Cadillac Compact EV Crossover Spotted Inside and Out

In these recently taken spy shots from Colorado, we get a closer look at the camouflaged vehicles, particularly the one next to the white Cadillac Lyriq. This is the first glimpse we’ve had of Cadillac’s small electric crossover, currently unnamed but expected to be similar in size to the XT4. While it shares a similar shape with the XT4, the electric crossover is fundamentally different beneath the surface.

Credit goes to Cadillac for effectively concealing the prototype, even without heavy covers. The lack of a large cooling system, inherent in electric powertrains, allows for a securely wrapped camouflage. However, upon closer examination, you can spot narrow trim at the top of the solid grille. Placeholder lights are positioned vertically at the sides, framing the expected grille design similar to that found on the larger Lyriq.

Kia EV9

When you approach the EV9 for the first time, the first thing that catches your attention is its fresh and appealing new styling. It has a modern front panel, sleek headlights, cladding along the body sides, and a simple tailgate design. Although it’s long and boxy, it’s a unique car that doesn’t deter new arrivals.

Similar to its smaller sibling, the Kia EV6, the EV9 is built on the Hyundai Group’s EV-specific Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It shares many hardware components with the EV6, including its independent multi-link suspension and powertrain. The EV9 is available in both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions.

The base models of the EV9 have a 200bhp motor that sends 258lb ft of torque exclusively to the rear axle. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds. The 4×4 version incorporates two motors of equal power (189bhp each) mounted at the front and rear, giving the car a total of 378bhp and a 0-62mph time of 6.0 seconds. With an additional over-the-air software update, torque can be boosted from an impressive 442lb ft to 515lb ft, reducing the 0-60mph time by 0.7 seconds.

The EV9’s controls are smooth and responsive, making you forget that it’s an electric vehicle. It offers a quiet motor and a range of nearly 300 miles, depending on your driving style. The car’s motion is controlled using a small switchblock on the right side of the steering column, and there are additional buttons on the steering wheel for various functions, including an easy one-touch operation to disable the lane-keeping assistance. Similar to other Hyundai and Kia EVs, the regenerative braking can be adjusted using steering wheel paddles.

This test car is a mid-range version meant for the domestic market, so it lacks some of the features of a high-spec UK EV9 and only has one motor. The braking is powerful and easy to control, and the steering feels most natural in Normal driving mode (Sport and Eco modes are also available). The controls have a smooth, frictionless feel akin to well-known brands like BMW and Porsche. This demonstrates the relentless pursuit of greatness by Kia.

Facelifted Mahindra XUV300 Caught On Camera Again Revealing Two New Details

The latest spy shot reveal an XUV700-inspired floating touchscreen system and a fresh set of alloy wheels

  • Exterior revisions are expected to include a split grille setup and connected taillights.

  • It should also get a heavily updated cabin.

  • New features could consist of a digital driver’s display and ventilated front seats.

  • Likely to continue with the same engine options as the current model; might get a torque converter unit instead of an AMT option.

  • It is expected to go on sale by early next year, and could be priced from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

The facelifted Mahindra XUV300 is under development and another test mule of the SUV has been spotted. Though it was draped in heavy camouflage,  a couple of new details are still visible on both exterior and interior. Let’s have a look at what these details are hinting us at.

What’s Visible Under The Wrap?

At a first glance, the most noticeable change on the test mule is the new design of the alloy wheels. Also, if you try to peek inside of the test mule, a new floating touchscreen is visible, which looks inspired from its bigger sibling, the XUV700.

The updated XUV300 will also get comprehensive changes on both front and rear ends, including refreshed split grille setup, bonnet and bumper. At the rear, the boot lid now looks more muscular than before, and the license plate has been repositioned for a better look.  We also expect it to feature XUV700 inspired C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlights upfront, and connected LED tail light setup at the rear.

Amenities To Expect

Mahindra XUV300 Cabin

The facelifted XUV300 will likely feature a big floating touchscreen setup running Mahindra’s latest operating system, a digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats. Some existing features such as a single-pane sunroof and cruise control should likely be retained.

The safety kit on the new facelifted subcompact SUV will be carried over from the existing model, which includes up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes and a rearview camera.

What Will Propel It?

Mahindra XUV300 Engine

The 2024 XUV300 should come with the same engine options as the current model, which are a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (110PS/200Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (117PS/300Nm). Both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. Mahindra also offers a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine (130PS/250Nm), which is only available with the 6-speed manual. We believe that Mahindra could provide a torque converter unit instead of the currently available AMT gearbox on the facelifted SUV.

Launch, Expected Price & Rivals

The facelifted Mahindra XUV300 is expected to be launched by early 2024, at  a starting price of Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue its rivalry with the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza and Kia Sonet.

New Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain Spotted at Traffic Light

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has recently been launched with a new design, advanced powertrain options, and innovative technologies. While the sedan version is already out, the automaker is still working on other iterations of the E-Class, such as the regular wagon and the raised E-Class All-Terrain. A camouflaged prototype of the latter has been captured on public roads in Germany, showing the car waiting at a traffic light in a short video.

The prototype vehicle has German registration plates, with the last digits suggesting that it is a part of the test fleet we’ve seen in the past. Though not much has been modified on the exterior since the previous spy shots, the new video does give us a glimpse of the rugged wagon in motion.

The Newly-Revealed 2024 Lexus GX Looks Like A Serious SUV

The new Lexus GX is a completely fresh model from the ground up with an all-new look and more off-roading credentials to its name

2024 Lexus GX

The third-generation of the Lexus GX has been globally premiered. This is its most significant update till date, and the previous generational update was introduced over a decade ago. This luxury off-road capable SUV is set to go on sale across international markets towards the end of 2023. Here are five things you need to know about the all-new Lexus GX:

Looks Like A Tank

2024 Lexus GX

The new GX is based on the new GA-F platform, which is shared with the Lexus LX. It looks nothing like its predecessors and adopts a block-ish design that looks like something that Dwayne Johnson would drive through walls in the next Fast and Furious movie. The curvy nature of the previous generation is replaced by a meaner, more aggressive looking sharp silhouette and looks more butch than it ever has.

The grille now seems a lot more palatable while still being in-your-face with its tall stance. Its wheel arches are more prominent than its predecessor, thanks to the chunky cladding all around, and can be filled with wheels ranging in size from 18- to 22-inches. The strong shoulder line flows through the entire body and the lines casually integrate into the bonnet. One quirky detail is the upward kink in the window line.

The boxy SUV trait continues at the back with an upright boot design and crisp geometrical proportions. A touch of modernity can be seen with the connected LED tail lights. The GX truly gives you that off-roader vibes with a neo-retro appeal.

Premium And Luxury From The Inside

2024 Lexus GX

The cabin of the new Lexus GX has a very different design approach to the badass styling on the outside. Its interior looks very luxurious and premium like one would expect from a Lexus, but still gives out utilitarian vibes. It has a single-pane sunroof and grab-handles on the A- and B-pillars on each side.

Occupying the centre stage is a massive 14-inch touchscreen system and the 12.3-inch digital driver’s display is integrated into the same panel. The tall heighted dashboard gives you the feeling of a giant SUV. Even though the climate controls are operated via the touchscreen, it has physical dials integrated for the dual-zone temperature adjustment.

It’s Got A V6!

2024 Lexus GX

The new GX continues to be a body-on-frame SUV that is powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Also on offer is a 2.4-litre turbocharged hybrid engine, which will be good for the fuel efficiency. It is the first ladder-on-frame Lexus to use a hybrid system. Both powertrains come with 4WD.

Off-Road Monster

2024 Lexus GX

Aiding its off-road credentials is a full-time 4WD with low-range gearbox and multi-terrain select mode. The controls for which are housed in the centre console, ahead of the drive selector, with switches to lock the differentials. It’s also the first Lexus to get E-KDSS, which provides compatibility between off-road and on-road driving. There are special seats which minimize the head toss while driving off the road. Lastly, the driving performance is improved by all-terrain tires..

Lexus will also be offering two hardcore off-road variants – OVERTRAIL and OVERTRAIL+. Both of them get several modifications to make it more capable.

Expected Price And India Launch Details

2024 Lexus GX

Lexus is expected to bring the new GX to India sometime in 2024, after the global launch. The GX sits between the RX and LX in the Lexus SUV range and has never been offered in India. It’s expected to be priced around Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom).
