUV and Coupe models are equipped with a range of safety features, including electronic stability control, electronic control suspension, crosswind stabilization, and an AI-driven terrain analyzer.

Genesis Achieves Milestone of One Million Cars Sold Since 2015 Launch, G80 Leading the Way

In late 2015, Genesis became an independent luxury division of Hyundai. Looking back, this move has proven to be a successful one. As of August 2023, Genesis has officially reached the milestone of selling over one million vehicles worldwide.

Unfortunately, the exact details of the one-millionth vehicle sold are not available. We reached out to Genesis for more information, but they were unable to provide any specific or general details about this special car. Interestingly, the company did not make a big celebration out of this achievement as they are currently focused on producing new vehicles instead.

Hyundai, Genesis Showcase Art Cars in New York to Promote 2030 World Expo

From September 17 through 22, keep an eye out for vibrant Hyundai and Genesis art cars driving in Manhattan. These vehicles are hitting the road during the UN General Assembly High-level Week 2023 to promote Busan, South Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

The collection of 20 art cars includes the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis G80 Electrified. These vehicles feature graffiti-inspired wraps by artist Jay Flow, with the message “Busan Is Ready.” The designs often incorporate waves and cartoon characters as recurring motifs.

Take a Look at the New Genesis G80 Spy Video Revealing Updates

The Genesis G80 sedan is undergoing a refresh, and a stealthy individual managed to capture a development vehicle at night. The extensive camouflage obscures much of the car’s appearance, but the photographer was able to get up close and document details such as the interior.

Similar to previous spy images, the refreshed G80 is wrapped in a fabric covering with panels underneath for added secrecy. The exterior features the signature split headlights and taillights that are characteristic of the brand. The shield-shaped grille remains a prominent element of the front end, sporting a mesh design.

Genesis GV80 Coupe Spotted Testing at the Nurburgring

Genesis is planning to expand its GV80 lineup by introducing a coupe version of the SUV. The automaker officially announced this new model earlier this year, and now a recent video shows the GV80 Coupe undergoing tests on and around the iconic Nurburgring race track in Germany.

Although most of the SUV is still covered in camouflage, certain important design elements are clearly visible. The car features a sleek roofline, a wide spoiler, large air intakes at the front, and quad tailpipes at the rear. The GV80 Coupe showcases crisp body lines, the brand’s signature dual-bar lighting design, and large wheels that contribute to its sporty appeal.

2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe Spotted Testing With Notable Design Features

In December 2021, Genesis hinted at the possibility of a GV80 Coupe, and in April of this year, a concept version was unveiled at the New York Auto Show. Following this debut, Hyundai’s luxury division confirmed its plans to release a production GV80 Coupe, which is expected to arrive next year as a 2025 model in the United States. However, before series production begins, extensive testing is still required.

The GV80 Coupe, which aims to compete with the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe, was initially spied in February 2023. At that time, it was heavily camouflaged, but the latest spy photos reveal more details as the camouflage has been significantly reduced. Notable design updates include an updated front grille, prominent air intakes, and striking quad exhaust tips. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with large two-tone wheels fitted with high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Genesis G80 Facelift Spy Photos Show Updated Lights, Restyled Interior

A facelifted Genesis G80 has been spotted in California, giving us a closer look at the changes made to this upscale sedan. The heavy camouflage is still present, but the combination of bright sunlight and clear images reveals some of the modifications. We also catch a glimpse of the updated interior through the passenger window.

Compared to our previous sighting, it seems that the exterior changes for the G80 will be minor. The split-light design is retained both at the front and rear, although the headlights appear slightly smaller. The pixel LED elements are also visible and shine brightly in the sunlight. Looking closer, you can see that the front fascia has undergone minor revisions, with the corner vents being slightly reduced in size. The large shield grille, however, does not extend as far into the central opening as before.

It is possible that the grille will also be slightly smaller, following the design changes seen on the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata. These models feature redesigned front clips with smaller grilles, so it is plausible that a similar approach will be taken for Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury brand.

While the sides of the prototype remain hidden, we can see that the twin lightbars on the fenders will be retained. At the rear, the taillights show some differences compared to the previous model. The twin bars are still present, but the lenses appear larger, although this could be due to the contrast between the darker quarter panels and the brighter trunk. Additionally, the rear fascia features different body lines, and the faux exhaust outlets have been revised.

Although we previously spotted a G80 prototype, we now have a partial view of the interior. Looking through the passenger front window, we can’t discern the details, but it appears that the floating-style center touchscreen is no longer present. The slope of the dash in front of the driver is less prominent, suggesting that the updated G80 may adopt a layout similar to the larger G90 model. The heavy covers on the dashboard indicate that more significant changes may be happening beyond minor trim updates.
